Tibet Nepal House
Great gem of a find! I've been going here for years!
Excellent momos and samosas. Have eaten here many times.....where else can you find Yak?? Perfectly seasoned every time. Nice atmosphere and in a great quiet location. Friends always love to eat here - so do my wife and I. Enjoy!
Excellent Tibetan food and well worth the price. Yak Momo and Veggie Momo is great. There are the typical Indian like dishes and the special Tibetan / Nepalese dishes. Service is pretty good and we went with a party of 9 for a family reunion. Eat here regularly, food is always great - at a great price. Definitely recommend it.
We took a large family party on a Monday night. They accommodated us quickly. The service was a little slow, but they are a family operation with a small family. The waiter was very helpful once he had time to take our order. The food was excellent and was shared by all.
We arrived on time on Valentine's weekend. I made a reservation because the restaurant is small and...well, it was a holiday weekend! No host at all. There was a line out the door and ask tables were filled. Spoke to the owner, who was acting as waiter and host, but he had no record of it reservation. Not only that, he was rude to my wife! I waited for ten minutes and two "just give me a minute" statements before my wife and I finally left. The good smelled and looked good. Maybe that's why it was packed. But if you can't keep up with a simple reservation, then don't offer the service. This restaurant shouldn't be on Open Table.
We Loved Tibet Nepal House. We will be coming back here to eat
Food is quite tasty. The spicy vindaloo wasn’t THAT spicy. Very much like Indian food, so we ordered as many things as we couldn’t recognize as we could. The Yak is quite good.
Tuesday evening date with wife. Greeted and prompted with a table. Server very helpful with items on menu. Food great and tasty, and abundance for leftovers. Will come back.
Really good food. We had Yak Momo which wasfantastic. lamb sekuwa was very tasty
This restaurant was recommended to us--wow, it fell flat. On arriving, we walked to the back of the restaurant to find someone to check in with. He asked how many, I said we were four and had a reservation, and he asked if we were with some other party already seated. He never asked for the name...
Would have laughed it all off, but the food was a disappointment as well. Appetizers were good. Mains were not good, for different reasons: salmon tikka was dry--over cooked; chicken tikka masala was bland and daal was extremely watery. Yak stew had all 3 issues: over cooked yak, bland, and watery (more soup than stew to be sure). Sad to have wasted a dining opportunity on bad food in a town that has great food.
Although service was slow, we think it may have been because the food tastes like nothing is prepped ahead of time. Everything was very fresh and tasted wonderful!
This place came highly recommended on the Internet, and I understand why. The food was excellent. The Tibetian specialties were excellent but even the more standard Indian fare was outstanding. The palak paneer was the best I have ever had and I know a number of fine Indian and Bangladeshi restaurants. This place is definitely worth trying.
Ate at restaurant prior to attending concert at The Rose. Food was tasty, courteous servers and nice, relaxing atmosphere. Food was served promptly and servers were attentive to our needs. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and will return to restaurant in the near future.
What a great local restaurant. Easy walk from the Marriott. Interesting menus and fresh home cooking.
I tried the Salmon Curry along with a glass of red wine and non bread. What a great meal.
The waitstaff was attentive but not hovering. Thank you.
I would dine here again.
The wine list was not as selective as one would desire. The meal menu for my first time there was a little confusing. The waiter was gracious in explaining. Took my daughter for mother daughter time. She said that her meal was very tasty. Mine as well was very good. Brought what I could not eat home. Had it for lunch the next day and it was just as good.
We come here all of the time. The lunch buffet is such a great value with its variety and economical price. As a vegan, I appreciate how many options are on the menu. It’s wonderful to see the same servers here each time as well. We are always greeted warmly. This is one of our family’s favorite places.
Food was great. One thing to note, Opentable incorrectly lists one of the parking garages that the restaurant validates. They do not validate for the first garage listed and parking there is 10$.
We love this place for dinner so decided to check it out at lunch. The buffet was amazing. I so appreciate the plethora of vegetarian options!!! And I really enjoy all my vegan options. My husband appreciates all of the flavorful meat dishes and said the 2 chicken dishes on the buffet were wonderful. The same great people are always there to serve you. This is one of our favorite places!!
