The Yard Ratings and Reviews
Not a good experience
I selected this locale as it was close to the Royal Farms Arena, where we were attending a concert and it had good reviews on Open Table.
1. They could not find my reservation
2. They attempted to seat us at the front of the venue where it was noisiest
3. The menu was much more abbreviated than what is on their website
4. We were never offered a drink menu
5. The servers, while pleasant in demeanor, were overwhelmed and disorganized
Our server did show up shortly after we were seated and took our drink order. While drinks took a while to come out (as the bar was packed), we could live with that. Our server never stopped by again. After 30 minutes, we got up and left. We had fast food for dinner so we could still make the concert.
Overall the experience was very good! We arrived on time for our reservation and were seated promptly. Our server appeared within moments (Kai - very upbeat and attentive) and took our drink & appetizer orders. After a few moments our dinner order was placed. Each course arrived timely, sufficiently spaced one from the other. The charcuterie platter was to our liking with sufficient portions of salami, proscuitto and various cheeses...yum! For the main course the salmon was prepared exactly as requested, sauce and veggies very good match, compliments to Chef Albert! (who also checked on us midway through our meal). Dessert and coffee to top things off....coffee could have been fresher. Again, experience was pleasant, however the volume of wall TVs and overhead music needs to be lowered so you can hear your own conversations.
Went there with friends to celebrate my birthday before going to the O's game. It was right next door to Camden Yards. Food and drink were great and the service very good. And the price represented good value as well. A win all around. Keep up the good work!!!
My friends and I attended a baseball game at Camden Yard which included having lunch prior to the game. I researched local eateries which had received great ratings and your restaurant was highly rated and very close to the game. The food was very good, but the cheese cake was a little plan. Overall the lunch was very good and we had a great time.
Showed up and had to wait for receptionist to finish her chat with friends. Shown to our table which was next to one which had not been cleared, even though the restaurant was almost empty. Once cleared, there was dirt and food left on the bench seat which we shared, along with every table on the wall. The waiter was nice, but blue jeans doesn't seem to be appropriate for anything other than Applebee's. Very limited menu and prices were extremely high. My "Angus" burger reminded me of McDonalds, only the bun wasn't not quite as fresh, and only $15. Fries, however, were very good.
Dinner for 4 set us back $140, and nobody had fancy drinks or exotic food, just burger, salad, pizza and the like.
With all the options around the Inner Harbor, I don't understand how they justify their existence. If we weren't meeting people at the hotel who were attending a convention, we would have left.
The Yard was very disappointing not because of the service or the food itself, but because it was not at all what was advertised on OpenTable. It is a Mariott hotel chain restaurant, without windows on the outside and a good American menu for its price. The menu is similar to a good bar menu, not the modern american and fine cuisine menu posted on OpenTable. It is a good lunch or business meal place, but definitely not for someone looking for fine cuisine, a quiet date night or a restaurant like atmosphere.
wonderful customer service and attention
with participation in the Baltimore "show your badge" program the resulting discount really made the meal value hard to pass up
particularly good value at breakfast - the buffet was excellent with cook to order eggs and omelets
This was definitely not what we expected. I never expected to pay 20 dollars to park. Or to wait 45 min for 3 kids meals(chicken and fruit) chicken wings and a hamburger. Our server was josh, he was ok just came up missing..talked to the manager Luis about the faulty menu and the wait. I only recieved an appology and the im new game. What's online is different than in the restaurant. That sucks, when your expecting something else. We expected better for 70 dollars plus parking..
I had high hopes for The Yard given both its menu and good reviews. Service was painfully slow and I had to ask at the end of the meal that I be checked in properly for Open Table.
More disappointing was the food. This is crab country but the crab pretzels were served room temp to cold and just not very good. The Maryland Crabcake lacked flavor and freshness.
Overall, I think The Yard was a let down.
