Terrific experience. Best salmon entree i have ever had. it was a monday night. Quiet atmosphere.
Enjoyed the experience! We were there early (pre-Opry) and were in a little bit of a rush. The service was outstanding. I had the bass special which was delicious! Fresh, perfectly cooked, delightful flavors.
The food was excellent, arrived in a timely manner, and our server was friendly, prompt and informative. All in all a very good night out.
The food was excellent, as was the service, and for a reasonable price. We will definitely be back soon!
We feel like we have found our special place. Small intimate restaurant, great food and great service. I can't wait until it gets warm enough to dine on the patio. We will be back again and again.
This was our third trip to the Yellow Porch and was another great experience. The menu is always evolving. The food is always excellent. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Although it is close to almost everything, it can be a little tricky to figure out how to actually get there... especially for us out of towners. The parking lot is a little tight. Don't let either of those things stop you and enjoy a lovely meal at one of our favorite Nashville restaurants.
Used to come here all the time and it was awesome. This time, although the service was outstanding, the food was just ok. The "cocktail" was served in a water/tea glass with ice and a straw so it was watery and super dated--like I was drinking a Long Island Iced Tea at Red Lobster. The server was kind enough to change it out to a martini glass. The appetizer (cheese fritters) were supposed to be hot, but they were just lukewarm. Oh well, it's cheese, right? The entrees were good, but the pasta bowl was strangely huge...again, sort the all-you-can eat buffet feel rather than a foodie kind of place. The dessert was the most disappointing. The carrot cake was layered with cream cheese...not cream cheese frosting, CREAM CHEESE. Ugh. We all agreed the baker perhaps forgot the sugar, but the server said it was always like that. She offered to get us another dessert, but it was really a moot point because the other dessert (Tres Leches) was more like Dos Leches and I didn't want to let her know that was bad too. The cake was tough with syrupy, canned tasting peaches on it. It bore little resemblance to it's namesake, my favorite dessert, as there was the milk it sat in (1 leches) and the cream on top (2 leches), but it was missing the 3rd leches. Anyway, we didn't order a replacement because we suspected we would get more of the same. Sad because 5 years ago, this was one of the best places in Nashville. Someone must have stolen their chef.
One of my go to places for an excellent dinner. I have never had a bad meal here and the food has always been excellent. Try the Sweetwater Tennessee Sharp Cheddar Fritters; they're excellent. The only problem is picking a favorite from the menu - can't do it. Just have to have something different every time I visit.
Carrie is an amazing hostess! Great helpful attentive personality. Food was down right tops! Red pepper coconut soup sublime. Filet mignon very flavorful. Duck breast so tender and paired wonderfully with gnocchi. Vanilla bean creme brulee was the cherry on the experience.
We were seated next to the bar which felt crowded but the porch area and booths looked cozy. Went on a Tuesday night so don't know about noise level but there are many tables in a smaller space. Definite gem!!!
Our waiter Todd was first rate. The anti-pasta appetizer was superb and so were the steak and the trout with shrimp dinners. Personally I'm not wild about Brussels Sprouts, no matter how they're prepared. Did not care for the Manhattan cocktail at all but loved the Italian Pinot Grigio. In fact, it was superb.
Food and drink was delicious! The Cheddar Fritters are amazing and the Mussels are the best I have every had. It is the only thing I ever order.
If you are looking for a quiet place to chat on date night, this is it--before 7pm. After that, the dining area and bar are full and the noise can be overwhelming. The staff are all knowledgeable and have made great wine recommendations to go with whatever we choose from the menu. The Antipasti plate is an outstanding appetizer! This is our go-to restaurant for a nice early dinner!
We were very disappointed based on our many previous experiences.
Great place. Always enjoy going to the Yellow Porch.
Always great food and the service tonight was lovely. Always a little noisy but in a good, energetic way. Salmon with risotto was perfect, beet salad is excellent. My husband had the NY strip and it was huge and cooked to perfection.
This place is one of Nashville’s gems. New restaurants come and go and are often not worth a second look. We had salmon and duck which were fantastic! Drinks are excellent and the service is fantastic- smart, knowledgeable, and friendly with great suggestions. And then the special desert of strawberry shortcake with fresh berries and a homemade lemon biscuit. Try it if you have never been and you will be hooked! Can’t wait to go back!
It was average overall. The food had decent flavor but the knife skills were sloppy (giant chunks of beet on the salad, underwhelming.). My beef was obscured by a salad on top, which was on top of all the sides, messy plating. The salmon was cooked well. Dessert was also average.
This is a favorite of ours. The food is consistent and delicious. Our recent visit was in celebration of our nine year anniversary. Our waiter was attentive and fantastic - even bought our desserts. So kind!
