The Yellow Porch
The Yellow Porch is a food oasis, complete with small patio garden, located on Thompson Lane in Berry Hill. Opened in 1998 as one of a handful of independently owned restaurants in Nashville doing casual fine dining, it has always been loved for its displays of local art inside, its friendly, talented staff and an inviting setting. The cozy and intimate dining room is a great place for a power lunch or romantic dinner and the charming outdoor patio area with surrounding greenery offers a refreshing dining experience. The Yellow Porch is creative in its food offerings, with a seasonal menu that boasts Mediterranean influences. The wine list is selected with a nod toward the unique, well-priced "find" and the full bar ranges from time-honored staples to local and boutique spirits.

Our table had the duck, pork chop, filet and fresh halibut special. All delicious. Our server was outstanding. We also shared the warm carrot cake and bananas foster cake/ice cream. This is a must stop for a fabulous meal!
Really great dining experience. Staff and service were wonderful, food was excellent! Will definitely go back soon.
We started with cheese fritters & celery soup which were both outstanding. For entrees we had seared halibut (so yummy) & penne with a really flavorful vodka sauce. The waiter was the best - loved chatting with him about Nashville. Would definitely come back next time we’re here!
I love this neighborhood restaurant! The ambience on the porch is lovely and inviting. Service is always friendly. The food is terrific, and and excellent wine list too!
It was a great dining experience with amazing service.
Always wonderful. Great service and the food is amazing !!
My husband had the duck entree, I had the lamb. Both were excellent. We ate outside on the porch. It is covered in vines and feels very secluded .The noise level is low especially for a location close to a busy road. I would highly recommend!
Yay for the Yellow Porch!
Excellent, as always. Don’t miss the celery and bleu cheese soup (might sound a bit unusual, but it is quite tasty, and most memorable!); the salads are delightful, as are the entrees. Our dinner server, Adam, was efficient, fantastic, friendly and fun. We always enjoy the YP. The parking can be a bit tricky, but that’s because everyone is coming here!
Absolutely excellent dinner last night. Excellent service & excellent food.
The Yellow Porch has been in my top 3 favorite restaurants in Nashville for at least a decade, and for good reason. It serves consistently delectable dishes - from starters to desserts - and does so with elegance, charm, and style. The ambience of the place is the perfect mix of class and casual. While everything I’ve tried is stellar, the duck plate is an absolute standout; you can’t beat it. Don’t even try. Finish it off with the chocolate torte and a good red, and you will leave satisfied every. %*&@ing. time. Guaranteed.
Great place. parking is difficult but ok. staff were great.
Amazing experience. Food and ambiance was wonderful. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly. The Mediterranean Salad was as good as it always is - and the fresh bread was a treat. Don’t miss this great spot for a great meal.
The Yellow Porch is our favorite. The staff is so friendly! The food great! Love the salmon!!
We enjoyed a wonderful meal and great service here. Can't wait to come back! We ordered the carrot cake to share as a dessert. I don't like carrot cake and wasn't going to have any. But it looked so good, I took a bite. Oh my - it was delicious! All four of us agreed that the cake, as well as our meals, were delicious!
I cannot say enough about the wonderful food, service, atmosphere. What a pleasant surprise!
Celery blue cheese soup? Outstanding!
Best New York Strip, fork tender, steak in years! Halibut special was perfectly cooked too.
The Yellow Porch is a hidden gem among the Nashville foodie scene.
We will return, soon!
Food was outstanding as was the service. Menu is very eclectic and did not disappoint.
Everything was very great. The table for two was a bit cramped and without view. For our first visit it would have been nice to have been exposed to a little more of the dining room. We’ll definitely be back.
Loved it and our server Kaitlyn was wonderful!
Great service and great food.
Every bite was delicious, outdoor seating was perfect, and service was very helpful. Can't wait to go back!
Eric was our server and did a great job. Knew the menu and was extremely attentive without interfering in our conversation. Food was excellent with quite diverse choices for your palette.
Great food, as always. Server very nice and attentive. Will be back soon!
Lovely atmosphere and delicious food! A Nashville original, we will be back!
Our waiter, Todd, was wonderful. Food was fantastic. My last visit I was disappointed, but they completely redeemed themselves this trip. So yummy, and my faith in The Yellow Porch has been restored. Everything was cooked to perfection.
Fabulous food and great cocktails, will definitely return
This restaurant is highly recommended for its courteous staff and delicious food.
This was amazing experience!! Food was wonderful, wait staff was so attentive and nice, will definitely be going back!
Although it was our first trip to The Yellow Porch, it seemed like everyone else was a regular — waving or even hugging goodbye like they were leaving a family reunion. And I can see why. There's a cozy, neighborhood vibe. The mirrored walls make a small room feel comfortable. The Warhol-inspired country-pop art adds an understated stylish touch. The outdoor patio is hidden in plain sight. The menu was intriguing, top to bottom. Everything we ordered (filet, trout, mussels, fritters, cocktails) was delicious. The service was professional but friendly.
Overall, this is the type of neighborhood fine dining that is both upscale and approachable. The creativity of the menu demands a return visit. But the prices aren't so outrageous (Ex: $40 filet rather than $60-75 at a higher-end steakhouse) that you have to wait for an excuse. We went for a date night on a Thursday evening and it was perfect.
I always enjoy The Yellow Porch, good food and service.
One of the best restaurant experiences I have ever had. The staff was awesome, and the food was even better. I would happily come to this restaurant every time I visit Nashville.
What made it special was that even though I dined alone, I was not treated like a lone diner. The staff, even though they were short, were incredibly friendly and regularly checked on me. I know that some waitstaff can treat single diners different because the tips will be smaller, but this was not the case. They treated me like I was going to be their biggest tipper all night, and I appreciate that. If you're in Nashville, whether alone or in a group, go to this restaurant. You won't be disappointed.
Loved the food--only complaint was the lack of eggplant in the Greek salad--otherwise delicious
For how busy it was, the waitress was very efficient and kind. Food was fantastic!
Food and service were spot on. This has always been one of our go to places and have never been disappointed. There smoked salmon flatbread is the best.
It was fantastic!! Nice evening with friends. Everyone loved their meal.
Lovely meal excellent service!
I love The Yellow Porch. I eat here as often as I can. It’s a great place to bring people. The food is fantastic, the service is impeccable, and the atmosphere is comfortable.
Wonderful atmosphere and OUTSTANDING food. No matter the selection of food and/or drinks you can't go wrong.
Our server was fantastic. The salmon flatbread appetizer was very good. The duck as a little underwhelming for the price vs quantity. The halibut was amazing. Eric did a wonderful job in explaining specials and staying in touch with our table without over-imposing.
Sat on porch, which was perfect. Both had specials- one halibut and one New York strip. Crime Brûlée! Delicious!!
The best food. I guess we caught our server at an awkward time or he was too busy with outdoor patrons or maybe he just didn’t think we’d be good tippers. Idk. But usually I have great service, just not this time.
