Nestled in the heart of historic Old Worthington, the Worthington Inn offers the legacy and charm of a 19th century Victorian inn with a dining experience that is anything but old-fashioned. Chef Mike Water's commitment to sourcing only the freshest ingredients from local farmers results in truly unique and mouth-watering fare you won't find anywhere else in Columbus.
Due to high demand, the patio is seated on a first-come, first-served basis. We will attempt to accommodate your request but cannot guarantee an outdoor table at the time of your arrival.
Unfortunately, the experience was just okay. I dined during one of the final days the restaurant was open for business, and after that information was publicized in the local newspaper. I suspect there were many patrons using up gift cards, shortage of staff, etc. We were seated in the bar area and the noise level was loud.
Worthington Inn never disappoints. I have gone there approximately, a dozen times over the past 25 years. I was lucky to have gone this week, since we learned the restaurant closes on January 1. Oh no!
Brunch was good. Especially enjoyed the hashbrowns. Disappointed when told "no toast." No toast offered during brunch was a first!
Excellent service and food! Our family loved weekend brunch Great place e to celebrate. Thank you Alex!!
Birthday & Christmas celebration. Everything was great except our waitress was not real attentive to us. Waited forever for our me.
Our small group of close friends enjoys having a festive lunch here yearly. Out server was attentive but never rushed us. The food was delicious and the inn was decorated beautifully.
I love the Worthington Inn. It never disappoints. Service was not as good as usual, but that was because it was full and a new young employee, but he will be great with time. Make reservation over holidays. Great food!!
We always have a great time at The Worthington Inn! Weekend brunches are always popular, so we make sure to make reservations. The brunch menu is elaborate with a lot of options, and an excellent Bloody Mary bar! The service is usually slow and relaxed, but if you mention that you're in a hurry the servers are pretty good at getting you your checks.
Always one of our favorites. The food is excellent, although the menu continues to get smaller and less varied. The addition of the bar menu was a welcome change. My only beef is I wish there was more convenient parking. On our last visit, I had to park several blocks away (on a Thursday night)!
We had to wait awhile before we were approached by a server. In fact we had to ask someone. A young gentleman server was not aware that our table was his. He did an outstanding job! The food was excellent!
It’s abeatiful inn and we were looking forward to celebrating a special birthday but we have NEVER had such slow inattentive service! It was not a busy evening and we were so disappointed. The food was fine but nothing special especially with the price and expectation. We won’t return
I was very disappointed that there were so few Christmas decorations up. My wife's lunch (salmon) was good. The beef on my Thai salad was way too salty and the salad part was good but nothing special - I should have sent it back.
Very pleasant as usual
Whereas the Worthington Inn was, at one time, one of my favorite restaurant in Columbus I can’t honestly lay claim to that assessment again…at least not until some changes are made…for the better. Our 7:30 PM reservations were not honored in a timely fashion. Once we were seated we had still to wait another 25 minute for a server. Our food was mediocre at best. One of the dishes I was so looking forward to was the Asian inspired Calamari. Yet when it arrived it was extremely rubbery and hard to chew. It had obviously been overcooked. My wife’s Salmon Corn chowder was served lukewarm, not hot. The only saving grace was the drinks which were on target. I was terribly disappointed in our dining experience in a restaurant which, at one time, I had considered to be one of the best restaurants in Columbus.
Great place to dine, especially during the holidays - beautiful decorations, fires blazing in the fireplaces, cozy and relatively quiet. We went for weekend brunch. Our food was fine, but the service was just fair. We had to ask about the specials; and, throughout the meal, we had to ask for coffee, water, butter, etc. We expected more attentive service for one of the area's best restaurants.
Special occasion was best friend’s birthday. She ordered the burger “with no red but not burnt.” The burger came with red clearly showing. Had to be sent back, of course. I was looking forward to their “house-made veggie burger” but It was small and flat and nothing special AT ALL. I would have enjoyed a frozen Boca Burger from Kroger’s more. But the bun was large and it came with enough fries to feed an army so I guess THAT was supposed to make it special.
Beautiful restaurant. Great food and service. We will be back for the brunch!
Everyone was happy with their food.
Great food. Great value. Delicious menu and cocktails.
This was my first visit to the Worthington Inn but it won't be my last. I made a reservation for our neighborhood ladies lunch bunch for our Christmas luncheon. The food was excellent, loved the ambiance, our waiter was very good and we had a wonderful time. Love that it was quiet enough that we could talk and actually hear each other. The Worthington Inn is a real gem.
I love this location for small group dinners. We were able to have quiet conversation as we dined. The ambiance of the lit fireplace and the Christmas decorations heightened the Holiday spirit. My only complaint is that my steak was a little tough, but no complaints from the other 2 diners, and the rest of my meal was excellent.
