We never had any food - a great chance to taste and pick up our wines
As always Katrina and the gang took good care of South Okanagan E Bike Safaris guests very well and looked after the wine till I could collect.
The wines were very good and the host was very kind! The view was lacking some "Oumf!" but still great.
Great Service, Great Food and fabulous setting! Loved that we could enjoy our food with a wine tasting
Amazing wine tasting and lunch. The flatbread and other foods were so good! Loved the picturesque setting and wonderful host for our table, Marie!
The wines are great, but this visit our server was very average. I’ve been to Black Hills before and had excellent service. I’ll still be back.
Nice setting. Flatbreads tasty. Pretty good service
Black Hills is well known for their wines. They should be as well known for their food.... especially their charcuterie platter. And their peach and prosciutto flatbread. I’ve tried many but this one really stands out! I highly recommend it!!
Was a bit disappointed with the wine tasting People were very nice but focus seemed to be on quantity not so much quality.
Limited menu. The charcuterie platter was somewhat skimpy. Tiny pieces of cheese. Some good bread needed.
We had to ask someone to take our food order after waiting for more than a reasonable time.
I actually love Black Hills and have been there many times. However, this time we were seated next to the dusty, noisy road which I didn’t even know existed. However, the table next to us was so disruptive we asked to be moved and we’re quickly moved, a big thank you. The charcuterie just has too much relishes, not enough cheeses and crackers. We’ve ordered it before but will not again. Tasting was lovely.
Beautiful winery and the service was outstanding. Excellent wine, good food, and the ambiance was perfect. Jennifer was very knowledgeable and was very friendly. Highly recommend the winery and Jennifer as your server.
Great as always!
Lovely setting and the pizza was very tasty. Fabulous way to spend some time tasting on their patio
It was a great tasting experience and the food we ate there surpassed everyone's expectations. The flatbreads were delicious and perfect to pair with the wines. The outdoor space is amazing and very relaxed.
The wines were superb too!
It was great and we would suggest shade screens/curtains on the cabanas. Sun and heat is a concern...
Wonderful sommeliers and great charcuterie board! Our third time visiting and Black Hills never disappoints!
They were very accommodating, we called to say we would be late and they changed the time for us. Also we were sat in the members section by the pool which was beautiful, as they did not want us to sit in our assigned table in the full sun. The staff at the counters were very friendly and welcoming as well.
I had a wonderful time on my first visit to Black Hills. Jennifer, our hostess, was fun, knowledgeable, never too far away but not hovering. The wines were amazing, good pours so you really got a chance to taste them, the flats breads we tried were fantastic. Can’t wait to be back!
Vacation get away
Love this place!
Charcuterie and flatbread paired with wine tasting. Fantastic!
Black Hills was a very pleasant experience, the hospitality was lovely, the ambiance was beautiful, the wines were delicious and the food was fantastic. Thank you so much.
Felt rushed, they wouldn't let us order food as they closed early for an employee function. Wine tasting employee was a bit rude to another customer. Overall we felt the experience was the worst in our three days winery tour.
This restaurant is outstanding. I only gave it a mediocre overall review because we had a 4:30 reservation (made several days in advance through Open Table) however it closes at 5pm so we felt very rushed. They weren’t even sure the kitchen was still serving food. My advice would be for them not to accept reservations any later than 4pm.
Lunch with friends. Great views from the patio. Lots of great food and wine.
We went to black hills for wine tasting. When we arrived at our table all 4 of our wines were already poured for us. No on came to our table to speak to the wines for the first 20 minutes. When we were already finished the 2 white wines someone apologetically came to our table to speak to the wines. The pizza we had was excellent. Nice ambience and view on outside patio even though it was quite windy.
It was an amazing day and experience. Very relaxing and staff were very nice and knowledgeable. Love all the wines!!
Great spot to enjoy fabulous wines, Gord was outstanding in his wine presentation to us! We will be back.
Loved everything about our experience and we signed up for the wine club
There was 4 of us we had two charcuterie boards and tried many wines . Gord our host was very knowledgable and spot on with his observations. We will be back and I have already recommended the location to friends.
Excellent! This is why we always book here when we have out of town guests. Thank you always a great experience.
Great service. Beautiful view. Definitely my favorite winery.
We made two reservations for six people each with a baby and everything went badly.
1. Four of us arrived early and when I told them we were part of thee 5:00 reservation, your senior lady server freaked out. Not welcoming at all. Finally I said just seat the four of us and we ordered a chacuterie platter which was good.
2. When the rest of our group of 12 arrived also before 5:00, we were not allowed to push our two tables together.
3. There was no baby chair and when we brought our own baby chair, your senior lady server wanted us to move it.
4. When one of us tried to take the baby down to the pool, the senior server told us we could not go by the pool.
5. The salad with squash and liver paste was uneatable.
6. Before 5:00 o'clock came, we were told the kitchen closes at 5:00 so we would have to order. This made no sense to anyone because our reservation was for 5:00. Why on earth would you take a reservation for 12 people plus a baby for 5:00 if the kitchen closed at 5:00?
7. One younger lady was very pleasant and did her best to make us feel welcome.
8. Overall, very bad experience.
We had such a wonderful experience; the wine, food, and service were amazing!
Terrific setting for pleasant lunch. Burrowing Owl is set up high with grand view so prefer that spot. If choosing between the two, go for BO. Larger menu (although pricier) with better view.
The pizza was very nice as was the peach salad. Neither was a big portion but sufficient to accompany the wine tasting. The service was however not welcoming and quite uncomfortable. Our server Gord was good but the lady who was meant to welcome us upon arrival was far from welcoming as was another older female server who almost scowled at us when we were paying our bill at the cash. She seemed unimpressed that we were not buying more than one bottle of wine.
Strongly recommend that you go next door to Platinum Bench for outstanding bread and very pleasant service.
We found the choice of wine tasting options overly complex. The discussion of tasting deals and size of servings spoiled any relaxed atmosphere, making it feel more like a business transaction.
A Winery tasting session with a difference. Prepare to sit and relax, not your normal stand at the counter and enjoy the 1/4 ounce you are poured. Full 3 oz pours with knowledgeable commentary by your tables host. Great tapas to order to compliment your experience.
Worth the visit over and over again.
We had a great time on Wednesday... We appreciated how our wine evangelists knowledge and how he added his own personal touch.
Great wine, great food and great staff.
Although we had reservations they were not prepared. Table was not ready. Initial hostess made us feel like they were doing us a favour by letting us try their wine.
Server was knowledgeable and friendly but initial encounter tainted whole experience.
We went to this vineyard as has been fabulous in the past. Will probably not go back. Lost customer.
