Brought my parents here who were visiting and it was such a good environment as well as great food. Highly recommend for a nice quiet meal
We celebrated a dear friend's birthday at brunch on Saturday, March 10, 2018. Everyone's meal was delicious. I had the Eggs Benedict and it was by far one of the best I have ever had. My spicy bloody Mary was perfect.
My two guests raved about their brunch entrees and alcoholic beverages.
The only downside was no nut free dessert - my friend celebrating her birthday with her husband and me could not find a complimentary dessert that was nut free. Her husband is the one with the tree nut allergy but if she its it, it can be passed on to him.
Again, our food and drinks were excellent. Elle
Revisiting an old favorite after some time away and it proved a lovely evening and terrific meal. Creative and in some cases quite inventive dishes (a honey/caramel flan with candied fennel seeds and candied orchid petal was unique, exquisite, rich yet light...the most enjoyable dessert I've had in a long time; a vegan dish--beer battered tofu stuffed with wild mushrooms--was tempting, unique, and satisfying and I'm not vegetarian; the accompaniments, eg grilled sticky rice in a kind of patty for my wife's striped bass, something I'd only seen in Japan at specialty restaurants, were done with as much care as the main feature. And, as others note, it is a charming 19th century mansion, so the large restaurant is divided into small, cozy rooms with charm, atmosphere, and quiet. Works for a romantic special occasion or for a business meal where one needs to be able to talk at one's ease.
When we arrived at 11:30 am with reservations, I was a bit worried because there wasn't another person in the entire restaurant. We were seated at a table where 2 of the seats faced a window with a brick wall outside. The rooms were very cold. There was a lovely table by the fireplace; however, we weren't offered it. Our waitress was fine, nothing terrific or exceptional. The restaurant became busier and the noise level was very unpleasant from the two large groups in two different adjoining rooms. The food is nothing great or special. Two of us had the Inn chicken salad plate. I don't think I've seen a smaller portion of chickens salad and fruit anywhere in Franklin county. I didn't care for the yogurt dressing. One of us ordered the walleye sandwich with chips. She said the fish was good, the chips too salty and the house made pickles terrible. We did see an order of the oyster Rockefeller at a nearby table that looked delicious. I doubt that we will return any time soon. We were hoping for a lovely lunch and it turned out to be quite ordinary.
I have always been disappointed that the Inn is not handicap accessible and makes no accommodations for anyone with issues with steps. The women's restroom is antiquated and completely unfriendly to anyone older than 25.
Food was exquisite. Ambience excellent in a small room with a fireplace that was lit and Created a very cozy atmosphere. Service was a bit slow and server was a bit disinterested however the food was outstanding and the overall experience was positive
Wonderful choices for brunch, my friend and I puzzled and happy with choices. Good food; excellent service; a fine way to while away the mid-day with the sun streaming in.
Fantastic food, ambiance, and service!
Outstanding food and service. Will definitely be back.
Always a great meal here, a very relaxing and wonderful time.
“Tom at the bar, is a friend of mine......”
He doesn’t get my drinks for free, but there is usually a happy hour, with half price appetizers also.
I love calamari, and coupled with the Manhattan that he shakes so fine......wow.
It was my birthday, so I splurged a bit, ordering a swordfish oscar, a great presentation of this modified favorite, ( mashed potatoes might have been a better choice than the sliced roasted potatoes) but otherwise perfectly cooked!
Working alone on the road can be tough, but the Worthington lets you escape for a bit and unwind, in this quaint town.
I have been to the Worthington Inn Brunch with my family for many years for special occasions. When I saw a silent auction item at a fund raiser for brunch for 8 people, I didnt' hesitate to bid on it and purchase. Took my friends on a Sunday afternoon and was disappointed. The waitress wasn't very interactive, unsuccessful at making small changes to menu items, inflexible and food was only fair to average. I will give it another chance but will not recommend to others.
wonderful experience a beautiful place to visit nice location
Everything was great: food, service, atmosphere. Only flaw was the Oysters Rockefeller. Small, dry, and just warmed through. Stick with locally grown produce and meats and you will do better.
Beautiful building with lovely ambiance, great food.
The food was excellent with decent choices for my vegan girl friend. Our waitress was outstanding and very helpful. We had a very romantic table by the fireplace and it was just an very enjoyable evening. It isn't cheep but you get what you pay for. Defiantly recommend for any evening dinning but special occasions are the best.
The Valentine Sparkler cocktail was delicious, while avoiding being overly sweet, despite the sugar cube in the bottom of the glass, the ginger liqueur gave it a very lovely taste. The surf and turf with béarnaise sauce was wonderful too. We enjoyed the fireplace and being able to speak to and hear each other, despite a good and lively crowd that evening.
