The Wine Bistro - Worthington Ratings and Reviews
Super friendly staff! We accidentally stayed a few minutes past close and they were more than gracious about it. They even packaged up a dessert to go for us. Our waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu and went out of his way to make sure we were taken care of. 10/10, would recommend!
We enjoyed our visit as usual - it's one of our favorite easy spots to relax and enjoy reliably great food & service, in a smart casual atmosphere. The short ribs were everything I had hoped they'd be - tender and delicious. The creme brulee was excellent too- so happy they have it on the menu. We ordered a flatbread with the gluten free crust, and while I'm glad they offer a gluten-free option, they used to have a better, thinner gluten-free crust that I preferred.
The atmosphere was very nice. I liked the wines displayed for sale surrounding the restaurant. However, 3 out of 4 in our party ordered the Salmon. In every case it was way overcooked. One of us ordered the Beef Stroganoff and it came out cold, which had to be sent back and warmed up. The quality of food was very good, but the chef was off the mark on cooking. We also ordered a cheese plate before dinner and it was excellent.
The overall experience was okay. This is not a place I would recommend for a nice dinner. The food was good, nothing special. It wasn’t bad, but I expected more for the price. They had an okay wine selection, but nothing close to what they should have had for calling themselves a wine bistro. Our server was terrible; she was inattentive and rather rude. This was most likely because over half our party were not wine drinkers and only ordered their meal. If you are looking for somewhere with a mediocre wine selection and mediocre food then this would be the place for you.
The restaurant week deal was a terrific value. But the food was so good that we’ll definitely go back any time of the year! The veal meatball was incredible, and we also quite enjoyed the beef short ribs and lobster/shrimp fettuccine. Obviously an extensive wine selection, and a solid handful of craft beers too (cans/bottles).
The food was good but the temperatures were very inconsistent. For example, we each ordered an appetizer and was mine was fine, my partners soup was barely lukewarm. Similar experience with the main course: my meals temperature was ok while his was again lukewarm. It was disappointing because I suspect the food quality was there if only the temperatures had been on point.
Had a great meal at The Wine Bistro for NYE. Good menu for sharing and would definitely recommend getting the Mediterranean popcorn and the Juliette flatbread. The best part of the meal was our server Adrian who was fun and attentive but didn’t intrude. Would recommend and will be back.
We went on New Years Eve and this understandably was a busy night. However, everyone who waited on us were sure to tell us how busy and overwhelming the night was. Though the restaurant did not feel busy at all. The tables were full, but there was not a wait, and it was not loud or frantic. We sat at our table for about 5 minutes before being offered drinks. We chose water and to wait for our friends to order wine. Our friends arrived a few minutes later, but we waited 20 minutes after they arrived for anyone to come back and get our order. Another 15 went by before we got our wine (from someone other than our waitress), and another 5-10 minutes went by until she took our dinner order. We waited at least 40 minutes for our food. The waitress had checked after we ordered about onions on my friends salad. She originally had ordered no onions and confirmed no onions and then was served a salad with onions and the wrong dressing. Of our 3 hot plates, 1 was hot. The other two were cold and had clearly say for awhile. We were given one bill at the end for the four of us and the waitress offered to split it up but she would have to find someone who knew how. We chose not to wait and just sort it out later. We arrived at the restaurant at 645 and did not leave until 915. It was not enjoyable night and the food was not worth the cost whatsoever. We won’t be back.
Had not specifically visited the North High Street location but others in the area. Loved this spot... Quiet, darkly-lit, cozy space - Great for friends get-togethers, small groups or business dinners in their lovely special dining room space. Great menu & lots of advice from the staff on tastings and pairings.. Loved it
The server did not bring our soup or salad. He never gave us refills or asked us if we wanted more drinks. We had to ask another server for our bill because our waiter was nowhere to be found. It was my first time there. Awful service for what was only decent food, will not return.
Very nice selection of wines, sold at retail Mondays and Tuesday, and with a modest corkage other days. The manager really knows wines and helped us make a great selection; their wait staff is also quite helpful. Nice selection of small plates, a few regular dishes, and great bread pudding
Excellent restaurant with innovative cuisine. The 3 types of fondue presented in individual bowls was outstanding. Generous portions and high quality ingredients. Extensive wine list and reasonably priced.
Décor was cozy and relaxing, comfortable seats and good lighting.
Definitely will go back.
Our Sunday lunch was fantastic. We brought our elderly parents from FLORIDA to the WINE BISTRO as we knew the food would be good and the patio would be the perfect place. We were the only ones eating out there! our waiter took such good care of us. They were impressed with the chicken salad and the service. We really enjoyed ourselves. Thank you!