Thank you to the entire team for a great experience.
Celebrated 2 birthdays! Wonderful food and service!
Great meal. A good wine list, while I was the only one in our party to have a mixed drink, it was as good as I've had anywhere in Nashville.
Our favorite restaurant. You can't beat The Yellow Porch. Food and service are always spot on. Only complaint is the noise. It is not a good place for large parties as that only increases the noise level and makes conversation almost impossible.
Amazing dinner, absolutely delicious unusual combinations. Worth a visit!
Our favorite neighborhood restaurant.
We enjoyed a nice dinner with girlfriends at Yellow Porch. The food and service is consistently good. I think the prices are more reasonable that other new restaurants plus it offers a wide variety.
Just a little hole in the wall off the beaten path with a creative menu served by a seasoned wait staff. Worth a visit!
This was my second visit to this restaurant and it was just as amazing as the first. Todd was a terrific server and took care of all of our needs. I highly recommend this restaurant!
A favorite neighborhood restaurant with great food and moderately priced
Great experience, great service. Will definitely come on back.
The Yellow Porch is always good and one of our favorites!
Enjoyed our dinner at the Yellow Porch. Have not dined at Yellow Porch in a long time. The cheese ball appetizer was yummy, the duck was very good and the short ribs were the perfect comfort food. Too full for dessert.
We enjoyed the Yellow Porch for our Valentine’s dinner. We had the crab cake appetizer. The service was great. It is a small but nice venue. I would say nice for a special occasion because the price is more than I could pay for average dining. My husband had the pork chop and I had the mesquite chicken. It was an overall nice experience.
Really an outstanding, unpretentious restaurant in Nashville, a bit off the beaten path if you aren't from here; but trust your GPS, and the trip to Yellow Porch will be short and interesting - it is truly worth seeking out.
Everyone, from the greeting in the attended parking lot, to the maitre d', the bar staff, and the wait staff, all work happily together to be very sure all the customers' needs are met, professionally and efficiently. My bartender/server, Katie, was outstandingly professional, yet warm. Everyone at nearby tables was so hilariously ebullient about the food that they received, I wouldn't be surprised if they offered a bite. About the nearby tables; I went on one of the most crowded days of the restaurant year, Valentine's Day, and thanks, Yellow Porch, for the space. It's nice to see a relatively small place that does not try to cram as many "four-tops" into their space that they could. It's a sign of confidence and class that there is room to walk between tables, and a refreshing contrast to most other money-is-everything places in Nashville... And the sense of happiness in community was really palpable. Everyone, staff and guests, was happy. Just good karma all around here. I would recommend this place in a rare, unqualified manner. It is really that good. Yellow Porch is an exemplary, classy yet relaxed, impressive place.
I have been to The Yellow Porch several times for dinner. My husband and I went for Valentines Day and got the scallops. Once again, the food and service was on point!
Lovely food! Wonderful service!
After seeing paella on the menu, I was very much looking forward to dinner. I ordered it, but that was a huge let down. Their paella was not good. It was runny and more like gumbo or jambalaya. It was certainly not like any paella I had ever had. I ate the mussels and fish, but couldn't do the rest. It just wasn't that good. Service was ok. The server never bothered to ask how anything was or why I hadn't eaten my meal. The wine was great, and my husbands meal was delicious. He had the stuffed trout.
I've been to the Yellow Porch numerous times. I was excited to have dinner there as I hadn't eaten there in a pretty long time. I just moved back to the Nashville area after having been gone the past 15 years. I hate to say this but it was a VERY disappointing experience. First of all, the restaurant is very small. This makes it quite difficult to get to the restroom. The tables are so close together that you can barely get between them to get to the back of the restaurant where the restroom is located. Additionally, there is only a single restroom for ladies. In my opinion, this is unacceptable! If someone else is in there for a while, it can make for a terrible experience.
Secondly, the quality of the food is not what I had experienced in the past. My husband ordered the strip steak. It was $40. It was tough and there was not much food on the plate for $40. I ordered the filet. It was pretty good, but again it was a skinny portion of food for the price. Our friend ordered the fish 2 ways. She was the most disappointed. Her fish was the equivalent of a few bites. She about fell out. She ended up eating half of her husband's strip steak (he ordered the same thing as my husband) because her food didn't begin to fill her up.
The only bright spot of the night was our waitress. She was phenomenal - very sweet and did a fabulous job taking care of us!
Unfortunately, we definitely won't be back.
Outstanding food and wonderful service! We always return!
I met friends for dinner and we had a delightful time catching up. It was a good atmosphere with a delicious meal. I have been there many times and am never disappointed. Would recommend it to anyone.
The only downside is the parking situation. Other than that - Yellow Porch is awesome!
