The Winery Restaurant
Steve Thoms acquired the restaurant in late June of 2004 after taking a couple of years off from his previous restaurant. His mission at he Winery is simple: Show the restaurant and its patrons the attention that they deserve. Use only top quality ingredients, and establish The Winery as the premiere restaurant in the Grand Junction area.
The Winery provides a variety of steaks, chicken, pork and fresh seafood specials nightly in an atmosphere that can not be rivaled anywhere!

Excellent meal! The wait staff was so helpful in pairing wine with our meal! Also very knowledgeable about specific wines chosen. Overall it was a great night out...we will be back l!
The food and service were outstanding. I highly recommend.
Great wine, food was amazing.
Great ambiance, amazing wine selection, and yummy food.
Excellent service. Close quarters so noise level was a bit high. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal, especially the Palisade desert! Will definitely be back!
Was good but there was a big spider lol it happens. I think was pricey but enjoyed it
I love The Winery and have been going for years but will no longer support them. The last time I went the service was subpar and my friend and I felt very much ignored by the server and the owner who checked on every single table except ours. We had a miscommunication with the waiter and spoke to the owner about it and his responses were not only outright rude and disrespectful but almost condescending and mocking. He literally laughed and shook his head at one point. I've received better responses from managers and owners at fast food establishments but to pay $70+ for a meal then be talked down to was upsetting. I literally cried.
I have no idea why my date and I were ignored or treated so badly but I can no longer recommend The Winery to anyone else and don't wish anyone to have to treated like we were.
Good food and drinks. Staff very friendly to us out of towners.
What an AMAZING Anniversary dinner! The owner, Hostess and our Waiter, Noland provided exemplary customer service ...Yummmmm -the lamb chops and beef tenderloin were “melt in your mouth “ delicious-wine fantastic and scallops superb. Thank you to The Winery team for a positively memorable celebration 🍾
Beautiful setting. Good choices on wine list. The ingredients in the seasonal salad were fresh and tastefully blended. The shrimp Alexander portion was generous, cooked perfectly and the beure blanc sauce was flavorful without being heavy. Just delicious. Seasonal vegetables with the shrimp were crisp and tasty. If the chocolate mousse is on the menu get it! So much flavor but not heavy. Everything is served on beautiful pottery. Great touch.
Excellent food Mckayla was great!Sat on the patio and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Fantastic ambiance, service and food. The ivy walls, beams and gaslights out front make the entrance special.
Food was mediocre. Caesar salad was way over dressed. Couldn’t eat it. The scallops were cold. The three cheese scalloped potatoes were so overpowered with blue cheese that it was sickening. The creme brûlée was excellent. The cocktails(pomegranate martini) were also great. The decor and dishes reminded me of a old steakhouse in the seventies. Place needs to be updated.
The appetizer, salads, steak, and dessert were excellent. The service was also excellent.
Best restaurant in GJ. It's like going back in time in a good way. Amazing food and service. My only "complaint" is that while there were several options for alcoholic beverages, I was surprised they didn't offer a fancy non-alcoholic drink for those of us that don't partake. Amazing dinner overall!
Great place for a special dinner😍. We loved it, food, ambiance and service.
Portions were small for the price. Very good food though.
Service was outstanding! This was the best meal we've had since the re-opening after COVID-19. Our server was amazing in every way. We loved the food and even stayed for dessert. Both of us had steak, which is highly recommended here. Enjoy!
We dined out with no idea what we we were looking for and chose The Winery out of habit and are glad we did. We were not feeling like steak or anything else for that matter but the shrimp alexandria seemed new on the menu and worth a try. The shrimp along with the white cheddar mac n cheese along with the suggested wine pairing were perfect. We found a new Riesling and a new dish. Glad we chose this place.
The staff were very good and definitely our satisfaction was a priority. I would say we got new respect for an old favorite.
Genuinely one of the best meals I've ever had. Beautiful ambiance and excellent service. It's very pricey, but worth it for special occasions!
Excellent visit. Service and food was great. Atmosphere perfect.
Thanks to everyone involved
We were here for our anniversary dinner. The customer service was really nice and staff was friendly, but I felt as though the price of the food did not reflect the quality. Don’t get me wrong, it was yummy, but the $72 Lobster tail tasted like any other Lobster I’ve ever had. There was also an incident at the end of the night where a waiter did not realize we were still in the restaurant and was loudly cursing and talking politics with another person across from us. When he realized we were there he immediately apologized and brought us a round of drinks which was sweet, but it was a very awkward interaction and he came back to our table multiple times to apologize and ask if we had forgiven him. Overall it just made us feel awkward. I had a nice night, but not sure I’d choose this place a second time.
First of all Curtis was amazing! We loved him. The food was the best we’ve had in a long time and the patio was the perfect ambience. Great find in Grand Junction. Will comeback every year on our annual trip.
This was our third visit in three years as we enjoy it so much and haven’t been disappointed yet. Looking forward to next year.
Excellent atmosphere & service! Entrees were delicious and presented very artistically.
The 3 bottles of Colterris wine was the highlight along with our guests!
Curtis was awesome and very attentive. We have recommended your restaurant to our friends in Evergreen!
The Winery is our go-to place for special occasions. We were celebrating my husband's 90th birthday, so that definitely qualifies as a "special occasion". The hostess, all the servers were simply delightful, charming young people. They all did everything to make our evening super; the food was wonderfully delicious and the wine perfect too. We dined on the patio and the Old World atmosphere out there is charing. Delightful evening.
The meal, service and restaurant were outstanding in every sense. I would highly recommend The Winery for any occasion.
My favorite restaurant in Grand Junction, I've always chosen to eat outside in nice weather. Great ambiance, and the service is great. Good food all round, and often interesting specials.
The restaurant is the place to go in Grand Junction for those special occasions but the food was not exceptional this time. Salad was only semi-fresh and bernaise sauce wasn’t very good. Service was attentive and thoughtful and the steak was fine.
This was a wonderful stop on our visit to Grand Junction. Food was incredible and atmosphere on the outside patio was quaint. I would recommend this place to anyone. We will be back! And the wine pairing with the lamb was perfect.
the kind of place to celebrate with good food, atmosphere, good service.
Live in Chicago and this by far out does many of our restaurants. Excellent all around and the MOST EFFICIENT and NICEST staff anywhere!!
Ownership was very personable. Chef came out to meet us. Every little detail was perfect
Always a great experience with great food! The service is amazing. My wife had a filet special and I had a ribeye. At the end of our meal the busser was going to box up our left overs and accidentally dropped them in the kitchen. The young man felt bad and apologized. Really no big deal. Without even coming to us, the owner immediately had an entire filet special being prepared for us to take home. An entire meal! Absolutely not necessary but very appreciated by us and our son at home.😁 The entire staff always does an amazing job!
This is the most special restaurant in Grand Junction. Do it is great for celebrations.
This is the finest restaurant in the valley. They go out of their way to make it special. The owner has brought this restaurant up the best level it has ever been.
This is a beautiful, grown up restaurant. It is pricey, so be prepared, but the food is delicious and the service excellent.
Outstanding service and food. Went for a birthday dinner and The Winery is now a goto spot.
Loved the peach martinis! And of course the entrees
Peach Martini was fantastic as well as the Palisade Chocolate Dessert. My filet mignon steak was so tender I could cut it with a fork. Thank you so much for making our wedding anniversary special.