Loved the ambiance, the history, and the area - strolled after the meal and it was a lovely afternoon. I saw reviews that the service was not awesome. We were one of two tables in the dining room and yet had a difficult time getting servers attention. I expect to be treated like a guest, a welcome guest, and perhaps a lot more attention.
Always a good experience here! Great patio seating in the summer. Perfect for a romantic evening out.
Fancy and authentic without being pretentious. Food was good in quiet, old world charm decor location. We got a table in upstairs near front window and gas fireplace. Very nice atmosphere and high quality food.
Atmosphere was nice. Good for quiet conversation. Food was decent for the price. Don't expect cutting edge menu or unique cuisine, but it is good food. Dessert options were blah.
I were very disappointed. We totaled 4 guests. We had cold soup, a fly in a water glass, terrible cocktails, and the waitress brought a free birthday desert with nuts after I had asked to take nuts off of a salad. We felt for the money we paid, it was a terrible value.
There were 6 of us celebrating a friend's birthday. We all really enjoyed our lunch!
Food is always top notch. We enjoy how the Worthington Inn is much quieter than many comparable restaurants. You can actually hear all the folks at the table. The Inn itself is historic and in a historical setting, among the old New England-style buildings that Worthington has preserved. It's the historic atmosphere that attracts people to Worthington, and the Worthington Inn is the perfect place to experience that ambiance.
Food was great. Service was a little slow. We didn't realize it was the holiday celebration in town and it was very busy. Our reservation didn't go through so we didn't get seated in the main dining room but the bar was a bit quieter except for one particularly loud family. Would definitely go again on a hopefully less busy day.
We went for brunch on a Sunday for a family gathering. Ambiance is always lovely in this historic old inn and they use high quality local ingredients. Food was excellent and the server was very attentive.
We came to celebrate a birthday and the Worthington Inn was an extra gift!! Food was outstanding. In our party folks had seafood, steaks, chicken and vegan and everyone said their dinner was delicious.
It was quiet in the restaurant (we were probably the noisiest). All in all a great night.
My wife and I had a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary. The service was wonderful.
Very good meal and wine! The beef Worthington is totally worth the price!
FANTASTIC SERVER MADE OUR DATE AMAZING!!! THANKS STONE!!!!
It was a bummer to walk all through the restaurant to find the hostess really?!!!!
And only 1 bathroom for ladies?! You got to be joking...
There are 3 dedicated women's restrooms with 2 stalls and 2 sinks in our historic restaurant with 1 on each of our 3 main floors. There is also a unisex restroom adjacent to our private wine room on the lower level. We are bummed you didn't ask our staff as they would have been more than happy to show you these. On your next visit, we recommend using the main entrance to our restaurant which is on West New England Avenue and the hostess will be there to greet you.
Excellent service. Food was delicious!
Never again. I've given this restaurant several chances. This time for brunch. It took almost an hour and 15 minutes after we ordered for our food to come out. It was waffles. How long does it take to cook waffles? The waiter did not come around to see if we needed anything. We had to keep asking for more water, more coffee, and the waiter wouldn't budge to be proactive during our long wait. He was civil, but not exactly friendly. Then, we waited forever for the checks, then forever for him to take our money, then forever for him to run the credit cards. The food was decent, and always is, but EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I have tried the Worthington Inn, the service is very poor, and the attitude is not much better. I am in walking distance from there, and would love to be able to stop in. But, never again.
Had An amazing time. Only thing I didn't like was the au gratin potatoes. Otherwise the food was amazing!
We were at the Worthington Inn on a Wednesday night. We ordered the Steak Frites and the Scallop Linguine, Fall Harvest Salad and Salmon soup. We also had two of your season cocktails.
The soup and the salad were very good, but the scallops were rubbery and the steak was flat and uninspired. The broccoli raab that came with the steak was very overly salted. Maybe the "C" team chef was on in the middle of the week.
The seasonal cocktails were interesting and we enjoyed them very much. The atmosphere is outstanding ( reminds us of the years we spent in the greater Boston area). Our waitress ( Anna) was wonderful, engaging and fun to talk to. She made up for the horrible entrees we were served.
My name is Mike and I’m the chef at The Worthington Inn. I wanted to personally apologize for the unsatisfactory experience you had. We strive to provide people with excellent food, up to par with our service and the beauty of our dining rooms. Obviously, we failed to do so on this occasion and we would like to thank you for bringing this to our attention. We value your input are are reviewing the preparations of the dishes you had to ensure they are as outstanding as our cocktails and service.
We enjoy this place for happy hour, but not a great brunch spot. Greasy and pricey.
