The burgers, salads, and grilled veggie sandwich were incredible! Great location near Union Station
We made a reservation and when we showed up on time for our reservation, they told us it would be another 25-45 minutes past our reservation time, completely unacceptable. Don't take reservations if you are not going to stick to the time committed in the reservation.
Music was way too loud - impossible to conduct a conversation without yelling. I won't be back.
Good food in a great location at a very reasonable price. It was a great spot to meet up with a friend over lunch.
Our service was quick - we were in and out in a timely manner.
Considering it was a Sunday and a Holiday our visit was perfect. They were running short and without a bartender. But all in all a positive experience. The thirsty lion is my husband and I's favorite place to eat when in Denver. The food was consistent, and the atmosphere was great. Will definetely keep coming back.
Have a great meal
We have eaten at the Thirsty Lion pretty much every weekend since we moved to Denver 2 years ago. It is our go to date night spot. But that certainly has changed after our last visit. Our waitress Blaire was ABSOLUTELY awful. She ignore us, mad snide comments and faced at what we ordered. And didn’t even ask us if we were done, wanted more drinks, or desserts, just brought us our check like she couldn’t wait for us to leave.
My first time going to the Thirsty Lion. The noise level was too loud to really hold a conversation. The other 3 members of my party were very happy with their meals. However, I ordered the Fish and Chips, a meal I thought this restaurant would excel at. I was wrong. The fries were cold, and the fish was very soggy/greasy. Fortunately, my hotel was not far away.
Sunday Avs game followed by great food. It’s hard to top a win against the Red Wings but Thirsty Lion managed to do it. Hubs had fish and chips and the scotch eggs, I had the french dip and all were absolutely delicious. If you haven’t been here yet - add it to your to-do list!
Good food and service, nice clean restaurant, and conveniently located. A bit noisy and a little on the pricey side.
I have eaten here several times, and have enjoyed the food most of the time, but have had a few issues in the past. Last week, I had reservations, and still got seated at a long shared table. When I asked for a different table, I was told there weren’t any. So I asked for the manager, and I wish I would have gotten his name, but he was very nice, and found us a better table. By the way, the spinach artichoke dip is wonderful
The ahi salad with Wasabi dressing is AMAZING!!
The menu has a lot of variety. I had the sushi and the slider burgers and it was delicious. The food came out quickly too.The staff was very friendly.
Wait staff and food was great. Hostess was incredibly rude to everyone she came into contact with.
Decent food served in a respectable amount of time considering how busy it was. Crazy loud and we were practically yelling across the table.
I love this place. Its always a busy, happening place. The people working there have always been very nice and outgoing with everyone. Fun place to spend some time.
Fun business lunch! Everyone really enjoyed their meal. From salads to sandwiches no one left hungry. I’d go back again as the decision of what to get was difficult
Eh, nothing special. Service was fairly slow. Did provide silverware rolls in a timely manner. One of us in the group had to hunt down 3 rolls but that will left 2 other ppl without silverware while our food Sat in front of us.
The food wasn't impressive, my was actually terrible the green chili chicken.
The beer cheese soup was good and the seared ahi app. Was a 6 out of 10. The cocktail was an 8 of a 10 Had the raspberry drop. Also had the Lemonaud cocktail that I think I barely drank 1/4 of.
Over all this was our first visit and missed the mark. 1st time yo union square since the revitalization.
Great food, amazing cocktails!!
We like to try a new place on Valentines day every year. This year we chose the Thirsty Lion. This was a great choice. Food was excellent and the service was terrific. The steaks were perfect and the sides were terrific as well. Highly recommend this restaurant!
Enjoyed our meals and service was very good. Interior lay-out is excellent with large windows that give it an open feel.
Made Saturday night reservations for a group dinner. We were seated immediately upon arrival. I ordered the fish and chips - the fish was delicious, the fries were just okay, and the slaw was good. Server was nice enough, but never stopped by to refill drinks. The restaurant is by Union Station and very easy to find - clearly visible from the free 16th Street bus, so a good spot for large groups coming from the Convention Center. Also, no problem splitting the check 6 ways - a huge bonus for conference attendees who need separate receipts!
Another great night at the Thirsty Lion! Staff was incredibly accommodating, and very attentive to our large party. Food was delicious and came out perfectly. Love that there are tons of menu options to make everyone happy. Always a good choice to eat here!
This restaurant is never a disappointment. Food was unusual, good and the service was outstanding. We would ask for Kristian as she goes above and beyond. This restaurant should be very proud to have her.
The food was very good and service prompt. The menu has a nice variety.
We had a wonderful time Service ,food and extra care
Over all ok. I wouldn’t make it a destination. Loud and the food was just ok
Brought some out of town friends and it was a little too loud to talk without raising our voices. Good food and good service.
Amazing food and lively atmosphere!
Great location near Union Station. Good sized outdoor seating for warm weather; ample seating inside. Very good service on a busy Friday evening and nice menu. Will return.
Considering I made reservations prior, mentioned it was for a colleagues birthday and received poor service. We were not impressed. The service was slow and the server was not very good with customer service. Clearly the entire party was frustrated with the amount of time it was taking, the server made no effort to ease the situation. In fact, her responses actually made it worse. I was no pleased with this visit at all.
We have been to the Thirsty Lion by Union Station several times. It is a nice venue with tasty food, our service has always been prompt and energetic. We really enjoy it before or after a game, or for a quick casual meal.
Always very good and consistent! Enjoy eating here.
We had a wonderful time with a family get together before a hockey game. Everyone was happy and full when we left. The only comment I would have was my margarita was more ice than liquid. 2 drinks and it was gone. Won't order that again, more than likely it was the happy hour version, which I find distasteful... serve the same drink or don't put it on the happy hour list.
We go here a lot and really like it, so don't get me wrong on the order.
Pre game meal
While this place is not exactly comfortable, think stools and not booths, it is clean and fun. The food is really good, although my steak was overcooked. Our waitress was wonderful and the crowd was happy.
I think the restaurant should consider playing more older favorite music instead of newer, since much of the crowd coming to the place is 30-40 and up. The best part of the evening was when the entire restaurant starting singing along to Neil Diamond, but there was no opportunity for such fun after that, since the music played from then on was just stuff my kids recognized.
New Years Eve
Fun atmosphere. Great beer options. Looking forward to returning.
Disappointing food. I had the enchilada stack. Bland and overly smoked. My husband had the bacon Mac and cheese and it was gluey with no taste. Based on reviews here were we're excited to try this pub. It was not worth it.
