Thirsty Lion is one of my go-to places because the food, beverages and atmosphere are consistently good. There are lots of choices on the menu, so it’s a great place to meet or bring someone if you don’t know their tastes.
I fully enjoyed my experience here, the food was great and the service was fast as well as outstanding.I recommend this place to be awesome.
Great service. Food was wonderful. Need better ice tea.
The hostess was very rude and had an attitude but our server was great. The music was super loud so it was hard to have conversations with a group of four.
We celebrated a birthday. The service was great and the beer and food were great too
Was there for our fantasy football draft. Got a large table off to the side which was perfect for us and hopefully kept us from annoying too many other diners. Allison took care of us and was 200% spot on. Service was great, food was great and the draft was a success!
Shelby was great! We felt safe abd the food was stellar.
Great service and great food. Big portions. Never felt rushed
Birthday dinner - nice atmosphere and enjoyed some desert as a special treat that was fantastic!
We’ve eaten here a few times and liked it, all prior to Covid. And we’ve been to the location at San Tan, which we actually prefer. But this time it wasn’t as good. The service was slow (I get fewer staff and tables, etc) but still felt way too long. We got seated at 7 and didn’t put our order in until 7:40. We were asked about drinks that literally took 15 mins to arrive and then she was off again. But the food came out hot, so it hadn’t been sitting around under a heater. Although I thought the burger I got was over done on the outside and not all the way done on the inside so that was a bummer. Everyone else tho enjoyed their meals. Well prob return if we’re in the area and in a pinch but it wasnt a stand out meal.
Everything was great food related but they sat us next to the window and being that it was 115 degrees that day, it was very warm. Was literally sweating through the whole meal and there were flies all around the windows in the inside. No curtains or anything to block the windows. Not the greatest time in that sense so next time I would ask not be sat at the next window.
The French Dip was scrumptious. The burgers huge and delicious and a steak salad was tasting. All are recommended.
Celebrated my birthday
Fabulous spot! The main floor seating is well spaced, and the booths offer great privacy for conversation. Excellent service!
Very good sevice, excellent cocktails and enjoyed a nice segment of 80's music which was nice for those of us at a certain age. Had a bacon, jalapeno and cheese burger and it was great. To be honest, I go here for the burgers.
The power went out four times while we were there. We took the servers suggestions on food and they were not great. Overly sweet not a described by the server.
Fish and Chips were outstanding . Nice Patio , great staff .
Very good fried chicken sandwich with a side salad, just the right amount of food for lunch, its aon a square ciabatta bun. So it's not too much bun like some of those other pubs. Service was very attentive too.
Great food and drinks and they maintain social distancing which is great! Love this place!
Fantastic food and very nice place. The food is amazing! Try the scotch eggs and beer soup. Service was good, but you could tell they were out of beat due to COVID and the social distancing rules.
Service was excellent and it was great to see COVID precautions in place. The ribeye steak was incredible! However, I got the Tuscan chicken which was pretty dry. Overall, we'll definitely be back.
Great time, staff could have been a little friendlier but with masks who can really tell?
First trip out since COVID started, very quiet.
Had a great meal and the food was awesome. The service was a little slow.
One of the best burgers you can get and always a awesome selection of drinks.
Thank you for having safety measures in place for both the guests and staff. I never once saw any staff member pull down their masks. In a scary time for everyone your waiter was full of life and made our dining experience fun. Your establishment was a true example of what following the safety guidelines should be and I will tell everyone I know what a great job you're doing. Much gratitude.
We had a great lunch and the service was great !
Slow service was the main issue.
The waitress appeared to be overloaded
They did a great job distancing everyone. I would of liked a paper menu, but I get it.
Stephen our server was absolutely on point. During these crazy times, he had a great attitude and was focused.
It's a great place to go! My family and I wer going to go there before the Cubs game on St Patrick's Day. Spring training was canceled and unfortunately I'll st. Patrick's festivities were canceled too due to the Coronavirus! Hopefully this thing will clear up and we will be back to visit the Thirsty Lion! I hope and wish everyone well
BEST: they take reservations. They seated us even though our entire party wasn't there yet.
Requested standard seating on the reservation, evidently that didn't get recorded but they were able to accommodate the request. we got a half booth half chairs table which actually worked perfectly
FOOD: diverse menu, something for everyone from small and simple to expensive and gourmet. They also had a seasonal and holiday menu.
BEVERAGE: ample options for all, with or without alcohol. That's rare.
AMBIANCE: Great for the younger crowd, however, a challenge if you have hearing issues. Not saying its loud. Th overhead music was OK, just a little challenging to hear each other on a 4 top....
OVERALL: I would definitely go back, good value, great menu choices, fair prices, and you can make a reservation.
I had asked about the salmon but decided to go with the seared ahi. I was served the salmon. We had a time limit, it was a business lunch, so i sucked it up and ate the farmed salmon. The vegetables we so bad I couldn’t eat them. They should be ashamed to have served them. I also ordered a bacon Mac and cheese to go on a separate tab but the waitress wasn’t listening and split my business lunch with me and my guest. Not sure what the listening issue was for the waitress but it was not a great experience and the food was incredibly mediocre. I won’t have lunch there again any time soon.
Three of us went for weekend (Sunday) brunch. One of our group is celiac, in that they can not have gluten. Unfortunately, there are no items on the weekend brunch menu that he could have. That was kind oof a bummer. Other than that, the service, food, and experience were quite good, and I have been there a few times before; I will be back again. Hopefully the updated brunch menu will have at least 1-2 items for gluten sensitive folks.
The service was pretty on point for the most part. There was a small issue with one of the meals and it was quickly addressed.
We met a friend I had not seen in years and the waiter gave us all the time we needed to catch up before we ordered.
We had very moody hostesses that didn’t like that we circumvented they 1:30 minute wait by going outside and setting a reservation for 15 minutes after we got there. Luckily, our server, Alex, was AMAZING! She was very attentive without overly interjecting in to our date. The food was amazing - noisy atmosphere, but it’s what’s to be expected from TL. Overall, great time and OpenTable saved our lives with the reservation!
Not the best way for a quiet date but a very good place for a fun one
Very pleasant experience and the food was excellent! I would definitely visit again
Fun place to watch sports and to eat casual, sports bar food. Great place for large groups.
