The Wooden Nickel Restaurant & Lounge - Monroeville

Our first night out in a very long time. The restaurant did an amazing job spacing people out for their dining experience. The waitstaff was very on top of everything and made it a great experience. The food was amazing and we took desert to go because dinner was super filling! Highly recommend eating here for a night out.

The food, service, and setting was exceptional. The prices were fair and outstanding. Wooden Nickel has no peer in the area.

The food was excellent I got honey glazed salmon with pasta and a Cesar salad everything was delicious!!! My husband got Parmesan encrusted chicken with a side of pasta and green beans he loved it!! Overall a wonderful experience.

We took a chance on a Friday evening to make a reservation. Our phone app said we were confirmed for 7p, however when we arrived, no tables. Within a few minutes, we were all set up. The nicest servers, food was EXCELLENT and worth the $, AND the drive, as we came in from Butler, PA.

A wonderful place for an event, special occasion, romantic evening. AND during this covid/Christmas season, arrangements have been made so that people can enjoyable a cozy outside setting.

Will definitely return again. Thank you.

Food is always excellent. The dining room is very spacious and tables are spread out nicely even before it was necessary. Service is 5 star! Wine list is excellent. I recommend this restaurant for any occasion where you need to step it up a bit. They have been around for years but their quality has not wavered.

I ordered the Turkey dinner on Thanksgiving. The price was $25.00 per person. That did not include drinks or anything extra. You did not have a vegetable choice. The dinner came with a zucchini and squash mixture. I wish they would have offered a choice in that.
I thought the price was a little high for what was offered. I had to ask for extra gravy on the side because not enough was given with the dinner.

Had twin lobster tails with crab meat with bernaise sauce the dinner was excellent!

Party of 4 and we all had a different meal. The filet Oscar was outstanding and the only one disappointed was my husband. The flounder stuffed with crabmeat was a crab cake wrapped with a little piece of flounder. It’s a little pricey and 14 dollars for goat cheese and crackers

The food is incredible and hour hostess Sue, Chef Rad, our blonde waitress (her name is escaping me at the moment) were amazing and went above and beyond! Love this place!

Definitely a great place to dine or hangout at the bar even a romantic night out or business meeting.
Love that you can buy a bucket of corona for the kitchen. Great way show appreciation for those behind the scenes. I give this place 5 🌟

Food was not up to level of service. My wife ordered the special swordfish dish. It was rubbery and uneatable. I ordered the meatloaf. It was sandwiched between a huge mound of mashed potatoes and a very thick piece of bread. Not very appetizing. If I want all that starch I would have ordered pasta.

Unfortunately, the room was very pretty and inviting. Wish the food was as good as service and ambiance.

The food was excellent had a pork chop special that was absolutely fantastic and service was excellent as usual!

$140 Dinner, Calamari was like Rubber, Pasta was way too spicy, Shrimp still had the Tails on it, 1st drink i had was like drinking a shot with a straw. Absolutely Terrible! I will never go here again.

Our server was great. We think this is the highest quality restaurant in
Monroeville and plan to frequent more often. We like the quiet and intimate adult atmosphere. Well worth the prices charged.

It's a nice place for a special occasions, not top notch but close.

Anniversary

Love this place. Have not been there in awhile, but still met my expectations. The mixed drinks were a tad high, but still worth the experience.

This is my go-to restaurant especially during the Covid-19 crisis. There is outdoor seating on a covered back porch, surrounded by flowers and shrubbery. The service, food, ambience, and pricing are all five star!

had my first date at the Wooden Nickle and the environment was awesome! soft music, dimmed lights...etc i was an great evening.

Definitely a hidden gem in Monroeville. Never knew it was there but will definitely go back. Excellent experience, food, and waitress.

The restaurant's ambiance was very nice, it felt COVID safe, patrons were distanced. However, the food was not good and tasted undercooked. My husband ordered the twin lobsters, they appeared to have been just pulled thru the shells, no flavor, nothing. I ordered the lump crab shrimp, crab meat was terrible, could only eat a portion. We just did not like the food. The server was nice, but, not very attentive, so, definiely would not return, and we were from out of town, your restaurant was reviewed and selected based on your ad. Would not recommend to friends or family.

We dined outside and had a great meal. Service was outstanding. We will return soon. There was a noisy table but not the fault of restaurant. They are doing everything to keep themselves and patrons safe.

We celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary at the Wooden Nickel and had a wonderful experience! The service was great and the food was delicious! We were sat right in front of the fireplace for a romantic backdrop and were given a free dessert to celebrate. We left feeling so full and happy. We will be returning next week when family is in town visiting.
