Food was just bad. Over cooked, no flavor, bad bar food.

We were out in a corner with black walls, could barely read the menu. Service was not great. Waiter was not great at clearing plates when finished so we had no room for dinner cause our appetizer plates were still there, refilled our drinks left the empties there, he was also training someone & was obviously not training the right way to wait in tables. I was a waitress & this was not good service. Food was not great.

Our server was very friendly and helpful. The beer selection was superb and the food was excellent.

Awesome staff, food and drink. Impossible Burger is to die for and you can’t go wrong with any of the grilled cheese offerings. Beers rotate frequently (bring reading glasses as the beer menu font is tiny!)

We were in town to visit Pitt and wanted a Gastropub for dinner. Loved the variety of grilled cheese sandwiches. Waitress was awesome. My husband loved the beer selection.

Horrible service. The kitchen lost our ticket, so it took almost an hour to get food. Part of our meal was cold and done incorrectly. It also took over 15 minutes for someone to ask us about our bill, which we only got after speaking to a manager. He was nice enough to give us a discount. In total, we spend over an hour and a half there while people who sat down after us were able to leave before we even saw the bill.

Very good food, service was amazing. Was a little loud inside, hard to have a conversation.

Best philly cheese steak in Pittsburgh!

We decided to give The Yard another go, partly because we hadn't been there in a while, and partly because we forgot how underwhelming it is. What they do have is consistency, in terms of the food still being overpriced and not that great. The appetizer had to be sent back because it was still cold on the inside, the grilled cheese was a mess of over cooked and just bland, and the fries (which you pay extra for) were unseasoned.

I will say that the service was fantastic. Our service was outgoing and friendly; she seemed genuinely pleasant. She was right on refills, and made sure to stop back quickly to check on us. Her personal work is a 5-Star. It's just a pity she has to be so upbeat about serving such lackluster food.

This restaurant will not be added to our rotation.

Haven't been here in a year due to my husband's injury. This was one of his favorite casual restaurants. The menu is now much smaller. His favorite burger, the shrimp salad, and the crab grilled cheese are gone. If we weren't so hungry, we would have left. We won't be back.

Came here for mother’s day, scheduled for 4pm. I called around 1 to see if they could take us earlier and they said absolutely not, so no worries. When we showed up at 4 there was one other table... whatever. We were then seated close to the kitchen where we could hear a female server repeatedly using profane language, and on top of that service was extremely slow. Maybe it was an off day for them, but I definitely won’t be back.

Great beer list! The fare is standard bar fare, though their specialty Mac and cheese burgers are awesome. Tuesday night is 40 cent wing night.Ambiance is a rustic decor that is always appreciated in Pgh. I would check for reservations ahead of time

We had a great time there for a Sunday night dinner with friends. The grilled cheese sandwiches, poutine, and beer selection were all delicious, though my wife did mention that her burger was a bit overdone. I was particularly impressed that the server checked in on whether we were enjoying our drinks and offered to replace any we didn't enjoy. It turned out that I didn't enjoy one of my beers and it was replaced with something else that I did--an excellent way to show you care!

I normally love this place. I think they we’re just having a bad night.

Hadn't been in a while........and pleased that it was as nice/fun/tasty as I remembered. Service was good and the price is reasonable. Have spoken well of the evening and hope to return when schedules allow

Food is great; menu is extensive. Manager and server were very accommodating, from suggesting taste-testing of local brews on tap to adjusting TV channels to games we wanted to watch. We were visiting Pittsburgh, wish we had The Yard in our hometown! Also, lots of Gluten Free options!

Amazing place! We are here visiting family from texas. Best grilled cheese EVER. Pierogi’s in the sandwich. OMG! And homemade chips. And the waiter was personable and friendly.

The setting was largely collegiate with lots of background noise; typical ear piercings and tatoos! The food was delicious prompt and associated with designer drinks including a 'mixed' beer AND a Moscow Mule. When I commented on the 'weak' ginger taste, the manager brought us two little drams of their brewed ginger beer for us to taste.

They have an eclectic adult grilled cheese menu, which was for the most part, pretty good. Service was slow, we waited forever for our food. Energetic atmosphere. Fun place.

The atmosphere and food were great! We didn’t have to wait since we made a reservation through Open Table. Parking is also very close and convenient.

This location has local watering hole feel with some very interesting takes on the grilled cheese sandwich. This is a place to come to catch up with friends have a great beer and some pretty amazing comfort food. The atmosphere is casual, very relaxed and very welcoming. You have to try it out.

Food was nothing special at all, expected much more. Always heard of amazing grilled cheese specialty sandwiches, wasn't even sure there was cheese on mine. Side of Mac instead of tomato soup for $3 was good but very small, making a sandwich and chips $15. Would rate average at best, maybe expected too much from the hype, it disappointed.
