The Worthington Inn Ratings and Reviews
The food was excellent with decent choices for my vegan girl friend. Our waitress was outstanding and very helpful. We had a very romantic table by the fireplace and it was just an very enjoyable evening. It isn't cheep but you get what you pay for. Defiantly recommend for any evening dinning but special occasions are the best.
The Valentine Sparkler cocktail was delicious, while avoiding being overly sweet, despite the sugar cube in the bottom of the glass, the ginger liqueur gave it a very lovely taste. The surf and turf with béarnaise sauce was wonderful too. We enjoyed the fireplace and being able to speak to and hear each other, despite a good and lively crowd that evening.
It was our 1 year of marriage anniversary and we came back to the place where we got married. We received the exact table we sat at last year and had great service.
Chef has killed it with the Beer Battered Tofu. It was awesome and a great addition to the menu. As a vegetarian I appreciate chefs who are up to the challenge of a vegetarian meal. With this creation you are really on to something great. We also had the Harvest Vegetable Plate which is always good, but better than usual this time.
The Vanilla Creme Brûlée was amazing!
Management and Jenny took great care of us. Thank you for a wonderful anniversary dinner.
First time visit and was pleasantly surprised. The food was
excellent and enjoyed the ambiance. The swordfish was superb and the bread top notch. The cheesecake was a dream. Great service and a great spot. Is a good place to dine and quiet enough to carry on a conversation. Great wine selection. Will definitely go back.
I was a little shocked that the service was so poor. I went to Sunday brunch with my family on 2/4/18 after attending a number of functions at the worthington inn. My daughters and I attended after church. All food items (waffle, south of the border bowl, calamari app and burger) were poor except for the crab cake Benedict. Even worst was the service. Our waitstaff was flustered and confused.
From beginning to end, the food was spectacular. The Covey Rise chicken was prepped perfectly and finishing the meal with the S'Mores creme brulee was a great decision. I love the revival of Olde Worthington Inn through its relationships with farmers and attention to the best ingredients. Excellent ingredients, artfully prepared, thank you
This is a good choice for a quiet meal, special occasion or even a business dinner. The service is good and the presentation is very attractive. The menu is varied and creative and it's a farm to table restaurant. We've gone there over the years and never had a bad experience.
Although we waited for a half hour for our drink order to be taken, our waitress bought our first round of cocktails for the long wait. After we ordered, we received our charcuterie plate and continued to wait another 45 minutes for our dinner. Although the wait was long, it was delicious.
Dinner at The Worthington Inn was a Christmas present for a dear friend. And, she loved her gift. All the food we ordered was superb. She had the short rib gnocchi; I had the filet. And, the desserts - crepes and cheesecake were exceptional also. Our server was outstanding, and the room where we were seated had a fireplace and was perfectly decorated and cozy but not too small feeling even when the tables filled. The Worthington Inn is one of my favorite places to go for special occasions, and I am already looking forward to my next visit.
My wife and I were going out for dinner and decided to give the Worthington Inn a try. We've been by it several times in the past but never stopped in. We had a very pleasant dinner in a very nice atmosphere. The service was everything we could ask for. We will be going back again.
We have dined at the Inn many times and have had always enjoyed the experience. This last time was during Restaurant Week. The service was quite slow with an odd level of disinterest. The soup was brought to the table with a thick skin across the top suggesting it was poured 10-15 minutes earlier. The food was good but did not seem up to our memories. We will wait awhile before we go back.
Despite making reservations about a month in advance, we were seated in the very chilly bar area rather than the dining room. I was disappointed to say the least. We literally had to wear our coats because the door was frequently opening and closing with temps in the single digits. We had made reservations to celebrate NYE. Service was okay. Our waitress was polite and attentive. We couldn't get over the cold though.
Went there NYE. 3 of the 4 dinners were bad. The prime rib was chewy with fat and gristle. Two of us ordered the short ribs and gnocchi. The ribs were ok but there wasn’t many of them. The gnocchi was doughy and the potatoes inside were cold. One person ordered the salmon and it was great. So 1 out of 4 had a good experience. Since it was NYE, by the time we got served we didn’t have time to send it back.
Unfortunately, my review is not good. I rarely write a review and I forgive bad service most of the time. I understand how hard servers work. However, this is the 3rd year in a row that my husband and I took our mothers to the Worthington Inn for xmas eve. All 3 years our table was not ready at the time of the reservation - 30 minute wait. Our mothers are 87 and 77 years of age and cannot sit on the bar stools nor stand for that length of time. The one coach was full of other individuals who needed to sit. The hostess was no help, just said there was nothing she could do. 2 of these years , we had to take a table in the bar to get our mothers a seat. The bar was very noisy and crowded, folks have a good time which is fine. However, both mothers have hearing issues and couldn't hear in the loud bar. This year the service was also awful. We waited for 15 minutes for a server to approach the table. Drink order took another 15 minutes to receive. We could see the drinks from our table just getting warm at the bar for most of that 15 minutes. The food was fine - nothing special but no complaints. We have chosen the Worthington Inn in the past for an appropriate experience for our elderly parents. We won't be going back again for xmas eve. We will probably go to the Refectory next year. We like the food better at the Worthington Inn but the wait issues and service issues just made the evening miserable.
