We hadn't been there since it reopened. We were very happy, and will return.
Good ambiance, overall. Food was OK - a bit bland. Good service.
The Pasta dishes were quite good. Good flavors and texture etc. 2 of us had the Veal chop. How can a Veal Chop be so darn fatty? I felt ill the next day.
Loved our waiter...great service! We probably will come back, but stick to the Pasta.
Great desserts though!
The prices are on the high side; although the service was very good. The food was good, but there are other Italian restaurants in and near Laguna which we like better. It's a nice restaurant for a change if you keep going to the same place. We liked the decor better at the old Ti Amo. This decor is bland, and we miss the authentic music. Not sure if we'll come back.
Il Barone has always been great and they don't disappoint you at their South Laguna Beach location. Same delicious food.
The wine was expensive and terrible. Ralph's has better wine on the lowest shelf. The special was sole in a butter-wine sauce. Frozen then put under a hot iron--sludgy and transparent. Vegetables cooked to sludge, potatoes starchy, stale bread. Lovely atmosphere, friendly wait staff, but please, use fresh ingredients, not something from the bottom of a freezer.
Excellent service, delicious meal, great wine list, will be going back soon.
Love The New TiAmo by IL Barone! Love them in New Port Beach and now they are closer to us in Laguna! Staff really cares about you and their food and service! Francesco was Amazing! Donatello’s Nephew! Special occasions or everyday eating it’s a special place!
Absolutely fabulous hidden gem in Laguna Beach. Food was exceptional and service/ambiance was excellent. Highly recommend Ti Amo providing home made pasta, delicious veal and appetizers.
this is great Italian restaurant in South Laguna. Being away from the tourists makes it a special place, so "NO TOURISTS" please. Let's keep it local!
Did not have requested entré at 7:30 pm on a Sat nite!??
Other entré, Halibut, was dry, over cooked without vegetables other than spinach- I.e., no choice and this was there special.
Wine was good but expensive.
Haven't been to Ti Amo in quite a while but was very pleasantly surprised. People were great and the food was outstanding. We'll be back soon.
It was very good, just a bit noisy. The service was good from everyone we met.
My friend and I ordered fish. She got the special, halibut and I got the sole. Both of us got sick. Really unfortunate.
We really enjoyed ourselves. Tried the special menu for OC Restaurant Week. I had Sole, and my wife enjoyed Chicken Marsalla. Both were delicious. Wonderful service. This was our first opportunity to enjoy Ti Amo with new ownership. Great!! They really need to advertise that they have reopened, as there was just a few diners. Thank you for wonderful experience. Steve
Careful with the "specials". Wife and I were going to start off diner by splitting a house salad ($8.95). Instead we were talked into splitting 'special' Burrata Cheese salad. Small in size and not worth the extra price. When bill came I saw we were charged $19 for this average plate of greens with a lump of cheese... and it wasn't pre-split as I requested. Wife's seafood medley 'special' was good, but at $38 wasn't that much different than the Seafood Linguini on menu for $25.95. I ordered Ribeye 'special' for $47 and can't recommend it. Very rarely do I order steak at a non-steakhouse and this was a perfect example of why I don't. Although prime beef, it didn't compare to a Fleming's Ruth's Chris, Capital Grille or Maestro's steak. All these mentioned restaurants have special grills for cooking their steaks and they are charred at an extremely high heat. An Italian restaurant simply doesn't have the capacity to prepare a steak like a high-end steakhouse can. It was ok, but not anything that I couldn't have done at home for a fraction of the cost. Medium rare on inside, but soft, not charred, on outside. Didn't have the "Oh my God" factor after first bite that should accompany an expensive steak.
Bottom line, Ti Amo was decent but was much more expensive than Ristorante Rumari up the street, an Italian restaurant which has a similar ambiance at a lower overall cost.
Truffle ravioli was great, our fish came out warm as felt like it had been under the heat lamp too long.
