Food was great. One thing to note, Opentable incorrectly lists one of the parking garages that the restaurant validates. They do not validate for the first garage listed and parking there is 10$.
We love this place for dinner so decided to check it out at lunch. The buffet was amazing. I so appreciate the plethora of vegetarian options!!! And I really enjoy all my vegan options. My husband appreciates all of the flavorful meat dishes and said the 2 chicken dishes on the buffet were wonderful. The same great people are always there to serve you. This is one of our favorite places!!
Service was decent just slow. Took over 20 mins before appetizer came out
Owner was great, came to our table and very friendly. However, food was marginal.
Some of the dishes were wonderful (Saag perfectly spiced). Others less-so (the Yak momos were under steamed so the noodle wraps were dry and tough). But overall good value for the prices and very friendly hosts.
Nice Indian food! Good service and prices are really good.
THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE RESTAURANTS IN PASADENA. WE ALWAYS HAVE A GREAT MEAL.
THE VEGETABLES ARE COOKED TO PERFECTION, NEVER OVER DONE OR DISGUISED AS THEY ARE IN SOME INDIAN RESTAURANTS. ALTHOUGH TIBETAN HAS CERTAIN DISHES IN COMMON WITH INDIAN FOOD THERE ARE MANY SPECIALTIES THE ARE DISTINCT TO TIBET.
A Casual Plus Experience
I was not planning on getting the buffet, but my date did so I followed suit. It was small but offered a fair number of options, with a few vegetarian options (a seasoned Broccoli, Aloo Gobi (Potato and cauliflower), Daal (Lentils), steamed white rice), several others with animal protein, such as Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Curry, etc. Everything was tasty without being bland, like many buffets are. I like 'medium' spice in Indian restaurants, and this was a little shy of that, but not as mild as some places I have eaten.
The seating is comfortable, but it is all small tables, no booths. The water glass I used had a noticeable chip out of the base, but wasn't worth hassling anyone over.
The servers checked on us frequently and filled our glasses as often.
I ordered the Apricot Naan because I had seen it online on the menu and I love apricot anything. It was yummy, almost a dessert :) Too bad I am allergic to mango so I could not try it with the mango chutney it is served with.
Great variety of dishes with subtle differences from Indian menus. Wide a la carte selection as well as buffet at a great value. Service is friendly and attentive.
We ordered several dishes to sample a range, but three of them seemed to have exactly the same sauces, despite different descriptions. We asked for spicy, but the food still seemed a bit bland. We will go again but next time ask for extra spicy. Staff was attentive, despite what I read in previous reviews and it was a busy Saturday night.
Great - but small - Northern Indian restaurant
Food is delicious
I eat here whenever I come into Pasadena for business
The yak momo dumplings with dipping sauce are a great appetizer to share
Much less vinegar in the recipes than other Indian restaurants - and I like this style
If you like it extra hot, just ask and they accommodate without making it so hot/spicy that the flavors cannot be tasted
If you like Indian food this is a place to try
Have come here to this restaurant many times. Been here for over 16 yrs. Excellent food prepared authentically. Great ambience.
Took my landlords out for lunch. Was looking for an Indian place and Tibet Nepal House's timings and buffet option was the most convenient.
The food was great, simple Indian food the way it should be.
Service is always great here. The team is friendly and accommodating.
Food was less than mediocre. Good portions but bland and not tasty.
Had reservations at 9:45 PM. Arrived at 9:30 but they had closed the kitchen. Completely unapologetic. A very disappointing experience.
What an amazing restaurant. Its like no place else , the flavors are unique and consistently delicious. Ask about the " world's best beer"I think it may be just that.
Saturday evening was so understaffed it took nearly an hour to get our food.
Amazing food service can be improved and it would be great gem restaurant
Bad service. Food was bland.
Good food, portions on smaller side, yak is good
Several vegetarian options offered at lunch. It was all delicious...perhaps too delicious; it was tough to resist taking second helpings from the buffet. The kheer was only lightly sweetened, which I very much liked. Self-serve at lunch, but the food was replenished and plates cleared promptly.
The food is really not that good. I would not recommend this restaurant.... My honest opinion and I am a real food lover.
Only my second time eating Nepalese food and it was fun and healthy. I didn't try the Yak; maybe next time. The vegetables were prepared perfectly. The spices were interesting and the meal filling. I would highly recommend this place if you like southern Asian cuisine. They have an extensive selection of Vgean dishes as well .
Really flavorful dishes and well-priced. We'll definitely come back!
We were staying in nearby old Pasadena and found Tibet Nepal House. The menu is diverse and has many options for vegetarians. Everyone tried something new and we were all pleased with the meals. We would go back in we were in Pasadena again.
There needs to be more wait staff and cooks, as we waited for half an hour just for bread.
This was the second time we here and it wasn't as good as our first meal. We would, however, try it again as their menu is an interesting one.
After reading about Tibetan Nepal House in a magazine, we decided to give it a try on a recent visit to Pasadena. The people are so lovely and the food was really interesting.
Nepalese cuisine is definitely distinct from Indian, and very delicious. The flat breads were great. Ask your server for recommendations. We had vegetable curries, lamb, and salads. Wonderful with a very pleasant atmosphere. The place was packed, make a reservation. It’s obviously popular with the locals.
Been there several times before. Unique and delicious food. Similar to Indian food. The service has been always friendly and attentive.
I really enjoy this restaurant. I've been here on many occasions, day and night, and it consistently delivers quality.
Went here for a double date! The food was sooo good. Similar to indian food but lighter! We ordered the shrimp masala, veggie fried rice, chicken tandoori, and garlic naan bread. Yummmmmmy! Will definately be back here!!!!
We enjoyed a variety of appetizers, entrees and sides. All were tasty and robust with flavor. The service was attentive but not too friendly. I would definitely recommend and I would go back.
Had a pleasant dinner with my family. Food was tasty and authentic and service good.
Everything was average, no more, no less. I wouldn't strike it off my list but it isn't a place that I would say I have to go back to
We love Tibet Nepal House. I am vegan, my husband is not. And when we come dine here, there's just great food for the both of us. Lots of options. The staff is knowledgable of what vegan means, so they are happy to guide us in our choices.
I love the decor. High ceilings decorated with Yeti footprints that have been colored/designed by past patrons, and an overall peaceful atmosphere.
The champagne brunch seems to be the most popular reason people frequent this restaurant. Out of ~10 parties, we were the only table who ordered off the regular menu. The regular menu is a bit pricey and I would recommend using a Restaurant.com coupon for dining here. Overall, the food and service were very good.
The Yak was a bit tough but otherwise everything was very good, especially the Muligatawny soup, lamb curry and garlic naan bread. Good value for the dollar.
I have been coming since I discovered this in 2003. I love the food and the no fuss atmosphere. I had my first date with my husband here, and we return every excuse we get.
I reserved a table at 10pm but when my party reached the staff said they are already closed. I told them that they shouldn't let people reserve a table at a time when they are closed - they replied unapologetically that I should have checked their website for timings. I will obviously never go back there
I went to Tibet Nepal House with my wife, daughter, son-in-law and 10-month old grandchild. The atmosphere was very traditional and colorful, the service very good and the food was excellent, plus it was very reasonably priced. Some of the dishes were mild enough for a baby just starting to eat solid food, others were intense and spicy. Overall, we all enjoyed our meal and will be back again soon.
