Good range of menu items from vegetarian to red meat to fish. Some ingredients are combined in surprising and tasty ways. Service was attentive and server was helpful in making menu decisions.
Met a friend for dinner on Monday evening. We sat outside on the patio, very nice. Service was excellent and the dinner was superb, as usual. We are never disappointed when we eat at The Yellow Porch. It is quickly becoming our favorite place to dine.
The Yellow Porch has been consistently serving fantastic dishes since they opened. I lived in Nashville years ago and coming back for an event wanted a nice place for dinner. They did not disappoint. The chef prepared some great food and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
All previous experiences are awesome. This time, service was less than average. My sons food came out wrong, they cooked again but took so long we had to box it up. Still charged us even though we couldn’t enjoy at restaurant. No apologies no visit from manager no nothing. Unfortunate.
This was our first time eating at The Yellow Porch, and everything was very delicious. The cheddar fritter appetizer was particularly awesome. We will definitely be back again.
We've been fans of The Yellow Porch for at least 10 years. The food is great -- never boring and always delicious -- and the wait staff is the best. They always have a great wine to pair with your meal, and the specials are just that: Special. The ambiance is excellent for a dinner with friends or a meal with that special someone. I just wish that I could usually save room for dessert as those are truly exceptional.
Was nice to dine during the week. Wasn't as crowded or as noisy when visiting the restaurant during the weekend. Food was excellent and service was cordial and attentive. One of my favorite restaurants in the Nashville area.
Hostess acted as if she didn't care that we were there. Server was ok but too busy to be effective. Food good.
Our favorite neighborhood restaurant that is worth the travel if you don’t live near. Top quality food, and creativity of preparation. Highly recommended!
We met a friend from out of town at The Yellow Porch on May 3rd and met another visitor on May 5th. Both dining experiences were just wonderful. Food is amazing and service is always great. I love the vibe!
Horrible service. We didn't see our waiter for over 15 minutes after we sat down, then bread and our drinks took another 15 minutes. No apology for our wait. Incredibly frustrating experience.
For us Wild Iris fans, this is worth the journey. It was a bit hard to find because I am not familiar with the area, but it's no trouble finding your way through the menu with its wonderful range of offerings. Contemporary and traditional, American and international, greens and meats.
Please keep this restaurant open!
The restaurant is in a cool space, very quaint and friendly staff. Food is good, creative and menu offers great options. Worth going to and I will go back just not one that I was wowed by!
This restaurant has been our go-to for years, birthdays, Valentine's day, anniversaries... On this occasion we celebrated a friend who has passed on, It was her favorite place so it was only fitting we meet here to remember her birthday. Food was wonderful, service always wonderful. We have never felt rushed or had a bad meal.
I've been to the Yellow Porch several times and have always had a wonderful meal. The staff is friendly and personable and the food is outstanding.
We were visiting Nashville for the first time and chose The Yellow Porch for dinner based on reviews, the menu and the name of the restaurant. It sounded charming, homey and inviting. It was all of those things plus DELICIOUS! We started off with the Smoked Salmon Flatbread and Crab Cake (they were sold out of the shrimp and pork dumplings). The four of us shared both appetizers which were fresh, light and tasty. One of the diners thought there should have been more salmon in the flatbread but I appreciated the lighter portion -- particularly since this was an appetizer. For entrees, we ordered the Citrus and Chili Dusted Salmon, Paella, the Red Wine Braised Short Ribs and the Smoked Sweet Tea Brined Pork Chop. 3 out of 4 of the dishes were huge hits. The paella was fine but was more soupy than I expected. I always like the little bit of crust that you get from a paella pan. This paella had a saffron broth that changed the texture and the dish for me. It tasted great but was a little disappointing texturally. Each of the other diners, however, declared that his/her dish was "the best salmon/short ribs/pork chop" ever. At the end of our long weekend -- which was filled with great restaurants and great food -- we all agreed that The Yellow Porch was a favorite.
Wonderful evening. Great service food and atmosphere!!
We were a party of 5 and our server was more than willing to accommodate our every need or special request and even split shared plates for us!
Server "Katie" was AWESOME!!!
Yellow Porch is an old favorite. Always fresh, tasty and comfortable.
Great food. Second time at the Yellow Porch. Both times we had service that was beyond any other place we have ever been....and they were different servers. Will be back!!!!
We always love this spot! Unfortunately there were several incidents of poor service.
The hostess seemed confused about seating us...(unusual) and continued with our server,
who either was new or clueless. We waited for just about everything incredibly to long, my partner
Had nearly finished his salad before he received the dressing he requested ( three times asked our server
And once a different server... who by the way, said he would pass on that info to “our” server, instead of simply
bringing dressing ) and on and on with our absent and neglectful server.
