After the auto show, I wanted to treat my family with dinner at the nearby Marriott . Unfortunately the food took a very long time to arrive. I counted about 20-25 min. Luckily the food was good, the waiter was very friendly, but It I may head elsewhere the next time.
I made OpenTable reservations for business meetings at this place two days in a row when I was in town for a gigantic conference and knew seating anywhere would be in short supply. Both days, the restaurant had inexplicably just closed when I arrived, and denied having a reservation for me. I showed them the OpenTable confirmation and still got turned away. I asked if I could just sit there, without food service, as it’s in the lobby of a hotel and we just needed a place to sit and talk. Still got turned away, both days. DO NOT GO HERE, or more specifically do NOT make a reservation here, as it will not be honored.
They were closed when we arrived with no indication of when they would be open.
The menu that is advertised on Open Table is NOT what was offered at the restaurant. My date & I left because we had our taste buds set in Sea Bass & the only fish offering was salmon... I suggest the menu be updated immediately with Open Table so people aren't misled in the future.
The food was pretty good. Respectable cheesesteak for a hotel restaurant. The service, value, and ambiance was not as good.
The food quality was like that of a college dining hall. Definitely not worth the $20 per person for breakfast buffet. The selection wasn't great, the bagels were small and stale, the coffee was too dark. I would not go back.
Always excellent for both lunch and dinner. Ample portions and prices in relation to other top restaurants in the city. Service is always excellent, nice cocktail menu. Great for families. My only complaint is quality of wine list does not match menu. Also many of the bottles were almost 4x the retail price
Ate here two nights in a row. Unexpectedly delightful food, service and pricing.
Quality of food was outstanding. Even moreso when considering that this is a hotel restaurant. Prices (for beverages as well) extremely reasonable. Service was spot on and exceptionally helpful. Dining room decor understated, bordering on bland. Needs more color. LARGE silk flowers arrangements? Overall delightful surprise.
We always dine here when visiting Philadelphia. It's convenient, the staff are stellar and the food is delicious.
Went for quick lunch. There were maybe 4 tables in the place so it was clearly not busy. After waiting 45 minutes after actually ordering our food. There was no sign it was coming. I could understand if they were busy or if the waitress checked on us and let us know the food was on it's way but nothing. We few bucks for inconvenience but ended up leaving.
Convenient buffet breakfast in the hotel. Very nice attentive, accommodating staff.
We came in and instantly found a good amount of issues with the restaurant. First of all, the online menu was NOT AT ALL the same as the 1 page of menu that was presented to us. We came and selected the restaurant due to food allergy and the limited options in the menu was definitely an issue. We asked the servers and they were very confused as to what I was asking regarding the menu. At that point, it's not like the menu is going to magically change, so we moved past that and just tried to enjoy the night. We ordered, got the wrong drink, and waited an entire hour to get our mediocre food. I ordered an off the menu item that I was told I can order, Pan-Seared Salmon, and requested to have it cooked not too dry. Not only did the salmon, together with the rest of our food, came out an hour after, but it was burnt. The rest of the food was ok, if not, nothing to brag about. We left with a very disappointed and hungry belly. Would not come back here again.
Menu is different from what is on website and not much to choose from.
The food was good, but the service was brusque. It was not only this server because there have been other servers who treat customers in this way. The Marriott really needs to train their staff in customer service. If you're here for a quick convenient meal, it's fine, but the service certainly won't have you coming back.
i ate here twice in two days--a breakfast business meeting and lunch with a friend. Both were miserable in terms of service and how long it took to get food (30-40 minutes, with the restaurant only half full). Despite reservations, they didn't seat us for 15 mins, even though it was clear that there were empty tables. The waiters/waitresses disappeared after serving food, when it came, seeming to avoid dealing with customers. If you can go anywhere else for food, I would recommend it.
Our server, Nick, was excellent.
It was impossible to enter this restaurant. Outside doors were closed and when we finally walked around and into the hotel there was no signage.
Upon entering it was unclear where the front or hostess stand was and we wandered awkwardly until someone finally helped us.
The food and dining service were average and slow. Nothing fantastic but nothing to complain over.
Great apps. Service was variable. For lunch it was just ok. But Jeff waited on us for happy hour the day before and he was fabulous. A highlight of our visit. Get the crab cake sliders, I could live on those crab cakes alone.