My fiance and I had an amazing dining experience here on Monday, the evening of May 1st! Our server Tyre was EXCELLENT!! I appreciated his honesty and ability to be openly candid with us when we asked his opinions of the menu. My fiance loved his crab mac and cheese (healthy portion) and I enjoyed the Falafel burger immensely, it was just simply delicious. We received a nice, half moon booth (Table 38) surrounded by tv's and we had a nice sized flat screen right next to our booth. I loved that factor! My fiance and I had a nice evening out and he was able to catch the playoff games as well. It was definitely a win-win. The food was delectable and the service was above average. Tyre checked on us often but was not over bearing, he knew just when to stop by our table. The manager that evening was also delightful! He came by our table to check on us and we exchanged humorous anecdotes about life! My fiance and I are getting married next year . He was so down to earth and genuine and gave us some sound advice for a happy marriage! I would like to thank Tyre and the manager on duty that night for a truly amazing dining experience!! These two men truly love what they do and are so personable with guests! We will back for sure.
Food was good but not great. Service was friendly but not working very well, as though things were getting out of control somewhere. This sometimes happens in restaurants in hotels, where the restaurant is sometimes like an afterthought. Best for high-spirited happy hour, which did not describe our group. We were pre-theater but had a lot of time, which was fortunate, because everything took a very long time.
I can vouch for the same prior review from april 20th. When we showed up, there was no one at the hostess station. We picked through the side box and noticed that exactly like the prior review, they had printed some sort of temporary menu on one sheet of paper that only had 2 entree choices that were both seafood. The menu offered was absolutely nothing like what was advertised on the app. We were told that they offer a limited menu when busy, and we left and went to Pratt St. Ale House -- highly recommended, not so much for the yard.
We had made reservations for our pre-theater dinner after seeing their menu online. When we arrived we were given a menu with literally only two entrees on it, both seafood and neither anything I wanted. The other options were sandwiches, salads and appetizers. We would never have come had we known they had reduced their menu to only two entrees. They claimed that they use a smaller menu when they do not anticipate being busy. However, while we were there they were at least more than half full. I ordered a turkey blt. The bread was over toasted and incredibly dry as was the roasted turkey in the sandwich to the point it was hard to chew and swallow. We will not go back.
False advertising is just the start of my worst experience ever at a restaurant. For starters, the menu online DOES NOT REALLY EXIST. They changed and cut off the entire menu--what can you expect from a hotel bar? The selections on the menu were sparse and I got stuck eating the worst burger I've ever had and my partner had the crabcake sandwich that BARELY had crab in it. The waiter apologized profusely for the menu not being updated, but that wasn't enough to make up for the lack of options. I almost walked out and went to Chpotle--that's how unimpressive the place is. I would NOT go here unless you're stuck in Baltimore and everything else is closed or booked up. The Yard ranks as one of my all-time biggest disappointments!
Was very good - Tyrese was an excellent waiter, attentive and polite. It's a bar/restaurant in a hotel and has that feel. If they closed it off from the hallways, it might have had better ambiance; there was a modeling thing happening in the other hallway causing some commotion and blocking access to restrooms. Food was good, just nothing particularly special, and menu was very limited.
Waited at the host/hostess stand for 5 minutes with nobody there. Finally went to the bar to ask if anyone was greeting. He found someone to seat me and I was given a choice of 2 areas--I picked the one with better lighting. Almost immediately a manager-type guy came over and asked if I would move to the other area. I asked to stay where I was and he let me. 5 more minutes with nobody checking on me and the manager guy came by and asked if I wanted something other than water (which I didn't have yet). I said water was fine and I was ready to order. He pointed over at a waitress if seen working the other tables near me and said she'd take care of me. I said she hadn't even acknowledged me being there so he took my order. 15 minutes later my lunch combo soup and sandwich arrived (actually both were pretty nice) and were delivered by the same manager-guy. About 15 minutes later as I was finishing eating the waitress finally checked on me for the very first time and dropped off my check. I had a business discount available that I asked her to apply and was told that wasn't allowed on the lunch combo. It was more than 10 minutes later that I finally flagged her down to take my credit card.
Overall, decent food and nice atmosphere but very lacking service from everyone I encountered.
Can't imagine I will return.
Service was great! Food was ok, but not spectacular.
Hummas app and the pesto penne was good.
Burger and fries were poor
We ordered olives for app and normally served warm but these were ice cold
Weird space for restaurant in such a big hotel. Cramped
Probably would not eat there again.