Over the years we have dined The Yellow Porch multiple times and have not encountered any of these issues.
We will return, hopefully to a return of the exceptional service and food we enjoy.
The meal was delicious and a nice evening for a date. Inside and outdoor seating was also available
Our favorite neighborhood restaurant! Awesome food and ambiance! The dumplings with spicy ponzu appetizers are addictive. They will customize your order. I’ve changed the sides and had them add one of their featured fish to a dinner salad. Locally sourced, high quality! Love this place!
I love the Yellow Porch. It's been in existence since BEFORE Nashville became a food destination. Small, intimate, and eclectically decorated it's a great neighborhood spot. Our waitress Thursday night, was knowledgeable and informed regarding the current menu, wine options and cocktails. We were there to celebrate a birthday and they acknowledged the birthday girl in an understated way. That's the Yellow Porch way.............
Terrific experience. Best salmon entree i have ever had. it was a monday night. Quiet atmosphere.
Enjoyed the experience! We were there early (pre-Opry) and were in a little bit of a rush. The service was outstanding. I had the bass special which was delicious! Fresh, perfectly cooked, delightful flavors.
The food was excellent, arrived in a timely manner, and our server was friendly, prompt and informative. All in all a very good night out.
The food was excellent, as was the service, and for a reasonable price. We will definitely be back soon!
We feel like we have found our special place. Small intimate restaurant, great food and great service. I can't wait until it gets warm enough to dine on the patio. We will be back again and again.
This was our third trip to the Yellow Porch and was another great experience. The menu is always evolving. The food is always excellent. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Although it is close to almost everything, it can be a little tricky to figure out how to actually get there... especially for us out of towners. The parking lot is a little tight. Don't let either of those things stop you and enjoy a lovely meal at one of our favorite Nashville restaurants.
Used to come here all the time and it was awesome. This time, although the service was outstanding, the food was just ok. The "cocktail" was served in a water/tea glass with ice and a straw so it was watery and super dated--like I was drinking a Long Island Iced Tea at Red Lobster. The server was kind enough to change it out to a martini glass. The appetizer (cheese fritters) were supposed to be hot, but they were just lukewarm. Oh well, it's cheese, right? The entrees were good, but the pasta bowl was strangely huge...again, sort the all-you-can eat buffet feel rather than a foodie kind of place. The dessert was the most disappointing. The carrot cake was layered with cream cheese...not cream cheese frosting, CREAM CHEESE. Ugh. We all agreed the baker perhaps forgot the sugar, but the server said it was always like that. She offered to get us another dessert, but it was really a moot point because the other dessert (Tres Leches) was more like Dos Leches and I didn't want to let her know that was bad too. The cake was tough with syrupy, canned tasting peaches on it. It bore little resemblance to it's namesake, my favorite dessert, as there was the milk it sat in (1 leches) and the cream on top (2 leches), but it was missing the 3rd leches. Anyway, we didn't order a replacement because we suspected we would get more of the same. Sad because 5 years ago, this was one of the best places in Nashville. Someone must have stolen their chef.
One of my go to places for an excellent dinner. I have never had a bad meal here and the food has always been excellent. Try the Sweetwater Tennessee Sharp Cheddar Fritters; they're excellent. The only problem is picking a favorite from the menu - can't do it. Just have to have something different every time I visit.
Carrie is an amazing hostess! Great helpful attentive personality. Food was down right tops! Red pepper coconut soup sublime. Filet mignon very flavorful. Duck breast so tender and paired wonderfully with gnocchi. Vanilla bean creme brulee was the cherry on the experience.
We were seated next to the bar which felt crowded but the porch area and booths looked cozy. Went on a Tuesday night so don't know about noise level but there are many tables in a smaller space. Definite gem!!!
Our waiter Todd was first rate. The anti-pasta appetizer was superb and so were the steak and the trout with shrimp dinners. Personally I'm not wild about Brussels Sprouts, no matter how they're prepared. Did not care for the Manhattan cocktail at all but loved the Italian Pinot Grigio. In fact, it was superb.
Food and drink was delicious! The Cheddar Fritters are amazing and the Mussels are the best I have every had. It is the only thing I ever order.
If you are looking for a quiet place to chat on date night, this is it--before 7pm. After that, the dining area and bar are full and the noise can be overwhelming. The staff are all knowledgeable and have made great wine recommendations to go with whatever we choose from the menu. The Antipasti plate is an outstanding appetizer! This is our go-to restaurant for a nice early dinner!
We were very disappointed based on our many previous experiences.
Great place. Always enjoy going to the Yellow Porch.
Always great food and the service tonight was lovely. Always a little noisy but in a good, energetic way. Salmon with risotto was perfect, beet salad is excellent. My husband had the NY strip and it was huge and cooked to perfection.
