Thom Thom Steak & Seafood Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
I went here for a date Friday night and the food and service were phenomenal. I would recommend making a reservation, but even without one there was room at the bar if we had wanted to eat there. We got a sushi roll for an appetizer and surf and turf for dinner and everything was really good and cooked perfectly. I would definitely go back again.
Outstanding menu with great selections of steaks, seafood, duck and sushi. Every dish I have tasted is seasoned and cooked to perfection. Wait staff are friendly and knowledgeable on how to order your steaks, and how duck can be cooked to your preference. Vegetable sides are cooked well leaving crunch to the green beans . Great selection of craft beer and wine. The deserts were amazing. Best creme brûlée I have had in a while. The ice cream in a chocolate bag was large enough to share with several people. The sorbet light but creamy. I can’t wait to come again. My only complaint is they are only open for dinner. I would go there for lunch if they decide expand their hours.
We go to Thom Thom often and never have we experienced the poor service that we did last night. We brought friends visiting from Charleston, SC to Thom Thom last night because they like sushi and It's usually good. Service is never anything to write home about. We had a 6:30 reservation, we were seated by 6:35, our wine and other drinks were not delivered to the table until after 7:00. We didn't order appetizers, our meals were delivered at 8:03. I'm not sure what was going on last night, but that is just unacceptable. The owner never came over, but he did send 3 desserts after dinner. I'd rather have good service than free desserts.
I have been to Thom Thom Resturant at least 5 times in last 6 months. Really like the place & the food. Great quality of food & not a huge bill like so many other similar restaurants. All the friends I’ve brought there love it too. My last experience wasn’t as great. Our server was very slow & forgetful. We were often waiting for our drinks, even having to re-order them one time because he forgot. Will definitely go back again because we love the sushi & steak
This was my second visit and i was not disappointed. The menu remains creative with choices for everyone. The sushi was fresh and well presented. The paella delicious as was the sea bass. Service was attentive and the meal was well paced - we were never rushed. I’ll be back.
Overall this was a nice dinner. Except for a late dinner for one of us, service was timely and not rushed. Food was very good and a good value. I had the rib eye and it was cooked perfectly and full flavored. It was pretty crowded so I would recommend reservations on weekends.
One of best restaurants in wantagh been there numerous times and always get the marinaded strip it s delicious and much better than those overpriced steaks in the fancy steakhouses, meatball app is delicious also great service and nice comfortable atmosphere highly recommend!
Food prices were over priced for the quality. The service was very good. The Bang Bang shrimp appetizer was very good. The Shrimp entree tasted like iodine. The sesame crusted yellow fin tuna was mediocre. The entree's include bok choy which was very tough and a choice of mushroom or sweet potato rice which was very tasty. The specialty martini's were very tasty. The dining room was very noisy. A very loud group of women were in a large booth screaming as they were laughing. Plus in the bar area they had a musician singing and playing a guitar which was very loud. They had doors to close off the bar area from the restaurant but it did not cut down on the volume. We were looking for a nice evening with friends so we could talk but it was too loud and noisy. We could not wait to finish our meal and leave. They had a large bar crowd which is nice for the restaurant but not nice for patrons who wanted to eat and talk in peace. If we knew they had entertainment we would never had gone there. Parking can be challenging also. They have a small lot in the rear of the restaurant and parking across the street. The train station parking is there so beware of the signs and where you can and can not park without a permit. They ticket and tow in the area. This venue is fine if you are older and looking to meet people in a bar with loud music.
