Tiburon Fine Dining has quietly become one of Utah's premier restaurants. Tiburon is located in the south end of the Salt Lake valley in an unassuming building that formerly housed a fruit stand. But don't be fooled, Tiburon serves award-winning contemporary American cuisine ranging from pan-seared Beef Tenderloin with Foie Gras and Madiera syrup to Black Sesame-Crusted Ahi Tuna with Honey and Soy Marinated Carrots. The Crab Cakes consistently win best in the state and the salads are raved about by the locals. But it does not end with the food, service is always top-notch. Led by a staff that has been with owners since its opening in 1999, guests always feel welcomed in the warm and friendly atmosphere. And in the Summer with it's patio dining. Tiburon is the place to dine in the South Valley.

This was my second visit to Tiburon and the first time to have their house specialty, Elk Tenderloin. everything about this place is amazing. Food, service, wine, cocktails, oh, and dessert!
I could go on and on, but just go. don't miss a chance to eat here. I just wish it was located in Oregon, near my home so I could go all the time.

Right away you enter the restaurant it has a nice calm ambiance, we were seated right away (must make reservations) and the waiter came to us promptly. He was friendly, we got bread and salad with our meals and they tasted amazing, we also got our meals right when we wanted them and there was no long wait in between portions. It is a little pricey but worth it.

I just love going to this restaurant. So relaxing and the quality of the good is excellent. We got to sit out on the patio; the first diners of the season. The temperature was good. They lit the heaters just in case it got chilly. The service was excellent as was the food.

This was our first time dining here and will not be our last. The staff was absolutely wonderful! Our waitress was very polite and gave excellent recommendations! The food and presentation was outstanding beginning to end. We ordered the crab cakes, beef tenderloin, salmon, and creme brûlée. It was perfection! We were very impressed by our experience and cannot wait to return!

Always a consistent dining experience (e.g. the bread/homemade butter, delicious salad, sorbet, etc.). The service is always excellent. The lobster was a bit too garlicky for me this evening, but the filet was it's usual fabulous self. This restaurant is truly one of the icons of Salt Lake, a must try and you'll be hooked.

We found the menu limited and the food not as fresh as we like. The greens were not crisp, the garlic/parsley sauce was heavy handed. So was the salad dressing. The pineapple rice was terrific, but not enough of a treat to draw us back.

The Elk and Lamb Tenderloins were excellent. I had one and my wife had the other. I was completely awe struck with each bite. It's a bit pricy but worth the experience even it it's just once in a while especially for those special occasions.

My wife is very particular when I comes to trying new places and not often do I hit a home run when I convince her to try a new place. This was our first visit and here I am three days later listening to her rave about how great it was. We will be back for sure.

Tiburon served by far the best food I have ever eaten. My friend and I came here specifically for the elk steak, but the salad was so good, I almost filled up on it instead. The sorbet had the consistency of ice cream and was soft and delicious. The elk steak practically melted in my mouth and was amazing. The mint lemonade was also extremely tasty. The ambiance was beautiful, I loved the low lighting and the table candle. My only complaint would be the chairs were mildly uncomfortable. Everything else, including the service, was amazing!

Our experience was absolutely outstanding. Our plates were pieces of art. The combination of savory and sweet and food appropriate for what we ordered was unique. Our waiter, Ryan, was terrific..cordial, professional, patient and very knowledgeable. Our drive was worth it . Fine dining is by far different than fast food. What we paid for our dinner was worth every penny. Ryan treated us like we were special. We are new to Utah with a background of owning restaurants ourselves from the Seattle area. Tiburon is a sweeeet little gem, and oh so delicious. Kudos to Chef Carlos in the kitchen....it was all amazing. I imagined the spirit of Julia Childs was present. Thank you. We personally know what it takes to achieve a team of perfection.

Food was awesome as usual, but boy is it loud. We got probably the worst seats in the house right next to the bar. Lots of traffic and noise. But hey, the food is worth it.

Food was very good as usually, service was good as usually, but i had reserved the night asking to be seated in the inside Patio and when we got there right on time the Hostise stated that there were no four person table's in the back Patio, yet with my own eyes I saw two empty tables with four empty chairs. We come here quite a bit and this upset me greatly, I'll really considere coming back!!!

We went on a Tuesday (day before Valentine's Day), and the place was mostly filled with couples. The decor is 'meh', but from the moment we sat down, it was all about the service and the food.

From the crab cakes, to the elk and tuna we had for dinner, the food was to an excellent standard. The ingredients worked together, and while we are not big eaters, we ate a lot. The portions were so well thought out that we didn't leave hungry (French portions? No!) or were not stuffed.

One of our better meals, and we are global travelers.

Tiburon is our new "go-to" for special occasions. The scallop appetizers were perfect. We loved the house salad. Our entrees were all from the regular menu and included tenderloin, elk, and salmon. All were wonderful and included several small portions of creative sides. We especially enjoyed the spaghetti squash. Service was great.

The peak noise level in the main dining area on a busy Saturday night was a little distracting. In future we will ask to be seated in the back area or on the patio in good weather. The wine by the glass menu was limited. We took our own wine (corkage was $12) and it worked out well.

The food was not well portioned and had no flavor. Will never eat here again. Was not a good value for the money..wish we had gone to Texas roadhouse or longhorn steakhouse.

Food came out cold. Pork belly Appetizer was not fresh cooked. Tasted like it had been pulled out of the fridge as a two day leftover.
Staff were eating their own dinner when we walked in. Service was slow.
Something a little creepy about he staff.
Metal chairs need to go.

They need a fresh approach to decor, food and staff. Place has gone down hill over the past 10 years.

My husband and I were in SLC for the weekend so I suggested dinner here. I had previously been here twice with my daughter and both times were wonderful. I made reservations on Open Table a few hours before 5:00 which is the time we wanted and it was actually the only time slot still available. We arrived at 4:55 and were seated immediately on the enclosed patio. With the strategic placement of a few small space heaters it was a comfortable temperature. I ordered an appetizer and salad for myself because I knew the meal portions are large. My husband had the salmon which is on the regular menu. The food was wonderful, as usual, and we enjoyed the atmosphere and service as well. We will definitely be returning in the future.

The food was wonderful. We had the filet and lobster. It was quite frustrating because we we seated next to a group of 6 that were extremely loud. It was hard to converse with one another as a result.