It was our 1 year of marriage anniversary and we came back to the place where we got married. We received the exact table we sat at last year and had great service.
Chef has killed it with the Beer Battered Tofu. It was awesome and a great addition to the menu. As a vegetarian I appreciate chefs who are up to the challenge of a vegetarian meal. With this creation you are really on to something great. We also had the Harvest Vegetable Plate which is always good, but better than usual this time.
The Vanilla Creme Brûlée was amazing!
Management and Jenny took great care of us. Thank you for a wonderful anniversary dinner.
The food and service were great!
Service was alright. Food was alright. Nothing special. Probably won’t come back.
The Worthington Inn is one of my favorite places. We love the food and the charm.
Amazing location, great food, fantastic service, all makes it a classic restaurant for a fantastic meal.
First time visit and was pleasantly surprised. The food was
excellent and enjoyed the ambiance. The swordfish was superb and the bread top notch. The cheesecake was a dream. Great service and a great spot. Is a good place to dine and quiet enough to carry on a conversation. Great wine selection. Will definitely go back.
This place would have been awesome if the food didn't suck. I did not feel well at all after eating here. I did NOT have the Beef Worthington, which may have been a mistake.
The food was, as always, very good. The waffle was better than that. Because we were brunching at 1:30, the restaurant had run out of its French toast and some of its salmon offerings. Service was friendly but VERY slow.
I was a little shocked that the service was so poor. I went to Sunday brunch with my family on 2/4/18 after attending a number of functions at the worthington inn. My daughters and I attended after church. All food items (waffle, south of the border bowl, calamari app and burger) were poor except for the crab cake Benedict. Even worst was the service. Our waitstaff was flustered and confused.
From beginning to end, the food was spectacular. The Covey Rise chicken was prepped perfectly and finishing the meal with the S'Mores creme brulee was a great decision. I love the revival of Olde Worthington Inn through its relationships with farmers and attention to the best ingredients. Excellent ingredients, artfully prepared, thank you
Loved the Bloody Mary Selection! As always, The Worthington Inn never disappoints!
We went to the Worthington Inn for Restaurant week and ended up ordering off the regular menu, everything sounded so delicious! The service was great and the food was wonderful. I would definitely go back. It was also very romantic inside.
This is a good choice for a quiet meal, special occasion or even a business dinner. The service is good and the presentation is very attractive. The menu is varied and creative and it's a farm to table restaurant. We've gone there over the years and never had a bad experience.
Although we waited for a half hour for our drink order to be taken, our waitress bought our first round of cocktails for the long wait. After we ordered, we received our charcuterie plate and continued to wait another 45 minutes for our dinner. Although the wait was long, it was delicious.
It was a pleasant dining experience for the six of us seated at a round table by the fireplace.
Restaurant week. Food was prepared well and service was perfect.
We always enjoy dining at The Worthington Inn, we came this time to try the restaurant week menu. The smoked chicken was good but the swordfish meal was a little dry.
Dinner at The Worthington Inn was a Christmas present for a dear friend. And, she loved her gift. All the food we ordered was superb. She had the short rib gnocchi; I had the filet. And, the desserts - crepes and cheesecake were exceptional also. Our server was outstanding, and the room where we were seated had a fireplace and was perfectly decorated and cozy but not too small feeling even when the tables filled. The Worthington Inn is one of my favorite places to go for special occasions, and I am already looking forward to my next visit.
My wife and I were going out for dinner and decided to give the Worthington Inn a try. We've been by it several times in the past but never stopped in. We had a very pleasant dinner in a very nice atmosphere. The service was everything we could ask for. We will be going back again.
The Bread was amazing! The salad was but we didn't care for the entre'. The smoked chicken tasted like ham, the potatoes tasted like frozen dinner potatoes, the green beans were tasteless. The cheesecake was really good!
We have dined at the Inn many times and have had always enjoyed the experience. This last time was during Restaurant Week. The service was quite slow with an odd level of disinterest. The soup was brought to the table with a thick skin across the top suggesting it was poured 10-15 minutes earlier. The food was good but did not seem up to our memories. We will wait awhile before we go back.
My husband and I went for brunch to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We were placed in the fireplace room with a wonderful server. Food, service and atmosphere was perfect! Going back again soon!
“No”. “That will be an up charge to make a substitution”. We aren’t going back. Enough said?
The meal, was excellent. Our server, whom did not provide her name, was great. The time between courses was just right.
Despite making reservations about a month in advance, we were seated in the very chilly bar area rather than the dining room. I was disappointed to say the least. We literally had to wear our coats because the door was frequently opening and closing with temps in the single digits. We had made reservations to celebrate NYE. Service was okay. Our waitress was polite and attentive. We couldn't get over the cold though.
