Tiara Restaurant - Queen's Landing Hotel Ratings and Reviews
Disappointed. Waitress offered athe Hotel shuttle service but we were turned down by the driver as our B&B was “too far”... literally 5 minutes away... while waiting 1/2 hour for a cab, we overheard him taking guests to a winery two minutes from where we were staying. Beyond that, the food was so so... not worth the price with so many other good options.
Waiter was wonderful !
Charcuterie plate was overpriced for what was on it.
Coffee is extremely weak, however when we went for breakfast the next morning and I ordered an espresso to add to our coffee pot to make it stronger, we weren't charged for the espresso. Appreciated. :)
40th Anniversary celebration. We were entertained by special attention provided by our server Rudy. He assured our satisfaction with all aspects of the evening and surprised us with a thoughtful presentation of the dessert order. Rudy willingly assisted with photos that have become our treasured memories of a wonderful evening. The food was exceptional and prepared exactly to our liking. Highly recommend this restaurant for a quiet, romantic evening , ask for Rudy
We have been to Niagara-on-the-Lake many times. I have never had a bad experience until we visited Tiara. It started out great. Our Sommelier was very pleasant. She recommended a wine we were quite enjoying. My husband had the Risotto and it was good. No complaints there. The escargot appetizer he had was really bland but he finished it. I ordered the special which was duck breast. It was cut very thick and it was really tough. I told our waitress who REALLY wanted me to order another meal. I declined because I had an appetizer and my husband had already almost finished his meal. She then tried to get me to order a dessert...pretty standard when one doesn't get a meal. I declined. We asked for the bill and when it came the bottle of wine listed was not what we had. The waitress had looked at the bottle previous so she was well aware. It was also still in the stand! It turned into a big deal....why do you need a manager to make a correction on the bill? It was really odd. Overall, not a great experience.
The food at Tiara is excellent. Portions are fare, not too much. The service is also excellent. We made reservations, but probably did not need them. Dinner prices are on the high side, so frequent dining there would not be for us. For special occasions or infrequent dining, it is a great place.
Daily salad special was very good but value was questionable. 1 smallish bunch of charred romaine with dressing and a couple of cheese shavings was $18.
Entree was chicken. Received two slices of a chicken breast which maybe added up to about a half a medium breast. I think it was around $30. Again very well prepared but small portion for the average male. Large basket of fresh breads hardly makes up for the small portions.
Took my girlfriend here for her birthday and they did not disappoint! When I made the reservation I had mentioned it was for a birthday and when we ordered dessert they had a special message/presentation prepared for that which was an awesome surprise! Great service, fantastic food and excellent ambiance. Highly recommend it for your next date night!
We stayed at Queen's Landing hotel and had dinner one night at Tiara Restaurant. Staff was very attentive and knowledgeable. Setting is beautiful at this very upscale restaurant. Food was excellent. As hotel guests we had a special rate as part of a dining package, making the meal an excellent value. Only drawback is that we were seeing an 8 pm show at the Shaw Festival. With a 6 pm dinner reservation we thought we had plenty of time, but we had to rush through dessert. Tiara is geared to slow leisurely dining, not to pre-theatre
This was our second dinner at Tiara. The first time was perfect on all counts and the reason we looked forward to celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary there. Unfortunately, they seemed to be understaffed and the waitress we had was not attentive, perhaps covering too many tables. I had mentioned ahead of time we were celebrating our anniversary but no mention was made during our meal. The food was well-prepared and the atmosphere exceptional. The only complaint was the lack of service. We had two breakfasts in the hotel and both of those had the quality of service we expected.
Came for dinner for our anniversary and had an amazing time. This restaurant has a wonderful ambience and impeccable service. Absolutely amazing service!! The beef tenderloin is wonderful, as well as the arrancini and accompaniments. My only complaint was that the lobster tail was not so good, but other than that everything was great from their atmosphere to the food and wine selection. It was a wonderful evening.
Our evening at Tiara was lovely, with a table overlooking the harbour and a beautiful view across the Niagara River. We both enjoyed the chef's tasting menu which provided a nice variety and an excellent meal, with enjoyable wine pairings as well. Highly recommended!
My husband and I had a lovely dinner at Tiara's. We stayed in the hotel (Queens Landing) for two nights and enjoyed the getaway. The only disappointment with dinner was the fact that I had requested a window-side table because it was a special birthday celebration for my husband. I had requested this when the reservation was made -- a month previously -- and also requested it again when we checked in on Tuesday, Aug. 15. However, when we arrived for our reservations there were NO tables at the window. I feel the request should have been honored. It will still a nice experience. Thanks.
Restaurant was good, we had a table by the window with a pretty view. It was our anniversary. Our server was Rose and she was perfectly attentive. Portions are moderately sized. Dinner for two came to about C$200 all in (two appetizers, two entrees, one dessert, one bottle of house wine, plus tax and tip). Would recommend for any special occasion.
We returned to Tiara after an exceptional experience last year. This year was not nearly as special. I think it depends on the server you get. Ask for Rudy. My filet was too done and although I didn't send it back, the manager did deliver a new one done to perfection. I was, of course, too full to eat it but it was a great gesture. It was our 46th anniversary and I expected a little better treatment but maybe "you can't go home again". I may try it again. It is a gorgeous restaurant. This year a group of very loud people were at a table and they did ruin an otherwise romantic celebration for us. Maybe by my next trip, the restaurant will be up to its usual standards. It is, after all, very expensive and fancy and so the atmosphere should reflect that.