We came to Ti Amo before the theater. We miscalculated the time we had available to dine. They staff were very cooperative in getting us out on time without feeling rushed. The food was excellent! We had the pizza as an appetizer- perfect size and the lightest fluffiest pizza I have ever had! I had the Pappardella Lamb Ragout. It was delicious! Others had the scallop linguini special and they raved! We are anxious to return to Ti Amo for a leisurely meal!
We love il Barone!!! Quaint, wonderful food, great service, neighborhood gem!!!
New Ownership. Terrific Italian food. Sunset was lovely, but distant ocean view. Service was excellent. Will definitely come back as the restaurant feels like you are enjoying a meal in a Tuscany neighborhood home.
We are very happy for the Barone's. They have done a fantastic job with the menu and service. My wife and I went for a belated Valentine's dinner (as mid-week is hard to do) and they did not disappoint. We're very glad to have Ti Amo back!!
The other patrons showed displeasure we had children in our group of 9 although they were well behaved and well-mannered. One of them is diabetic and my daughters administration of her shot before she eats was frowned on. Most of us received cold food which is why I can only give this place 3 stars. Also valet parking was $6, we should have parked free on the street. Would not go back to this restaurant.
First time at Ti Amo. Service was good. They did not have our requested appetizer but substitute of calamari was very good. Ordered orecchiette and osso bucco with rice. Pasta was slightly undercooked but nice flavor. Osso Bucco was dry and rice was hard and inedible. Might try again after they work out some problems.
Well, I was expecting to be wowed as I have eaten at Il Barone in Irvine many times for lunch and the food has always been excellent. Had a French waiter last time there who was exceptional. Unfortunately, that was not my experience at Ti Amo by Il Barone. With the exception of my special, the lobster ravioli, the three other guests were treated to exceptionally bland, undercooked pasta. They didn't even want to take leftovers home. The waiter was a bit curt, had to keep asking for water, the atmosphere could be described as romantic where we were sitting but it needs to be updated. Looks the same as 25 years ago. Kinda dingy and dirty looking.
Enjoyed our meal, the pasta was so authentic.
I highly recommend this restaurant
Great food, service, & atmosphere. People are wonderful.....very nice family ownership. Difficult to access when coming from the south but, aside from that, it is always a pleasure
to eat at Il Barone's.
Booked Valentines Evening, not advised of holiday dinner, special pricing, over priced, failed in expectations, ambiance less than remembrance of previous visit. Disappointing dining experience.
I made a special request to be sat in a booth as it was my husband and I’s first married Valentine’s Day dinner. Upon observation I quickly learned the restaurant had no booths. The hostess and a waitress looked at the available tables to seat us and the issue of a child being in the four table, more quaint, and quiet room came up. The hostess did not even ask our preference and took the waitresses opinion of seating us in the noisy, tense, and impersonal common area. I was very dissatisfied by this, not to mention there was apparently a prefixed menu which was not advertised nor divulged upon reservation. Besides those issues, the food was great. In future I would recommend the hostess always ask the consumers their opinion for seating when the hostess believes an issue with seat placement exists.
Very romantic, great service, good Italian food. Highly recommendable!
Great food, awesome service, good mexican waiter.
Nice wine list.
Food and ambience was acceptable...but not as good as the Irvine location. We were there on a Thursday night and the place was empty. Not sure they’re going to make it?
My wife and I enjoyed our time at your establishment. We were hesitant on returning to your place due to lackluster service received from the last ownership. Your restaurant has made a remarkable turnaround and personal impression. We are looking forward on going back to enjoy great food and ambience. Thank you for a great night.
The service and food were excellent as always. We really enjoy it here each and every time we visit it.
The next time we go, I hope they have OSSO BUCCO!!
The service without Donatella present is subpar to say the least.
Hostess was slightly disorganized. Dining room is cozy, but quirky at the same time. Table placement is key to having a nice experience. Service was decent and food ok, not as good as Il Barone’s Newport Beach location, so maybe still working out the kinks at this location.
Fabulous! An Irvine favorite, now closer to home in Laguna!
Massimo was great! The food, wine, and atmosphere was perfect.
I love this restaurant. It is authentic and delicious and I love the service and ambiance of the place! Hidden gem!
Very good food over the top just an excellent experience all the way around
