Thirty Seven North stands alone when it comes to eclectic fare and fine cocktails, wine and beer. What sets Thirty Seven North apart from the rest of the noise in Virginia Beach is not only the first rate cuisine crafted from first rate ingredients, but also the concentrated service you get from the first moment you walk through the door. Every guest is treated like a treasured friend.
Start with the oysters Rockefeller, local oysters packed with bacon-spinach stuffing and topped with parmesan. The crab dip with wood-fired focaccia is second to none. Guests can pair innovative pizzas with wine from the extensive wine list. If you want a little something more out of your sandwich, pizzas or salads, then Thirty Seven North is the right place for you. Bring family and friends alike.
We were disappointed in the new menu's lack of entree choices.
Visted for our New Year's Eve dinner with a group of 6. Service was great. Oliver was very attentive. We were seated immediately. Cocktails are a bit pricey, but are a good size and delicious.
Very disappointing. This was an excellent farm-to-table restaurant, but not anymore. It is almost at the 'fast-food' level.
Food preparation has become uneven. Sometimes great and sometimes not so great. This visit was one of the latter.
Tables used to hard to come by but not any more. Perhaps others have had the same experience.
My husband and I went to Thirty 7 North on a Sunday night to celebrate a birthday. The restaurant was very quiet, without many guests, but our experience was wonderful. The service was impeccable -- attentive, but not hovering. Our dinners were excellent -- fresh ingredients, well prepared and served at the appropriate temperature. Although it was a quiet evening at the restaurant, we felt as welcomed and as special as would be expected on a more popular Friday or Saturday night. We'll definitely return!
Don't let the humble exterior fool you. This is fine dining, elegant and so memorable. I loved my cocktail, "The Heater" with jalapeno-infused vodka and fresh cilantro, but the best thing I ate on our entire trip to VA Beach was their fish stew with coconut-curry broth. The clams may have been the freshest I've ever eaten, and the herbs in the broth gave it the most beautiful spice. I found myself feeling emotional about this meal! Not to be missed.
Make sure you try the pork chops they where the absolute best. Service was great. Had a lovely casual dinner with friends
Ashley was fantastic - great job!
She made the evening.
Please be sure you pass this along to her.
Dinner took 2.5 hours without drinks or food on the table for much too long in between courses. Ended up being comped a round a drinks because of this but would still not recommend. Another service fail was a non meat eating person noted this to the waitress but one of the specials came out with bacon in the dish. Another comp but by this time it was laughable how long and disorganized they were. This was our second visit and the first time was great so it could have been due to being a Saturday night or an inexperienced server. Still not going back.
Food was good, waitstaff were attentive and the hostess was wonderful
