Thirsty Lion Pub & Grill – Washington Square Ratings and Reviews
Crazy (good) on a Friday evening.
Made a reservation (suggested), got seated right away.
Excellent service, picked several dishes from starters/appetizers and left stuffed.
Scotch eggs, green beans, brussels sprouts, bahn mi.
Caught glimpses of USC beating Stanford but nobody seemed to care (it's Duck country).
all in all good but was super busy at 1pm and the noise level wasn't too great for a first meeting/date. I didn't pay the bill so I don't know what the food cost, I 'm sure it was reasonable. Mostly I noticed the exhaust fans in the kitchen can't handle all the fried/greasy smoke and the customers must all leave smelling of fried food. Hair/clothes and all.
it was thick in the air. Yuck. :) sorry
Food was very good. Had my first Moscow mule and it was really good. Waitress was really good and accommodated us very well. We come here to eat every year when we do our Christmas shopping. We are from Florence Or and it’s always a treat to come There for our evening meal after shopping. I always get gift certificates for Christmas for my kids from there. They love it there.
I was in town for a job interview, and my daughter met me in Beaverton for a couple of days. We chose the Thirsty Lion after looking on Yelp, and checking out the menu. We were certainly not disappointed! Excellent all around, food, service and atmosphere!
Hoping I get the job, so I can eat here more often!
This was our first and last time going here. Had to wait over 10 minutes after being seated to get even be acknowledge by our waitress. Took another 15 minutes to even get our drinks. We asked that they turn the heating lamps on since it was cold outside and getting dark. They turned it off 20 minutes later without explanation. Food arrived after 40 minutes which may be normal for them but not typical by restaurant standards given that they weren't that busy. No apology for delay, just food delivered by two different waitress (but not on our own). Salad was soggy and I tasted something grainy/gritty but couldn't tell what it was since it was so dark outside. Hamburger was barely warm but chard on the outside. Our waitress never came back to ask us how our meal was or even to offer a refill on our drinks until the end when we asked for the check. Overall, this place was disappointing and overrated.
Food was good. Thai salad was a little over dressed but not drowning the salad. Chicken sandwich was very good, just not sure why this time of year serving anemic tomatoes. Server was not as attentive as most we have had the many times we have been here but was adequate
