1st visit to this long time staple in the Saratoga area. No complaints with any part of our dinner. The 3 course price fix is excellent value.
Always a consistent, delicious meal. Meat is of the highest grade, and always the best!
Service was excellent, as was the food. I will certainly return.
Lobster Risotto, tomato ravioli and Salmon dishes were delicious
Service is prompt, friendly and attentive
Service great. Food horrible. Got sick
Fantastic restaurant, housed in a historic farmhouse. The Wishing Well is celebrating fifty years under the same family ownership (the restaurant itself dates from the 1930s), which is a milestone in any business. The reason for its success is the outstanding food, quiet ambiance, and attentive service. The decor is devoted to the horse racing history of Saratoga Springs. I had the pork chop, which was perhaps the best I have ever eaten, while my dining companion had an outstanding beef fillet. Side dishes are creative and excellent. This deserves becoming your “go-to” restaurant in the Saratoga Springs area.
First time here, though grew up in the area. NOt sure why I waited so long! Made a reservation online with Open Table. Dinner was to celebrate my mom's birthday. Waitress was knowledgeable on the wines and made great suggestions. Service was attentive w/o being too much. Bread was delicious, especially the corn bread. Salad was just right and cold bib lettuce. Lobster bisque was wonderful. Dinner choices included calves liver (told it was amazing), and 2 specials: beef short ribs and halibut piccata dish. My mother worried about messy pasta, so the waitress suggested the fish served over risotto. Great idea. The beef short ribs special was served as a combo of grilled short rib (delicious grilled flavor and tender) and braised short rib (which fell apart, so amazing). The wines were fabulous. Dessert was offered, but we had cake back at the house, so declined. The waitress brought dark chocolate truffles as a parting birthday wish. Absolutely will be back. What a great experience. Dinner for 4, with beverages came to $210. They also offer a 3 course price fixed menu for $29 that offered great choices including salmon, steak, etc. Overall menu had a wide variety including prime rib, filet mignon, short ribs (pork - the beef ones were a special that night), salmon, lobster, chicken parm., and other choices. Something for everyone.
The Wishing Well never disappoints! We have always enjoyed the food. We decided to bring our two children, who are 2 and 3 years old. Needless to say, we were nervous to bring toddlers to such a nice restaurant. But our waitress, Nancy, went well above and beyond to make sure our little ones were entertained and happy throughout the evening. She really made it such a pleasant dining experience for all of us!
All my guests enjoyed the quality food and ambiance. Great place
Everything was excellent!
The food was delicious as well as well-prepared, and presented.
The service was friendly, helpful, and timely.
The ambiance was warm and relaxing.
Outstanding, as always.
Easter Sunday dinner
Service is always excellent. Food is very good. Reservation system is excellent.
The Wishing Well Restaurant was for some years a mid-way meeting point for scattered family on a tight calendar, so that we could enjoy Thanksgiving dinner together. Half that family crew are gone now, but I cheerfully drove three hours to Saratoga Road from Vermont just to share April 1 Easter Sunday dinner with my New York brother this past weekend, and then drive back. Well worth the trip, for the pleasure of the meal and company in a venue with a special feel. The Wishing Well Restaurant offers outstanding holiday-specific dinner menus, as well as having fine regular menus, offers elegant presentation and balanced portions of very very good food, with outstanding friendly yet gracious and attentive service. We'll do it again.
Went to Wishing Well on Easter Sunday. There was a special holiday menu but it had a variety of selections. Food was excellent.
Anne is the best! She greeted us immediately when we were taken to our table. She engaged in friendly conversation. She made suggestions about the menu choices. She complimented my date and I. We had an amazing experience. The hostess was friendly and accommodating when My date and I decided to have a drink at the bar before taking our seats. The food was phenomenal. We both had the filet. Absolutely delicious. We indulged in the skillet chocolate chip cookie a la mode dessert. It was decedent. Overall an excellent dining experience. Thank you for making our date night a night to remember.
Always one of my favorite restaurants in the Saratoga area
Food was outstanding, my Manhattan was quite good, and our server, Annie, was not only professional but very friendly. First time there and we will go back.
we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the service was impeccable. We will absolutely be dining there again.
A wonderful restaurant!!! Escargot are great - our go to place for any occasion
Went there for a birthday dinner. It is now one of my favorite places
We were celebrating "life" with good friends and this was the perfect spot to do so. The staff were very accommodating with our request for a quiet spot with a round table to enhance conversation which was important as my friend recently had brain surgery and lost the hearing in one ear. Our waitress was THE best, the food outstanding, and the atmosphere perfect. Thank you to "The Well" for making our evening with friends most enjoyable!!
50 day aged tomahawk. Awesome
Drop the 🎤
Lobster was dried out and steak fatty. Nothing special.
We had a date-night dinner at The Wishing Well this past Saturday.
Service was great. The waitress was wonderful, providing excellent, prompt service while avoiding the uncomfortable "hovering" that can sometimes accompany such attentive service. The owner also came to our table several times throughout the meal, taking the time to briefly explain the long history of his family's ownership of the restaurant, and to make sure everything was to our liking. He also came to deliver cheese to compliment the bottle of wine we had ordered, a very thoughtful touch.
The food was also fantastic. We both had prime rib which was cooked and seasoned perfectly, but even more memorable was the lobster bisque, with a splash of sherry added tableside. Rich and delicious beyond words. While bread service is often boring, their bread (especially the cornbread) was truly standout.
In short, the food was delicious and the entire staff was exceptionally warm and gracious. We will be back soon.
My husband and enjoyed our Valentine's weekend date at the Wishing Well good was delicious as always , excellent service
We all had different dishes and appetizers but the Lobster Bisque was a big hit with the table. The dishes all came out hot and appetizing. None of our party can wait to go back again for another night at the Wishing Well!
Wonderful evening. Great restaurant. Will return in may for birthday Thank you
Excellent ambience. High-quality entrees. Fast service. Experienced server willing to give opinions on orders. Will come back again.
We have been coming here for years, usually on a Friday night there is someone playing the piano but not last Friday. The place was practically empty which is also unusual. Our server was very good but the food was terrible. They had a very limited menu, in the past there were many more selections. I don’t know if it’s new ownership or a new chef, but I was very disappointed.
We had an amazing experience here for pur first visit. Staff and food were both outstanding!
Very quaint and cozy! Great food and very reasonably priced. They were all very very friendly and personable. Staff and service was great. Will definitely return when in town!
Excellent meal once again! Super service!
Went for Valentine's Day with another couple and had one of the best meals in town!
Can't wait to return!
We have been coming to The Wishing Well for years. It's the perfect place for a special occasion or a dinner out with spouse and/or family. Delicious food, excellent service, great ambiance and very friendly and welcoming owners and staff.
Chose this restaurant for a Valentine's dinner with my wife. Food was excellent and the service was friendly and efficient. We will be back for sure.
Birthday dinner based on reviews on line and came away feeling little disappointed. My entree was prepared very well, bread pudding served alongside little flavor and would be better to have some fresh vegs. My husband's entree requested medium rare and served over medium, very crusty and charred. Waitstaff very friendly and accommodating. Would recommend especially with updates to the menu.
We enjoyed the ambiance and the wait-staff / service was very good.
However, the steak that we received was overcooked and chard after ordering medium-well.
Very nice... good food choices. Friendly, happy wait staff, nice piano music.... loved it.
Relaxing environment.......................friendly staff...........
