The Yellow Porch
Dinner: Monday - Saturday: 5:00pm - 10:00pm
The food, service, and ambience was excellent. I would recommend it to everyone. The cost was very reasonable and worth every penny.
Our first time at The Yellow Porch..... excellent from beginning to end. Wait staff extremely knowledgeable and food prepared well and tasted divine! From salads through dessert.... we will return!
Our dinner was excellent - crab cakes, beet salad, lamb meatballs, paella and coconut pie. I also ordered the mediterranean lasagne - which was not great, but all else was fantastic. The lasagne was overbaked (dried out on top) and the sauce flavors not well balanced. It may have just been "off" that night. The service was friendly and not overly attentive, wine selection very fine without being overwhelming. The manager was helpful in beer selection. Can't wait to go back and would definitely choose for a site of out of town guests that may not want the downtown experience.
Love this restaurant. Comfortable and friendly. Food is reliably delicious.
Food was amazing - apps make a full meal. One of those hidden gems you almost hate to recommend for fear that they become too popular and you can't get a table. Really worth the price for this off-the-beaten-path restaurant.
Superb! Great food and service.
Yellow Porch has consistency in service and food. I have never been disappointed.
Sometimes this place is so busy you can't move your elbows and they do cram in the tables. However, we went on a Thursday night, later, and it was calm and not too noisy. The service was excellent and the food lovely.
I made a reservation about 15 minutes before arriving. They were ready for the 3 of us.
I ordered the NY Strip - it was delicious. It would have been better with the wine I ordered but alas it never came. I hate having to ask twice for my drink when the only other thing on the table is water. The waiter should have remembered as most order wine with their meal here no?
My husband ordered the stuffed Trout - also very good, despite having the mayo based sauce that he specifically requested be left off since he has a very strong dislike of mayo. He scraped it off because he also doesn't like complaining or sending back food.
The 3rd person in our party ordered nothing extra to drink and had the grilled salmon as it comes. All good there.
We like you Yellow Porch but we are never really in a hurry to return.
The cheese fritter appetizer at the yellow porch is always one of my favorites! The potato and mushroom filet I had with my filet was outstanding.
Our dinner was eclectic and delicious, easy to share and moderely priced. Our waiter was knowledgeable, attentive, and fun. I'll recommend freely and look forward to returning.
Honestly, the experience was terrible. I only went to try it out because it had fairly good reviews, but starting to think that the majority of them are fake reviews. The atmosphere was nice, except you were literally stacked on top of other people leaving you feeling cramped and overheard. The service was lousy, 25 min before anyone offered to take a drink order. The food was overpriced. The filet was a terrible choice. I can do better at home for 10$. All in all, sorely disappointed and will not be returning to ever give it another shot.
My only complaint is that our main courses were out an on the table before we had finished our soup/salad. Because we were catching up after having not seen each other for two years, we were not eating very quickly. I wish someone had noticed and asked that our entrees be delayed for another 10-15 minutes. On the plus side, because the restaurant was not super busy, we were able to sit and talk for quite a while during the main courses and the dessert and afterwards. As always, the food was delicious and the service impeccable.
Attentive service. Delicious food. However, my serving of grouper/rockfish was extremely small.
Excellent as always. Great drinks, great menu and specials.
My steak was way under cooked and really tough. About a third of it was all fat and couldn’t even be ate. Potatoes were cold and bland. Out of the four dinners our table had only one was good. So for the money we spent there for sure should have went somewhere different
Service was a little slow getting started, but it picked up and was fine for the remainder of the meal. Salt & pepper shakers were not set on the table so we had request them.
The cocktails were done very well.
The food is usually great, but this night execution was was weak for a couple of items.
The clam chowder and tomato basil soup were both delicious, as were the Lamb Meatballs
Red Mole Sauce.
The Mediterranean Vegetable Lasagna was outstanding.
