If it wasn't for the incredibly poor service, I would have recommended this place. The location and atmosphere are excellent and the food prices are a great value. However, we made a 12:45pm reservation since my son was graduating from college and we had to be there by 2:15pm, plenty of time. We ordered quickly and didn't get served till 1:30pm. I noticed that no fewer than 3 tables who came in after us got served before us. Mind you we were only 4 people, not a big group which can get delayed. When I followed up w/ the server to explain our concern, she gave me this look. Well we gobbled down the food (which by the way my eggs benedict was lukewarm at best) and rushed out of there, didn't have time to tell management my disappointment. Too bad, I can see this place being a great regular place to go to.

This place is the perfect spot to grab an amazing burger. They have a wide variety of meats or you can add toppings to a regular Kobe beef burger. One of the best in DC!

We really enjoyed the beer list of local and hard-to- find brews. I loved the pickles that were set out when we sat down. The food is certainly in a league of its own. I wouldn't hesitate to order the cheese plate or the burgers again.

The food was good, although I asked the steak medium as in pink in the middle, but it was actually well cooked. I took the elk burger so at the meat is leaner, the patty was a bit dry.

My boyfriend and I had a Valentine's Day lunch at thunderburger. The food was amazing but our waitress was not attentive. We sat in the chairs upfront closest to the Windows my boyfriend had to deal with the sun bouncing off of a car in his eyes the whole time. Food was really good but disappointed by the seat location because I had made a reservation and our waitresses lack of attention

The burgers were outstanding, as were the sweet potato fries and the crawfish appetizer.
The side salad with the burger was very weak, and needs an immediate upgrade. The service was excellent!

Crab cake sandwich underwhelmed. Sweet potato fries seemed to come from different batches; some were warm some almost hot and some room temperature. Service not particularly attentive.

Went for the first time. They had a decent beer on tap list and good choices for different burgers. Had the appetizer special of buffalo frogs legs which were very good. Then an elk burger. Nice lean meat and tasty.

we went there following the comments and we made a good choice. We bad two hamburgers with french fries and the hamburges were properly cooked accoring to our taste (rare and well done), the meat was juicy, perfect. The service was really good. The only thing that we did not like was the noise level. But this restaurant is strongly advisable and if i will be back in the city, i will come back surely.

but this time our waitress was not the best. She seemed to be annoyed, maybe by our large group (we were 8, later joined by another 4) or she just had a bad day. Not once did she smile or tried to be friendly, but who cares, the burgers were great (as always) and the beer was good

In all, the food at Thunder Burger was excellent. However, when myself and my boyfriend arrived there, with a reservation, they were going to seat us at a table right by the door pushed right up against the wall and crammed in a corner (while there were multiple other two person table such as a banquet style). To top it off our server took 15 plus minutes to even stop at our table, say hello, give us water, or even get us drinks (to be fair she had a party of 15 in the back but having worked in the industry 3 years myself she should have at least come by to say she was serving us and would be with us in a couple minutes). We did have another server come by and say hello about five minutes in but he said he could not take any orders from us at all. In all, I may be willing to try Thunder Burger again, simply because the food was outstanding (and it did come in a timely manner) but I would be wary of the service and tables, even if one has reservations.

The burger itself was good but the spinach dip tasted like it was microwaved. It needs to be hot and fresh. I also expected more from a place that specializes in burgers. I thought the place also needed more ventilation

We were dropping our younger son off to college and also visiting our older son and his roommate who have both entered the working world and wanted someplace fun and with good food. Thunder Burger fit the bill. The appetizers (wings) were great and we all had burgers for dinner. The beer selection was modest but tasty. The best part of the night though was the service. Our waiter was patient, knowledgeable and attentive. He made the experience very pleasurable and when we had a slight issue it was taken care of immediately and professionally.

Thunder Burger was overall a good experience. The food was great, The only two complaints I have are: The thunder fries are not all they are cracked up to be. They were good, but they just tasted like average french fries. I didn't really get any garlic flavor from them. Also if you go to thunder burger around 6pm expect your waitress to be non-existent. The place fills up and they seemed to be a bit overwhelmed. I like the variety of protein they offer, everything from chicken to buffalo. I would go back.

We noted and mentioned that a member of the family had a nut allergy. When we ordered their cheese plate, which was overpriced and not tasty at all, it was served with a walnut mixed something or another. The cheese plate went to waste, and they charged us for it. The server did at least box our food up for us, which is a dying service that we really appreciate.

My husband and I were in town and we stopped in for after-dinner drinks on a Saturday night. The bar was hopping! We sat at the bar and felt the bartenders could have been more attentive. The seemed more concerned about talking to each other than checking to see if we wanted anything more. We checked out the menu but already had eaten dinner. We noticed they serve breakfast items and made plans to come back the next morning for brunch. One of our friends is in a wheelchair and they had told her over the phone that they are handicap accessible. It turns out they are not---they do not have a ramp for the front step. Luckily, she had a portable ramp in her van and one of the staff came with us to get it and carry it. He also helped when she was ready to leave. The staff was very apologetic and brought over an appetizer to make amends. Once we were settled, we all enjoyed the food and drink. I had a Mojito Royale (mojito with champagne) and the nutella crepes---both delicious!

I have been a faithful patron of Thunder Burger since it opened. The food has remained consistent though out the years, and it still an great place to go for a quality burger and excellent service; however, the quality of the beer menu has DRASTICALLY declined and there are now cobwebs hanging between the rafters. I used to go there to enjoy a wide selection of hard to find and rare beers that paired well with the menu and current season. Being the beginning of September I expected to see a variety of harvest beers and brown ales, but instead found a menu that was heavy with pale ales, and bright IPAs, and the only two unique beers in the menu were sold out, I'm sure because of the lack of variety among the others. Thunder Burger needs to find a new beverage manager if they intend to maintain the draw they used to have, and until then, it's nothing more then a burger joint with a beer menu.
