Thirsty Lion Gastropub & Grill – Denver
Too loud for conversation.
Good food, fun atmosphere, VERY noisy
Very loud. Door was good but not anything special. Very convenient to Union Station.
Sarah did a great job as waitress and happy hours food prices were really good.
Ate brunch outside before shuttle to GOVT MULE show at Red Rocks
Great time, great food
This is a great place to stop in and get a bite to eat before going to the game. It's a bit noisy inside but lots of good food.
Always good. Staff is always great. Can’t wait for our next visit
Food, service location and outdoor option were excellent.
They were able to party of six at an outdoor table on Wynkoop. Much more enjoyable as inside was very noisy. Food was very good. Two ladies in group split scallops and a salad - server brought them individual plates which was very nice. Hamburger for one of group was very large and perfectly done. Fish & Chips noted as a signature dish lived up to this and enough to take half home. Young lady who served us was excellent.
The place was very busy! We had a 6pm reservation and we were not seated until 6:15 even though our entire party was there. We allowed 2 hours for dinner....We waited a long time for food and drinks....which made us late for our concert.
Energetic is not the level I would choose for "Noise Level" - more like deafening. We were very disappointed that we chose this establishment (after being here several times before and being satisfied) and were unable to hear the client we brought. Will not use again for business lunch meetings due to this reason.
For service, two out of the three orders were incorrect but after dropping the food off no waitstaff approached to see if the food was to our liking and we were unable to "waive" one down.
Lunch for my birthday, excellent food & service! Manager stopped by with dessert and a birthday card. Love the Thirsty Lion!
The food was outstanding and prepared exactly how each of us had requested. The waitress was very prompt and helpful. It was a great dining experience.
Server was delightful, made excellent recommendations. The ambiance outside was wonderful people watching with the splash pad and street performers. The location was very easy to get to and central to plans for the rest of the day.
The service was awful, slow to seat, slow to serve, slow to pay, food was mediocre at best
The food was fabulous and our server Sarah was professional, attentive and efficient.
The music is so loud you can't talk, and it is even worse in the restrooms. Fabulous waiter, good food.
Good food, great atmosphere, great location. Can get a little noisy if you’re going there for conversation but a great place to eat and have fun with family.
This is one of my go to places in LoDo. I can always count on having a great meal. I went with co-workers before a Rockies game and we hit it for Happy Hour. Fantastic!
drinks were outstanding. Sauces (calamari) french dip sauce, and mac and cheese were unnecessarily salty. So much that i was thirsty all night.
Came here for my sisters bachelorette party and they were amazing from accommodating us to a lower table to bringing my sister a free dessert and a card congratulating her! Would definitely recommend!
Food was unexpectedly so good! Service was even better. Great sightseeing!
Everything here is delicious, especially the drinks! Never extremely packed, love the decor
I booked a table here so that I could get some food and enjoy a drink whist waiting for a bus to the Red Rocks. I was amazed to see that they had great deals on beer & food even at peak times! The service was excellent, food was great & beer/cider selcetion was extensive. I fully expected it to be really expensive and was really surprised to find that it was super reasonable, I'd definetly reccomend it to a friend!
Terrible food and service. Overated and overpriced.
Really good variety of foods. Servers are hit or miss; this time it was a miss. Our food orders were correct and the prices are reasonable for a downtown restaurant.
We had a great time at lunch! There is a huge variety of options and the service was exceptional.
The menu has a wide variety. Ate here with 7 family members and everyone was able to find something they liked and all the food was delicious. Our waitress was excellent. Fun atmosphere.
Everything was great but the noise level was super high which made it difficult to enjoy visiting with our guests.
Went here to catch bus to Red Rocks and enjoyed it. If you ride the bus you get a free appetizer and we chose the queso and chips which were very good. We split a steak salad which was also very good. They split it for us. Beer selection excellent, one dollar off on happy hour. White Rascal by Avery was fantastic. Great way to get ready for Red Rocks.
Definitely a busy, energetic vibe at the Thirsty Lion, but that’s what you’re hoping for when you head down to LoDo for a weekend brunch. Service was efficient, attentive and cheerful and our meals did not disappoint. Definitely recommend the giant pretzel appetizer, any of the excellent salads. Be sure to take a good dip into Denver’s craft beer selections. We spent hours here and loved every bit of our experience!
Late night menu was awesome! Super affordable! Drinks were good and delivered quickly! Had a bunch of different games on the TVs! We will be back!!
The food and ambiance was very good and its a great location. The service was just ok as the waitress took a long time to wait on us, came back and asked if we wanted more drinks, but did not come back and check on us after we got our food until we were done, and then it took a long time to get our bill. I have been to this restaurant several times though and I will come back again. I also appreciate that they take reservations.
Very good food! It was worth it! I can recommend it!
Excellent food, reasonable service despite how crowded. Very noisy for.conversation. Would definitely go back
Very good food - the Asian orange chicken salad was lovely
The beers were excellent, and the wine was very good
We sat outside overlooking the fountains in the late afternoon
Our best meal on the holidat
Waited more than 30 minutes for food - a salad and a sandwich. When we inquired about the status of our order, our server stated that they had a new computer system and it would be a while - not specific but an indeterminate time - before our food was ready. Seemed as if our order had not made it into their system, and had just been submitted. We paid for our drink and left. Will not return. There are plenty of other restaurants with good service nearby.
They were super accommodating! It was a wonderful place to watch the USWNT win the World Cup! The chicken and waffles were amazing!
