Three Dots and a Dash Ratings and Reviews
It has a unique atmosphere with amazing drink options. I made reservations for a table months ago, the only issue is, I would recommend requesting a booth. We(2) sat at a 4 top table close to the bar and everyone kept putting their drinks on our table. It was incredibly annoying, the staff made attempts to move people but somewhat unsuccessfully. I would also suggest playing more than just 90's hip hop music!
Went here to get the treasure chest but decided to try a bunch of different drinks first. But we will b back at another time for the treasure. We had a reservation which I booked way far in advance, I highly recommend doing this. We got there 930pm and a line was already formed down the alley in between the velvet ropes. We had a perfect round booth so we could see everything. Noise level was perfect , loud as any bar would be on a sat night music was a nice mix a little something for everyone and it was set to a perfect volume where u still could talk to each other. Service was superb our waitress was very sweet and we never felt rushed. She always seemed to know when we needed another round. Drinks came quickly for the amount of people in the place.Every drink we had was perfect!!!! I can’t wait to go back!!!!
We had a great time at Three Dots and a Dash! My group went there as a themed evening before heading to Escape to Margaritaville, the Jimmy Buffett musical. Like any Lettuce Entertain You restaurant, they went above and beyond to accommodate someone in the group who has very restrictive dietary needs (breastfeeding and the baby has stomach issues with soy, dairy, egg, shellfish, etc). She is fine just getting by with what she can and won't complain, but they went out of their way to make sure she had something to eat and made a special sauce for her as well.
The drinks were great as well as the atmosphere. I highly recommend Three Dots and a Dash if you're looking for a fun night out. Just make sure to make a reservation because there is always a line outside!
We came to Chicago to visit all the tiki bars there and Three Dots did not disappoint. We had made reservations quite awhile before our trip which turned out to be a good move. It was very crowded on a Saturday night, but everyone was there to have a good time and enjoy the fun drinks. I was surprised that a drink is not included with the purchase of a mug, but as long as people (like me) are buying the mugs, why would they bother. The new menu was beautiful, but really only a limited choice of food items.
Another couple and I had a late night reservation for 4. Unfortunately the other couple cancelled last minute. Even though the bar was full and they had a line to get in they still worked us in within 10 minutes of the original reservation time and even apologized for the delay!
We got the platter. Extremely good finger food. The fries could stand to be replaced with something else- they didn’t really fit and didn’t really taste all that good. Other than that we liked the platter although not sure how it serves 4. The two of us finished it off by ourselves with room to spare.
The music was loud and current. That’s a good thing. It’s a bar and it was late at night. If anything it makes your significant other get closer to talk!
The drinks were amazing. They tasted good and the presentation was phenomenal. Although they don’t serve nearly as many as they claim. The serving size is small for the price but you are paying for the whole experience. If you want cheap go buy a bottle and drink at home.
All in all the best bar experience I’ve ever had. Next time I’m visiting Chicago I will make a point to go back!
I went out here for a date. It was amazing. They where kind enough to sit us after running super late. I came from the suburbs to try this place and it was amazing. Good food and drinks.! I got the skull head but with the 3 dots and a dash mix. The cinnamon didn't sound to appealing me. It was a good time. If your looking for a quiet spot this is NOT the place to be. It's super loud here like always but it's always a good time I'm super loud so it didn't bother me one bit.
Fun fun fun! The cocktails are unique, served with all the flair needed for a tiki bar. The wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, as well as friendly and attentive. You need to try the "Bye Felicia" cocktail. The entrance feels clandestine adding to the experience.
We celebrated my husbands 41st birthday here. What a fantastic time! Reservations through opentable were super easy. Drunks are strong — but sweet. So if you like not so sweet, be sure to ask your server for recommendations. Pupu platter hit the spot for early evening snacks , but additional snacks were needed for the vegetarians. Overall, a great time and a unique experience!
Had a great time! The drinks we had were pretty good and strong. We also had the Thai chicken and it was delicious. Not a cheap place to go but somewhere you should try at least once. Did notice the female waitresses pay close attention to the men, I don’t know if they think they are gonna get a bigger tip or what but it didn’t work with us because I was paying for this trip!
Love the tiki bar atmosphere and the cocktail menu is amazing. Prices for drinks are on the high side and portions of food are small. The decor is amazing and the service is great. Three Dots is not an everyday place, more for a special occasion or fun date night.
Sometimes we get crappy service in the city but not so at this bar. Prices are what you would expect for the city (15-18 per drink). Our waitress explained her favorite cocktails and food items and was very attentive without being pushy. I would love to come back more often and bummed we waited so long to come here!
Yeah.......it was ok..........nice atmosphere and cocktails great but not great if one of your party isnt a cocktail person. The food was tasty and interesting. The server was efficient and friendly.
Good for an hour and a couple of late cocktails. Liked it
This place is so much cooler than you think it will be! It's fun and tropical without being too kitschy. The drinks are delicious and strong - well worth it. The food is also really good, especially the Big Kahuna Burger. Definitely a great spot for a fun night out.
