I absolutely love this place it's like the third time I have been there the drinks are amazing but if you're looking for something to get a nice little buzz on your better off sticking with the single drinks and those big ones
Love the ambiance. Love the staff. And got to Love the Tiki Drinks.
Very good experience! The ambiance was great, we loved the tropical tiki vibe and the drinks were really good. Service is great and with a reservation (we made one 3 weeks prior, because we know how busy it can be!) everything went smoothly! Just lacked 1 thing in the platter for sharing, something like a bowl rice to go with the tapas-like platter. Other than that, amazing place and perfect for a date!
Overpriced, drinks pretty average tasting but nice presentation. It was an experience to have but I would never go more than once.
Bali Bali!!!
Always a good time here! Love the ambiance, service and drinks! Definitely a place to go for a date night or girls night!
Three Dots and a Dash was wonderful. We went for my boyfriend’s 28th birthday. I researched a ton of places, and I think this was the one that got what I wanted for him. It’s an experience. We got the Pu Pu platter which is phenomenal! And we have several drinks. We really loved the location and vibe of this place! It’s absolutely a destination to visit. The cocktails are good, however, $14-$18 is pretty pricey for a drink. But all in all, we had a great time!
Great time celebrating a graduating!
I was disappointed that I specifically requested a table NOT by the bar, because last time people were hanging on our table and yelling over us. We were sat at the same exact table and told there was nothing that could be done. Will not be coming back for anniversary because of that
Drinks were amazing, something for everyone.
Great place for drinks and appetizers! Amazing ambiance
One of my favorite places for birthday celebrations. We came here after our boozy brunch and had the most fun in this Polynesian oasis. Delicious drinks, warm service, and great energy.
The drinks are fabulous! The food is yummy and I love that you can actually hear eachother talk! I’ll be back and I’ll spread the word on this great little gem! Thank you
Great vibe....beginning with hideaway entrance through the alley. Blue highlighted stairwell with skull walled greeting. Opens into a full tiki bar filled with island themed servers, music and lots of activity with patrons wall to wall-very dark and intimate setting. Make reservation if you’d like seating, standing room only at the bar. Drinks were very unique, and exquisitely presented with tropical flowers and ornate glasses. More importantly, they were worth the near $15.00 per drink, as they were brimming with fine alcohol and flavor. Don’t forget to order the Coconut Shrimp appetizer, or two! The Poke bowl wasn’t as delectable-slightly lacking on flavor. Great place to start the evening before dinner-probably a great after dinner, or late night stop as well.
Came an hour late with my dinner date because of our lunch going over. It was fantastic as always, having come a handful of times and taking her for the first time
Always a fun time. Easier to find reservations on Mondays and Tuesdays while being surprisingly packed due to all the business travelers on corporate expense
I’ve really gotten into tiki bars the last couple of years, and Three Dots is currently my favorite. The ambience was perfect. It wasn’t too dark like some tiki bars tend to be. The food was good, but not exceptional. The drinks were phenomenal. I’ll definitely try to go back whenever I’m in Chicago.
Great spot for birthdays or girls night out!!!!!!!!
I have been to Three Dots and a Dash more times than I can remember and have yet to be disappointed. The drinks are delicious and I love the atmosphere.
We loved it. Drinks are excellent. Service was superb. Very interesting fun place to find. Great experience
Very expensive, very dark, very loud, not what I’d imagined a tiki bar to be like at all. Loud r&b pumping like any other bar and too dark to see the decor. Not kitsch or fun in any way. Very disappointing
Everything was just OKAY. The drinks were good I had 3 of the Aloha Felecia's, really fruity but not to sweet which I liked. I wouldn't recommend eating here though the food is very underwhelming, my friends and I spilt the Dino platter and the chips and guac and honestly could've done without the platter...definitely eat before coming or use this as an after dinner drink spot. The staff were moderately friendly and that's being generous, I don't even think our waitress introduced herself because no names are even ringing a bell..the staff just seemed very uninterested and rushed. I heard great things about this place so maybe my expectations were set too high but this place would not even make my top 20 recommendations list.