If you have other breakfast options, use them.
It was a good breakfast with a lot of food. A little pricy, but for a hotel, you got more food then other hotels for the same price. I would go back.
The servers were pleasant. The food was tasty and the portion was large. Even though it was lunchtime, we were able to conduct a business meeting.
Food was ok, I was there once for dinner years ago and it was better. Breakfast omelet was full of butter and not great. Service was good.
It was very slow there. Hardly anyone present and our service was still very lagging.
The service was slow, despite there only being 6 occupied tables, and the food was the worst that I have ever had in a hotel. The soup was good, although Luke warm. The salmon and beans were terrible and looked very dull as though it had been sitting out for a while. My soup was delivered and not 30 seconds later I saw a server walking around with my entree as though he wasn't sure where it was supposed to go. He then carried it back in the kitchen and then brought it back out when I was done with my soup. I ordered the apple cobbler for desert and it appeared that it had been microwaved and was warm on one side and very cold on the other. As this is a really large hotel, I assumed it would have a good restaurant. My server was very disorganized and really slow. He carried around a book that appeared to have a weeks worth of crumpled dinner orders in it. Just an all around bad experience
I was entertaining some business associates. We had the buffet'. The selection was limited and the hot trays where empty. Had to mention to the severs about it quite a few times.
Very Disappointed
This was a great last minute spot for a crowded holiday such as balentines
While on business in Philly over the Valentine's day weekend, it was tough to find a restaurant taking reservations. The Thirteen did. We thought we'd find a typical hotel restaurant but were really happy with food (taste, quality and presentation) and service ( attentive but not bothering).
We had great food really enjoyed our dinner. My husband said best fillet he ever had.On down side it wasn't busy and we waited 20 minutes for our meals and our appetizers and entrées came at the same time.Waiter was slow to bring our drink's and check to see if we needed anything.Same thing happened at breakfast server brought me my tea, orange juice and check and never came back to see if I needed anything else had to ask another server for more juice. That's the one area I find that your restaurant need's improvement. Other than slow and not attentive service we enjoyed our meal and were glad not to have to go outside of the hotel for dinner as it was snowing and extremely cold out.
For a Marriott restaurant, we were not impressed. Service was poor, food was over priced and average at best. We will not be back...
Made a Christmas dinner reservation on Open Table. The restaurant was not open. I was never notified. Ruined a Christmas tradition.
Not much to say about this restaurant, because after 10 mins I walked out without ordering. I didn't like the menu or the Thanksgiving buffet options. Once I was seated, nobody came around to serve me, not even to ask for a glass of water. I went across the street to Bank and Bourbon and was served respectfully.
Service was slow- had to keep flagging down the waitress. The food was ok- I had the Autumn salad. I asked for no onions, and there were onions in the salad. It was more like an appetizer versus an entree, so I was still hungry afterwards. Wouldn't go back again.
The menu on open table shows sandwiches at dinner but we were told they only server burgers at dinner. Our waiter seemed more interested in talking to the hostess than serving people. I would recommend breakfast....it was very good!
The food was only OK - even the presentation was terrible. The service was slow. We had an 8:15 reservation and weren't seated until close to 9:20 - when we finally asked the server if we had a table it seemed like she had just completely forgotten about us as the dining room was fairly empty. There were only 3 of us eating and there were plenty of 3-4 person tables totally empty and set. The food was underwhelming and comparable to a Ruby Tuesday's and over salted.
Thirteen was really helpful as a meeting location, because they offered reservations during the week of a very busy conference at the adjoining Phila convention center. Because people needed to be close to the sessions, used Thirteen for both breakfast and lunch meetings. Good basic menu, and the service was attentive - they asked if we were on a tight schedule, and were prompt but not rushed. Restaurant was crowded, but you didn't feel like you had to talk up to have a conversation. Would use again for a similar purpose.
Took 10 minutes for server to come over. She was attentive once she got there. Food was kinda bland/tasteless. Overpriced.
Once a month my girlfriends and I go out for dinner. I always try to find someplace tht has great reviews and great food. This place had both. I would def recommend this to couples or group gatherings.
Par excellence presentation of food-Attentive service-Terrific Value-Awesome Ambiance
Even though Thirteen is an Open Table restaurant they would not take my dining check.
The manager said their computer system could not process it.
BE WARNED ....... no dining checks at Thirteen
