Got the filet mignon and the quality wasn’t great. Disappointed in the food. Service was okay and atmosphere was good. Hostess and server were friendly
Good visit. Overall it was nice. Dining room was quite chilly initially and very loud. Our waitress was excellent and the food was very good. Moderately priced. We would come back to try it out again.
Got to the restaurant 30 min earlier than we expected. Hostess said she couldn’t seat us even though the restaurant was only 50% full. Asked for standard seating yet the hostess tried to seat us at a high top which was also 25 min after we had arrived. She seemed confused most of the time whether dealing with us or other parties that walked in. Didn’t come across efficient. Otherwise the food and service were good.
Busy Friday night, honored reservation time and food was good
Great menu, big portions, jigsaw pizza oven, but no pizzas on menu, I forgot to ask if you still make them.
Everything was great after you made it past the rude hostesses. One snapped at my wife then another one snapped at me. Bobby our waiter was more than pleasant though and saved the experience. We'll be back because of him but rude impatient hosts again will be send us away for good.
We sat n the patio which is always preferable in good weather as it is Always Super loud and impossible to hear anyone to talk. I realize it’s a sports bar and lots of sporting events on multiple TV’s but when I go out for a meal I expect to be able to have a conversation with whomever I’m with!! The food and service is Always excellent. The noise level inside makes my ears bleed. The patio was an awesome choice. But not in summer!!
Server did not hear me order the soup first, so when my actual meal came out. I said hold off on the soup. Instead manager gave me a free dessert to make up for the problem. Great customer manager service. Invites me to come back.
I HATE how loud it is in there!!!!
My friend lives in the East Valley & I, in Central Phx. We often meet at Tempe Marketplace, she almost always picks "Thirsty lion". It is, LITERALLY the ONLY REASON I GO THERE!
Scotty was an AMAZING server and the food was Okay.
Corned beef hash was NOT traditional hash, more like sliced potato and strips of meat. //eggs Benedict hollandaise sauce was off the mark, just lemon and cream
Great server, friendly knowledgeable. Made great suggestions and let us know that the restaurant was a scratch restaurant which no one in are party knew.
The food was great. We had the IPA battered fish and chips. The waiter was very nice too.
Alexis G was great ! Food excellent— such a great store. We will be back!
Yes I would.. just wouldn’t recommend the Pad Thai
Service was awful. We waited for 15 minutes before anyone showed up at our table. We ordered quickly food was brought to table after a long wait and then I had to leave the table to find waitress to get the check at the end. Worst service I've ever had!
Very personable waiter with great service
Food was great. Noise very loud!
First visit to this restaurant. Very lively and energetic vibe! Our server was very attentive and helpful when sorting through the extensive menu.
I had the Baja shrimp tacos which were outstanding. My wife had the orange chicken (also very good) and my daughter had a burger.
Very extensive tap beer 🍺 list.
Overall, great experience and would be a great place to catch a ball game.
Service was slow but everything was excellent
Great drinks and great beer
This is our favorite brunch spot. Already planning our next visit!
Our poor waitress had way too many tables so we rarely saw her. Everything we ordered was delivered by someone else and our food took a lot longer that the tables around us and we were only a party of 5.
I have eaten at Thirsty Lion many times and I have enjoyed it every time. I just wish you hadn't taken the stacked enchiladas off the menu. We do love the scotch eggs and cauliflower appetizers.
I had the best Reuben sandwich EVER! I have been several times and love their salads, too.
Food is way too salty. My party and I walked out of there feeling really bloated from all of the sodium. Salt is probably their number one seasoning.
Great place to catch a game with some unique food options.
My husband and I went for an early dinner before a concert. It was delicious! I’ve only been to the Gilbert location. And this one is just as nice.
Our server Alexis was terrific as was her manager Allison!
Both were very accommodating in getting our seats moved to the patio to reduce the noise!!
They both couldn’t possibly have been any nicer & helpful!!
Thirsty Lion is a great place for lunch. The full menu has seasonal selections that change regularly as well as the proven favorites. They have something for every appetite: great burgers, fantastic salads, creative appetizers as well as a great selection of beers on tap.
Over the past 3 years I have had business lunches at the Tempe Thirsty Lion and have always ordered the fish & chips which have always been of consistently good quality. However, this time the fish & chips tasted differently, the white filet part of the fish was tough and hard to eat, and it had a much different flavor from all my prior visits. When a person who was not familiar with the area suggested we go to lunch and asked me to suggest a place, so I picked the Thirsty Lion. Not sure if your buyers changed fish vendors and went to the low bidder or what but I was disappointed and only ate part of the serving. Not sure if I will go there again.
Great experience!! Great happy hour and friendly service.
Excellent food and great service. They were doing a fundraiser for the Humane Society, which was awesome. Keep up the good work.
I have eaten here a few times and while it's always been good, this time it was excellent. I got a the waygu burger and everything about it was great. Even the side salad was very tasty and fresh.
I think it is loud here, but I'm okay with that.
Our service wasn't great, but we weren't in a rush. She even comp'd my iced tea since she never came back to give me a refill, so an extra star there.
Even though we used OpenTable and made the reservation a day ahead. We still had to wait. It was like they didn’t pay attention to the reservations and were seating people and groups before us. The noise level was really loud. Especially the music. But the food was amazing. We did find it weird that they didn’t put sauerkraut on my husband’s Reuben sandwich 😬
Good food and service, no complaints
Be prepared for a very loud space! Otherwise, the service is tops, the draft beer selection outstanding and food delicious.
Everything was great, the atmosphere was really nice. I guess I just ordered the wrong thing on the menu. Had the barbecue shrimp platter which was great, but portion size was for kids. I will be back to try something else though.
We waited awhile to be be greeted, but after that service was friendly and attentive. Food and drinks were excellent.
The food was great. The portions were large and there were lots of choices. Our waitress, Taylor was cute and vert efficient.
Our server was more concerned about turning tables around rather than dealing with the tables he already had. Had to ask another server for more dressing, after asking ours prior. Also asked for half the meal to be packed as to-go and he said sure. Never happened. Never refilled drinks...
Food was good but not very warm. We went on father’s day and had a reservation. We arrived 15 minutes early and they wouldn’t seat us until our reservation time, even though the restaurant was maybe 30% full. Our server was a little slow, didn’t check on us much. The food took over an hour and they still weren’t very busy. We had 2 young children with us who were losing their patience and I had to go ask for the check and then go hunt the waitress down to pay it. I would give them another chance but we weren’t very happy with the experience.