Service was decent just slow. Took over 20 mins before appetizer came out
Owner was great, came to our table and very friendly. However, food was marginal.
Some of the dishes were wonderful (Saag perfectly spiced). Others less-so (the Yak momos were under steamed so the noodle wraps were dry and tough). But overall good value for the prices and very friendly hosts.
Nice Indian food! Good service and prices are really good.
THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE RESTAURANTS IN PASADENA. WE ALWAYS HAVE A GREAT MEAL.
THE VEGETABLES ARE COOKED TO PERFECTION, NEVER OVER DONE OR DISGUISED AS THEY ARE IN SOME INDIAN RESTAURANTS. ALTHOUGH TIBETAN HAS CERTAIN DISHES IN COMMON WITH INDIAN FOOD THERE ARE MANY SPECIALTIES THE ARE DISTINCT TO TIBET.
A Casual Plus Experience
I was not planning on getting the buffet, but my date did so I followed suit. It was small but offered a fair number of options, with a few vegetarian options (a seasoned Broccoli, Aloo Gobi (Potato and cauliflower), Daal (Lentils), steamed white rice), several others with animal protein, such as Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Curry, etc. Everything was tasty without being bland, like many buffets are. I like 'medium' spice in Indian restaurants, and this was a little shy of that, but not as mild as some places I have eaten.
The seating is comfortable, but it is all small tables, no booths. The water glass I used had a noticeable chip out of the base, but wasn't worth hassling anyone over.
The servers checked on us frequently and filled our glasses as often.
I ordered the Apricot Naan because I had seen it online on the menu and I love apricot anything. It was yummy, almost a dessert :) Too bad I am allergic to mango so I could not try it with the mango chutney it is served with.
Great variety of dishes with subtle differences from Indian menus. Wide a la carte selection as well as buffet at a great value. Service is friendly and attentive.
We ordered several dishes to sample a range, but three of them seemed to have exactly the same sauces, despite different descriptions. We asked for spicy, but the food still seemed a bit bland. We will go again but next time ask for extra spicy. Staff was attentive, despite what I read in previous reviews and it was a busy Saturday night.
Great - but small - Northern Indian restaurant
Food is delicious
I eat here whenever I come into Pasadena for business
The yak momo dumplings with dipping sauce are a great appetizer to share
Much less vinegar in the recipes than other Indian restaurants - and I like this style
If you like it extra hot, just ask and they accommodate without making it so hot/spicy that the flavors cannot be tasted
If you like Indian food this is a place to try
Have come here to this restaurant many times. Been here for over 16 yrs. Excellent food prepared authentically. Great ambience.
Took my landlords out for lunch. Was looking for an Indian place and Tibet Nepal House's timings and buffet option was the most convenient.
The food was great, simple Indian food the way it should be.
Service is always great here. The team is friendly and accommodating.
Food was less than mediocre. Good portions but bland and not tasty.
Had reservations at 9:45 PM. Arrived at 9:30 but they had closed the kitchen. Completely unapologetic. A very disappointing experience.
What an amazing restaurant. Its like no place else , the flavors are unique and consistently delicious. Ask about the " world's best beer"I think it may be just that.
Saturday evening was so understaffed it took nearly an hour to get our food.
Amazing food service can be improved and it would be great gem restaurant
Bad service. Food was bland.
Good food, portions on smaller side, yak is good
Several vegetarian options offered at lunch. It was all delicious...perhaps too delicious; it was tough to resist taking second helpings from the buffet. The kheer was only lightly sweetened, which I very much liked. Self-serve at lunch, but the food was replenished and plates cleared promptly.
The food is really not that good. I would not recommend this restaurant.... My honest opinion and I am a real food lover.
Only my second time eating Nepalese food and it was fun and healthy. I didn't try the Yak; maybe next time. The vegetables were prepared perfectly. The spices were interesting and the meal filling. I would highly recommend this place if you like southern Asian cuisine. They have an extensive selection of Vgean dishes as well .
Really flavorful dishes and well-priced. We'll definitely come back!
