We have always loved The Yellow Porch but they were a little "off" the Friday night after Thanksgiving. They removed the price of one of our entrees from our bill. We will return and hope for better luck next time!
We come to the Yellow Porch on a regular basis both for lunch and dinner. We've never been disappointed and our most recent visit was no exception. Thanks for your good work.
We went to celebrate my husband's birthday. Here is what I didn't like: He ordered his $40 steak cooked well done, and it came out medium (he ate as much as he could and never said anything). I ordered my salmon "very well done" yet it was 75% raw (I couldn't eat it and picked around it. I wish I had, but I didn't say anything because I didn't want to make a "celebration" turn negative). The squash/zucchini casserole that came with the salmon was so skimpy that the thin slice of salmon covered it, but that didn't matter because the taste was horrible (tasted like they took cooked the veges and put them in a paste of raw flour and water). The broccolini was WAY overcooked (why overcook this yet undercook the expensive steak/fish?) The EXPENSIVE bottle of wine was no better than the cheapest bottle you can get at any local liquor store. The server wouldn't look my husband in the eyes. She would look me in the eyes, but not him. The server was very nice but we rarely saw her and the time to go from one course to the other was way too long. We spent a lot more time waiting than eating. Was she back in the kitchen? I'm wondering because she would literally disappear - we wouldn't see her anywhere, and the place is very small.
Here is what I did like: The blue cheese celery soup is amazing! The spices in the olive oil (for the bread) were very good! The potato wedges that came with the steak were good. They take reservations. It was easy to get in/out of the restaurant with close parking, and so much better than fighting the traffic and parking downtown.
Bottom line: The food was sub-par yet very expensive. We wasted a lot of money for two bad meals and cheap wine. I don't plan to go back there again.
Really good food and service in a pleasant, comfortable, not-too-loud space. An added bonus is that the Yellow Porch is one of the few establishments in the area with adequate parking!
As usual the food and the service was outstanding. Always one of our go to places in town.
Difficult to find restaurant but food was very good. Service was excellent.
More than a decade and counting - still the best dining in Nashville - food, service, great conversation noise levels, ambiance. Just can't go wrong with The Yellow Porch. Thank you!
The food at Yellow Porch is consistently great. This time it was even more exceptional. What more can I say?
It was a good night with friends in a tried and true NAshville locals restaurant. It is so wonderful to be able to hear the conversation and enjoy a leisurely meal. The appetizer of cheese fritters were delicious, the Jolene cocktail was great and my pork chop was lovely. My husband said his duck was ok.
Overall I think you can’t go wrong at The Yellow Porch.
Amazing place as always! Met a blind date for dinner. Perfect place!
Great restaurant. Todd, our waiter was awesome!
If has been awhile since we had been there and I forgot how good it is. The halibut special was fabulous. The server recommended food and wine and his recommendations were spot on. He took the time to find out what we liked and his suggestions were exactly as he described. We were able to carry on a conversation without having to shout. The cost of the meal was very reasonable compared to some of the new restaurants in town. Great food in a comfortable setting and at a fair price. We will be back soon.
YELLOW PORCH IS A NASHVILLE SECRET. ALWAYS DELICIOUS!!
Usually love Yellow Porch, but service was really off this last time. Asked for an outside table and the hostess asked like it would be the end of the world to put two tables together, and then when I asked for the pecan martini which I’ve had a million times the server told me he’d worked there for years and never heard of that.
Have now visited Yellow Porch multiple times, and they continue to impress on all levels. Service is outstanding, the quality and quantity of the entrees is excellent, and value is great!
Continues to be I and my wife’s go to spot for an excellent dinner.
This is one of my very favorite places in Nashville. Went to enjoy wine and mussles on the patio - it is always a treat!
Consistent neighborhood restaurant
Paella needs a little more fish and shellfish.
Eric was our server and was great. My friend and I started with the paella as our appetizer! We then shared the rack of lamb and split the chocolate dessert. The Grand Tuscan wine was very good, made even better when Eric looked up the varietals in it. Sincerely one of my best meals in ages and I eat out a lot!
Parking is the only hiccup but park next door at the bank after they're closed!
The cutest little place with an adorable patio that is perfect for date night. The food was excellent, as was the service.
Absolutely loved our dining experience here. The food was incredible and the service was second to none. Definitely a new favorite in Nashville.
Delicious food. Service was amazing. I forgot my sweater and the waiter ran across the street to give back! Thanks.
My “go to” for a local restaurant that provides consistently good food and service along with a good wine list.
Great food as always!
We had a great dinner and excellent service. We enjoyed the duck and stuffed trout. The pork chop was tasty but a little dry and the salmon was delicious. We will be back! Always consistent cook service
We celebrated a friends birthday. Food was the best! Trout, salmon and lamb chops. Chocolate torte was Devine!
Cool ambiance and delicious food. The crab & shrimp stuffed trout was fantastic and the bread pudding was a classic treat. Service was excellent.
As always, the food was very tasty and attractively plated. The corn fritters are spectacular. And Eric does a great job at the table.
Very small parking lot but can’t be helped.
This is one of our favorite places and usually everything is terrific. Service this time was a little slow (even with a 6:15 reservation). The special “Halibut” was small, dry and overcooked , yet presented beautifully with delicious squash. Server (perhaps new, since we did not have Jim) asked if I enjoyed the dish which she had raved about (her job, I know) and when I told her my impression she said “sorry” and quickly departed.
We will return since I am certain this was a “one off”.
Excellent food, wine list and service. Nice quaint intimate restaurant with no loud music. A place you can carry on a conversation with friends. Always consistent food, never had a bad meal there.
As always Yellow Porch is a pure winner. Quality in every dish. We love it!! The only suggestion is that when we bring friends who are vegan/vegetarian, the choices are very limited. Mainly due to the dairy issue. All available options are quite tasty, but limited to salads. If there were just a couple of other options, we would bring our "special" friends more often! But for me, Yellow Porch Rocks!
Food and service were excellent. A little noisy, but not too bad. Would highly recommend. Flat Bread appetizer was excellent, a must order.
We had such a great time here EVERYONE was so nice. I had the duck and my husband had the lamb, wow it was delicious! The bread pudding was outstanding! Highly recommend this place!
The Yellow Porch has been a long standing favorite for meeting friends for a great dinner in an intimate and cozy atmosphere. You won't be disappointed.
I always enjoy the food and experience at The Yellow Porch.
I would recommend it for anyone wanting a quiet and quaint place to dine with friends or family.
This was our second time to dine at The Yellow Porch in about a month. Once again, we were not disappointed. Our server was friendly, helpful, and allowed us to enjoy dinner without feeling hurried. Food was excellent, and drinks were great as well. Try it!
One of Nashville's hidden gems. An old converted house in kind of a random location, so easy to miss, but the place has been around for 20 years and for good reason - the food is great and prices are reasonable. Dishes fall into the gourmet comfort food category, with a lot of interesting spins on traditional dishes. Unlike most of the newer Nashville restaurants that get all the rave reviews, you get a lot of food (and drink) for your dollar here, which is refreshing. Highly recommend finding this place on Google Maps and paying a visit
I love taking friends to this restaurant or guests from out of town. Food is always awesome and the service is great!
This was our first time at Yellow Porch and it was wonderful! The service was amazing, the food was delicious and the ambience was quiet and peaceful. I will definitely return!
Nice restaurant 10 minutes away from the downtown hassle. Food is very good and service is excellent. A good place to go if you are not aiming for an unusual dining experience. Perhaps a bit overpriced compared with other places in town with same level of dinner fare.