However, they just couldn’t get the Sorghum Infused Duck Breast right. First, I ordered it cooked “medium to medium-well”, and it was delivered rare/medium rare. After it was sent back to be cooked as requested, it was returned, and cooked more, but still not medium. In addition, whoever plated it forgot the heirloom tomatoes. I might not have missed them, except the second plate was noticeably smaller than what was originally delivered. We were on our way to a movie and didn’t have time for a third try. What could have been a great dish was disappointing.
The carrot cake, which is supposed be served warm, was served piping hot—too hot to eat at first. After almost burning our mouths, we had to wait for it to cool off to eat it.
Ambience was rated lower because, though we had a nice big table, the space was so tight we had to pull in our chairs when someone had to get by.
Lovely evening! Good vegetarian options. Relaxed without any encouragement to hurry the meal alone. We sat indoors, but would have enjoyed the outside if it had not been so hot.
Foodie heaven, this place! Attentive and pleasant wait staff, and comfortable, eclectic decor! Love the artwork that adorns the walls. Can’t wait to go again.
The duck and salmon were very good , service is average , coffee and drink prices about average for the area , went there for my wife's birthday and spent about , $100 for a applitazer , dinner non-alcoholic drinks and dissert , so fair value for the money , have been back a second time for just a date night with my wife and was about $50 , so without all the bells and whistles it's about average for the area and the food is very good
This gem, tucked away in Berry Hill provides excellent service, food, and atmosphere. We dined outside and it was such a lovely experience.
Excellent cocktails! Menu was spot on, perfect mussels, highly recommended them. filet was exactly right.
Love this place for all types of dining
Chose the restaurant due to it's proximity to our location and was pleasantly surprised as to the quality of the food and service, both of which were excellent - especially for a Monday night.
We had the scallop special & the New York strip special & both were excellent. Nice, friendly waiter.
Delicious food and great service! We enjoyed sitting on the patio on a nice evening.
Always a great place to dine. Food I’d consistently good
I met a friend for dinner that I hadn't seen in 5 years. Before I knew it we had been there 4 hours! The entire time the waistress and manager checked on us and provided awesome service. The atmosphere was so quaint and perfect, and the food was devine! I will definitely be back!
Everything was great. Our server, Natalie, was wonderful.
It was very hot in the restaurant the evening we visited. The food was delicious. Service was mediocre.
Always good! The tables are very close and at times it’s difficult to carry on a conversation.
Excellent in every way!
very unexpected surprise. will return. nice to not have to go downtown for a great meal
As always the food was really great. But one party ordered the halibut and the portion was VERY small given the $37 price
The table was situated between two hard walls; which, made it a bit tight for two adult males. Nonetheless, it was comfortable. The Yellow Porch is known for AWESOME food and that it was. Paella was abundant with all the ingredients that were on the menu and the tomato broth had a bit of spice that was welcomed and enjoyed. The Lemon Artichoke Soup was a request for the evening so I had to try it. Not disappointing but not as flavorful as the house specialty, Celery Blue Cheese Soup the restaurant is known for. Coconut Cream Pie was delicious. It was very dense, a lot like a cheesecake, but a delightful escape from the “traditional.” Lastly, the martini’s were phenomenal. Expertly proportioned, chilled to perfection and expedient in delivery.
Our server was lovely, great demeanor and very knowledgeable. A near miss with the dipping oil for the bread basket and dropped silverware (other staff and other tables too) was unnerving.
Overall, a great experience. AWESOME food, great flavors, served piping hot and expeditious. Definitely recommend for any occasion.
Amazing food & great atmosphere!
Love this place. First time ever my meal was not outstanding, but I blame that on me. I know better when it comes to ordering. Still my goto place for birthday and anniversary.
I love The Yellow Porch. The food is always fresh and creative. You can always find something exciting to try.
Excellent food and service in a close in neighborhood.
Great attentive wait staff. Creative and tasty dishes! Nice atmosphere.