Such a unique, fun place! My friend and I shared a drink and there didn’t seem to be much in it the waitress checked it and it was frozen to the side and comped us the drink without me asking. We stayed in ordering more due to the great service and delicious food on the Pu pu platter.
Love the funky cocktails and party vibe of this place!
This was our first time at 3 Dots and it was great. The Cobra's Fang and the Shotsopus were fabulous. I also highly recommend the coconut shrimp and the fried chicken. Our server, Dana, was outstanding. She was very attentive and gave us great suggestions for food & drinks. This is a good place to go with a group of people, not meant for a quiet romantic dinner. It is a really loud, yet fun atmosphere.
Brought my niece there for a fun time out with different drinks and Ambiance . She loved it and of course was sending pictures of it on snap chat .
That’s a good thing !
Great place, good food, amazing fun drinks
Started the New Year right with great friends and great drinks. Couldn’t ask for more!
Fun and strong drinks! Great place to hang out
Perfect for late night catch up for some funky drinks
We made two separate reservations for groups of 8 on a Thursday night for 2 birthdays. We called ahead to request that the tables be put close together. When my friend arrived, she went to check in at the host stand and was cut off before she could even say her name. The host immediately said “we can’t put the tables together.” No hello, no welcome. Complete + utter rudeness from this host followed our entire party of 16. I am in this indmustry. I ran the door at fine dining restaurants in Chicago for years. The idea that this well-run, near iconic bar couldn’t plot out their map and put our tables near each other is ridiculous. There were multiple open tables of the same size nearby and we were seated six tables away from each other. It is so easy to accommodate guests in this business. A little bit of foresight can make someone’s experience a memorable one, for the right reasons. Three Dots didn’t care about that at all — the attitude we got for a simple request is what we will remember most.
The first thing the server said to my friend when she came to the table was, again, “we can’t seat you together.” My friend finally flagged a manager, Kurt, and asked for his staff to simply be kind to us. Nothing about the tables. Just a request to treat our guests kindly and with respect. This was all before I even arrived, 15 min after. When I walked in the host didn’t even look at me. She also didn’t allow me to get my name out. Just another reminder that they couldn’t seat us together. 🙄
I kept an eye on other tables and after 20 min the table next to one of ours was available. The table next to the first one was available as well. I asked Kurt if we could switch tables. Imagine if they had just tried to be accommodating and kind in the first place? They ended up offering us their private room to make up for the terrible start. I am sharing this long review so they make fixes and someone else doesn’t have the experience we did on a special evening.
Great place for drinks with friends. Staff was wonderful and we are making this a regular stop when we are in Chicago
While I love the concept, I just don't feel the food and drink is quite up to the prices. I've been twice now and each time I was very impressed with the presentation, but very underwhelmed with quantities. It feels a little like the Rainforest Cafe for adults. Would recomend it for a drink and a quick bite if you're in the area, but don't go out of your way.
Server was very slow and in knowledgeable.
Won’t be back!
I love tiki drinks and rum. Each drink had dimensions of character. Amber helped one our friends pick out something perfectly suited to her tastes. Can’t wait to come back and try more.
We love Three Dots. We have been customers from the opening. Drinks are consistently good. The Holiday drink menu is great, well worth a try before the holidays are over. We tried the Yellow Snow, and the Gingerbread Painkiller. Both were great. If you love Tiki and great tropical drinks, you will love this place!
So fun!! A great time with friends!
Note that the entrance is in alley. This place is so cool. Has a Trader Vic’s vibe. Appetizer food but very filling! A fun date or outing with friends. Be sure to make a reservation.
This is a bucket list Bar. Pricey but you've got to do it once. You feel like you've stepped into Hawaii for an hour. Or onto the set of Gilligan's Island. Drinks are delicious. Food so-so. Of course it's overpriced because of its novelty. Think $80 for two drinks and three appetizers and you will still need to go to dinner after. But worth it ONCE!
Great atmosphere to grab tropical drinks. They have single drinks and drinks that can be shared by a group. They also have appetizers.
