We spent Father's Day at the Thirsty Lion and were not disappointed. It was a fun way to celebrate, watch the Sun's game (which was a big hit with Dad!), and enjoy a nice lunch. The food was good. I wouldn't rate it as great, but overall it was good. The drinks were generous and our waitress was fantastic. The mood in the place was upbeat as well. My only concern is that if you are sitting on the side with the pizza oven, it was pretty darn warm inside - particularly on a hot Arizona day. I was glad we were at the far end of the restaurant where it was really pleasant inside. Overall, our experience was good and we enjoyed the special day!
Seemed understaffed. Server wasn’t overly attentive, albeit, it was Father’s Day - but not super busy yet
Father’s Day brunch was delicious! Best French toast ever! Great experience. We will be back.
Great food and service
Great food and service
Great food and service
Very slow service, salad had a glob of Caesar bidding under the lettuce instead of mixed. Burger was dry and covered in sauce which I asked for meat and cheese only.
Steven, our server was excellent.....quick, witty, and very professional. The food is outstanding.....It can be a bit noisy at times.....but hey it is a sports bar with excellent food
2nd time back in a few weeks! Great place!
It was great!
Too much noise but very good experience. Thanks much.
Thirsty Lion is a great choice for lunch. They offer a variety of salads and sandwiches and the staff understands the need to return to work after eating.
We had two of their salads, the cobb and the ahi tuna. Both were served in bowls that were manageable and not ridiculously over filled with lettuce. The variety of substance was incredible as was the freshness The spicy teriyaki on top of the ahi added a good bit of needed heat.
Overall, a great lunch.
great happy hour selection
Thank you for this 5 star review!
Melaoue server truly went above and beyond- amazing experience!!
Thank you for this wonderful review. We look forward to having you back soon.
It will be too dark. You will be denied a light/lamp. If you demand a light/light 4 times, they will comply. THEN, you will have enough light to see your food and your guest. Have the waiter repeat your order multiple times. When the food comes, the food is delicious and the portion sizes are fantastic. You may get the wrong order. The wrong order won’t be delicious.
Tonib, We are sorry to hear you had a less than perfect experience. We appreciate you taking the time to provide us with this feedback. We will use it to improve and we hope you will allow us another opportunity.
We had a reservation for the Restaurant Week menu. The food was delicious. I had the Moroccan meatballs, Korean ribs and kimchi rice, and finished with the apple crumble. Unfortunately the restaurant did not have any more BBQ prawns which was a disappointment for my meal partner who is lactose intolerant and had limited meal options. However, the service more than made up for it. The manager Shawn personally came to our table to make amends, and also offered to comp my friend's next order of BBQ prawns. I noticed that tables were being cleared more slowly than usual and that servers were taking a while to make it to us on the patio; turns out they were slammed with Restaurant Week diners and were understaffed for the influx. I totally understand this and appreciate that everyone was doing their best. Lastly, I would suggest not sitting underneath the misters on the patio because they do drip a bit after they turn off.
We had a very nice experience. Paulina was very attentive and did a great job. The food was very good. We will be back!
Excellent food and service. Easy parking. Great atmosphere.
Service was very good, drinks were yummy, ambiance was nice.
Happy hour had good options , drinks were great and Main course was excellent . Wait staff very responsive
My kids just moved to Tempe in January, they visit this restaurant often and we look forward to eating here every time we come to visit...my favorite dish is the pork and cornbread Benedict for brunch. Everything has been consistently delicious.
Thirsty Lion has become our “go to” spot for casual gatherings with family and friends. The atmosphere is comfortable, the staff understands how to make your experience fun and satisfying while not being intrusive, and the food is always prepared perfectly.
Very fun environment, well spaced and accommodated a larger group for dinner. Enjoyed it very much and will do it again!
Seems like a nice place and very big. We thought the food was over priced and not that great. Beef in the French dip was tasteless. The salad was the worst I've ever had and tasted bitter. Server was very good but because of price and quality of food we won't go back.
Food and service was good except my husband and I split a sandwich so we should’ve only been charged for one sandwich and the waitress had two sandwiches on our bill. My husband told her and she took care of it right away
Took to long in between visits from our server.
First time there for most of the group. Enjoyed everything.
Food above average
No one addressed us when we entered had to ask her to check our reservation and seat us
Standard American faire with good service and enough interesting items on the menu to allow for a diverse set of pallets. I’m Adan of the pork ramen bowl.
I have been to Thirsty Lion several times. Always consistently good food and service.
Was good but the service was slow like the waitress forgot about us or had to many tables to attend to
As always, great service and ambiance!
The people at our table ordered 4 different meals, no one liked their choice. Pretty much everything had zero taste, very disappointed. I had a salad with a side of blue cheese, the dressing was watery thing like it was a vinaigrette with zero blue cheese flavor!!
This is one of our favorite restaurants. The food never disappoints, service is polished and professional, and for lunch (when we always go) it's the perfect atmosphere.
The staff was excellent. The food was good and portions were generous. Plenty of room and seating options.
no comment. I do not wish to make any further comments. All was good.
Second time here. Had same dishes as first visit but food was much spicier. Didn’t like nearly as much. Service good.
Usually visit the Santan location..ordered the usual...my fried cauliflower was mushy and my "lightly" breaded chicken tenders were heavily breaded and burnt. I won't be back.
Great food, great atmosphere. Service was not great. Took a long time for drinks. Asked for water three times second round of drinks one was forgotten and then took a long time to get. Again, great food but our service tonight was not great.
Our meals were great. The only disappointment was that they didn't have Easter specials and that the brunch ended at 2 instead of 3 as advertised (our reservation was at 2).
