Ti Piacera Ratings and Reviews
Food was delicious and the portions were just right. All 5 of us were happy with our dishes which ranged from pasta carbonara to the pork chop and mashed potatoes. Our server wasn't too friendly and seemed sort of anxious. But, it didn't ruin our night - just made it awkward to interact with him. They had the Warriors game on TV which I like, but it didn't feel like a sports bar.
Great authentic Italian cuisine without having to go to North Beach. Close and convenient to Financial District & Nob Hill. Stayed at The Fairmont and it was a quick direct Uber ride to the restaurant. The photo of the restaurant on Open Table is a little deceiving. Front dining area photo is during daylight and looks a little plain with bar like atmosphere. In the evening, the dining area is actually cozy with great seating. Still casual but nice. Window tables are great for people and city watching. Food smelled great and tasted even better.
We had a table of 8 for dinner, and it was a birthday celebration. The food was really good, but the service was terrible. So slow. And it wasn't even crowded. Two of us didn't get our meals until the rest of the group was nearly finished. Really poor service.
The sole was delicious! So was the garlic and oil and bread. I wish I knew the name of the light sauce it was in, because I would try to make it. I would also come back just for the sole time and time again. Only bummer was that it was very loud and difficult to hear people at our table. They had a large group in the front party room and the doors were open to the rest of the restaurant.
Six of us met for a birthday lunch. I chose Ti Piacera based on the location, website and menu. I was hoping for a cozy, quiet place. It was cozy but a little noisy. We adjusted to the noise level just fine. Our waiter was very nice and did his job well. We were all happy with the food. Three of us had the sole, and we all raved about it. The sauce was lemony, and the artichokes added some sweetness. I don't know exactly what made it so good, but it was really stunning. The potatoes were roasted to a nice brown crispness. Great dish! We decided to get two desserts for the six of us to share. The chocolate truffles were nice, but the NY cheesecake (topped with fresh strawberries and a birthday candle) was smooth, creamy and delicious! We did not feel rushed at all and were able to sit for a while after our meal and catch up with one another. The waiter even took some photos of us with my phone. All in all, just the experience I was hoping for. I don't live in the city, but I'll go back to Ti Piacera on one of my future visits.
Restaurant got decent reviews and looked cute when we walked in, but the music was loud (and awful). Our server had a bit of an attitude problem from the start and was borderline rude and seemed annoyed by our presence. My husband's glass of wine had dust floating in it, and when he asked for a clean glass the server huffed and brought him a much dustier glass with specks floating in it. Salads were decent. My pasta dish was bland and my husband's pork chop inedible. Very disappointing experience. We won't be back....
Really cute little Italian restaurant in Nob Hill neighborhood. We were visiting from out of town and fell in love with the ambiance. Food was good - reasonably priced and great portions. Wine was delicious and also very reasonable. Tiramisu was out of this world!!!
The shrimp was clearly frozen and not kept fresh. It was soft in mouthfeel. The pasta more hard than al dente. The one GREAT thing about this place is the service. We felt very taken care of ... it's just that the food doesnt wow... or even beat a TV frozen dinner. :(
I take that back the garlic and sundried tomatoes olive oil was great with the bread. After that it was downhill.
Brought a group of adults with special needs here on a trip. The staff was very friendly and engaging with the group. They handled the size of the group very well, considering we didn't know the city and restaurants around, we made a last minute reservation for 15. Thank you to the restaurant and our waiter for being so accommodating. When I'm back in SF on my own vacation I will definitely try and come back here!
