Reservations is the key during the lunch hours during the work week. My co-worker and I had the braised lamb lettuce appetizer, Sushi and dessert. Fantastic food! I had the creme brulee and he had the flourless chocolate cake. Both were just the right portion to end a great lunch.
The menu gives a variety of choices. If you want finger foods they have some great Tapas choices and if you want a full meal they have awesome choices as well. The tables are a little close together but other than that this was a great place to have dinner.
We waited a while for 2 entrees and drinks. We also waited a long time for a cold desert and our server went from very attentive to pretty slow.
This place was awesome! The customer service from beginning to end was top notch and the food was really good. Thank you for making this a great Valentine’s Day! 🤗😘
Food was great! However the service was just ok and didn’t see any free valet parking had to pay $10.
I took my husband here for his birthday (Valentine's Day), so their was a set menu, but it was still delicious. We want to go back and check out the full menu.
When I return, I will asked to be seated in Joseph's section. He was GREAT.
The food was fair, but the service was very slow. They missed the dressing for the beet salad and the beets were undercooked (hard)
The food at the restaurant was very good! The sushi is always on point here. Our waitress was a little sarcastic and slow. Overall we enjoyed the experience would have been better with a better waitress.
Outstanding food and excellent waitress. Quite pleased with everything. The only negative was at one point the restaurant became crowded and the waitress was overwhelmed with customers. At that point our drink and dessert orders too a long time to obtain.
Food took well over an hour.
Great food, sushi is excellent.
dinner entrees- shrimp & grits and salmon perfect.
appetizers we had calamari and brussel sprouts.
Everything was perfect.
My wife and I stopped in Thrive before a Saturday evening ATL Hawks game. While the game was a stinker, our meal at Thrive was fantastic!
We started off with a Kyoto sushi sampler platter, "Chef's choice", that was excellent and a solid value at $19.
For the main course I had the cornmeal encrusted grouper sandwich. It was light and perfectly fried with a delicious fried green tomato included. I paired it with a side of the sweet and sour Brussel sprouts for a small upcharge ($2) over fries, well worth it as the sprouts were outstanding and the portion was sizable.
My wife enjoyed the crunchy broccoli with cashews side and the cucumber & crab salad as her main choices. Both were colorful, carefully constructed, packed with flavor and amply sized.
Along with our meal we enjoyed a bottle of Sauvigon Blanc.
Lastly, service. Our server Carlos was very solid. He had great insights on the menu, particularly enthusiastic about the Brussel sprouts ("they are so good they will change your life"...). Carlos was fun but also had a strong technical POV about the food and beverage range.
I knew absolutely nothing about Thrive until finding them in a google search of restaurants around Philips Arena. So glad my wife and I gave them a shot.
At about $112 all in (which included a 20% gratuity), Thrive is not inexpensive, but the quality, construction and flavors of the food coupled the ambiance and stellar service make Thrive a strong value.
Went for my daughter's 14th birthday along with our other daughter and my wife. We love the sushi at Thrive and they did not disappoint. We had a new sushi item (the coconut one) and it was excellent. Then we wanted more sushi and the waiter made a great suggestion and offered to replace the salmon (wife not a fan of salmon) with yellow-tail and it was also outstanding. Thrive has been a favorite for many years and the food continues to impress.
Calamari app is insanely good. Minor criticism / suggestion would be on the fried green tomato app. Could have done a LOT more with it considering their normal level of creativity. Good but boring. Other thing I would say is though I LIKE the decor, I am surprised they have never updated it in 10 years I have been going, or perhaps light changes have been made? I guess when the food is great it does not matter a lot.
DL Special is amazing as always. Highly recommended!
Good variety on the menu. I got the centennial role. The flavors were good but would have preferred the fish to be raw. The pickled ginger tasted a bit odd. The calamari and beet salad was good. Wish they had beer on tap.
Good attention and excellent atmosphere.
Food was very good, but service was poor. We never got our appetizer and our server never knew that we hadn’t received it because he never checked on our table. We had to ask for refills and our drinks finally arrived after we had finished our meals. It wasn’t busy either. I would have cut our server some slack had it been busy, but it wasn’t.
Met expectations for atmosphere and price. Fell a bit short on service.
Very nice restaurant with good variety on the menu from fish to lamb. Nice atmosphere, 3 blocks from the Rialto Theater downtown.
A reliable place for dinner before theater or an event downtown. The tuna dinner is particularly good and they have a NZ sauvblanc on the wine list.
