The Wine Bar
The wine list, created by sommelier and owner
Melissa Evans, is a representation of grape varietals, which excel in each wine producing region. The wine list changes frequently and showcases many esoteric and family-owned wineries.
Our menu is a selection of small plates, entrees,
fine cheeses and home-made desserts. We use only the freshest, highest quality ingredients including organic and free-range meats. It is our hope that you choose several items and enjoy the experience of different flavors while sipping one wine or several “tastes” of wines.
The food was great when it finally came. Our reservation was for 7:15pm but we never received our food until 9:30pm. Honestly by then we just wanted to leave! Luckily the food was good.
Delicious food, but the kitchen was very slow.
Our first time there. Service was great, good was fantastic! Our only complaint was there was a ceiling air vent that was a little cool. Would like to sit next to the fireplace next time. Can’t wait to go back!
Food was very good. My companions appreciated the small plate options. It was long wait for our food to arrive though. Since one of our party had hearing loss the low noise level was appreciated.
Had an excellent valentines day experience at the Wine Bar. Food was excellent, waitress let us sample some different blends and my girlfriend was handed a rose as a parting gift. Will recommend to family and friends. Thank you
Everything was excellent! And the chef made us ketchup and whipped cream! Thank You Chef!!!!!!!
Liz was an fantastic and attentive server. She definitely made the experience what it was- the wine selection was extensive and delicious and the food was to die for. We look forward to coming back and dining with Liz at the Wine Bar
Our favorite in Saratoga. This time was special anniversary.
The food was fabulous, great wine list. Our server, Terri, was top shelf.
Was the first table in the restaurant and the last to get served. Waited 30 minutes for a glass of wine. Waitress seemed to favor the “regulars”. Wine was good when we finally got some. Food is overpriced and small portions. Grilled octopus had a very odd flavor.
Food was excellent - service outstanding the atmosphere is low key and very comforting
the restaurant itself is clean and centrally located
Nice ambiance. Cigar room which doesn’t affect dining area.
Chef Colose is in full creative stride. Saratoga offers many excellent dining choices. The Wine Bar never disappoints.
Waitress was rushing us. We ordered a cheese plate and she basically asked us to order more food or leave. She also made fun of us. Very insulting.
Ok place to get a drink but would not recommend dinner here. Food did not live up to expectations set by reviews. Seemed hit or miss depending on what you ordered. Just an aside, the background music could really be more refined. Having Ariana Grande blasting at full volume in the speakers of your smoking room and bar feels incongruous to the elegant interior. Good wines here, though!
Highly recommend this place. Great food and wine.
Excellent wine selection. Food was delicious but a bit overpriced. Had a very hyper waitress who kept telling us how good she was. Got a little annoying.
We went to celebrate a birthday, which we did not get a chance to, due to service taking to long and we had to get to a show by a certain time. We were told some of the food and drink we wanted to order was no longer available for the evening. the meals were incredibly small for the cost.
Everything was fantastic, amazing food, wine and service!
We had very strange service. The server was all over us in the beginning, too much actually. After she dropped our food, we didn't see her again until it was time for the check. Filet Mignon was excellent but the potatoes were cold. Perhaps the issues we had related to sitting in the downstairs part of the restaurant. Maybe the kitchen and servers can't keep up when they open that room. It had been a long time since I went there. I will certainly go back. The issues were not a deal breaker for me and the steak was delicious.
Wonderful place. Excellent good. Noise level very high but it is a wine bar, to be expected!
We ate at The Wine Bar on Friday night of Labor Day Weekend 2018, the final week of the Saratoga flat track season. The wine selection is outstanding and the Scotch selection is respectable. I had the scallops, my better half had the salmon, and our married friends both had the chicken. My scallops were awesome and the salmon was excellent. Our friends weren't pleased with their chicken, however, but I did not try it so I can't comment on how good it was. The waitress was a young, very attentive and diplomatically respectful girl who was always there when we needed her, yet was not overbearing or intrusive. The staff is clearly well-trained. The pianist was very talented, and her singing demonstrated what a great pianist she was. We enjoyed her performance and she also seemed to enjoy performing. The decor is very nice both upstairs and down. Prices were not totally unreasonable, and overall we had a very nice time.
Recommend for wine and cheese only.
Additional staff training needed. Our waitress did not ask us to taste the wine and recorked our red wine after filling our glasses.
Our meals and wine we're great. The noise level was high due to a large group. To be expected during track season.
I had been to this restaurant several years ago and remembered the food as being excellent. My memory is good--it was as fabulous as I remembered. And the wine, as you would expect since it is called the wine bar, was equally as good. However, it is also a cigar bar and although the cigar area is away from the dining area, when we first arrived the ventilation system didn't seem to be working properly and the smell was a bit overwhelming. Once the system was turned on properly that odor dissipated and only once did I smell cigar smoke again during our meal.
We went early, before it gets noisy, and had a delicious meal, with very good, but somewhat disinterested service. We had not been there in years, partly because of the noise, and partly because of the smoking lounge adjacent to the dining area and bar. We thought it was gone, but we were wrong, although luckily nobody was smoking. They say it has a "state of the art" ventilation system, but I'd rather eat where there are no smokers. So despite a very nice experience, we'll have to think about whether to go back.
Love this place! It is truly unique. Imaginative, delicious food,, quiet elegant atmosphere, service that is efficient,.All in all the recipe for a delightful meal!
Great place! Had lots of fun. Awesome piano player😀
We always enjoy! Good people watching looking down on Broadway. Great food & drink.
Our server was Terry. She was one of the best servers we've ever had. She was very knowledgeable of the wine list and menu. She was personable and talked to us like we were old friends. She was over awesome. Our food and wine were delicious. Definitely will be going back.
Was initially skeptical because yelp reviews over past six months have been awful. But was pleasantly surprised with this place. Will be back for sure!
We were seated by a nice hostess but then waited 20 minutes for someone to come to the table to offer us water. We waited another 10 minutes to be able to order a drink and were rushed into ordering our food at the same time because even though we waited, it wasn’t like we had a brain tumor was how our waitress compared our experience. The food was excellent, but when we finished, we waited for a long time with the dirty plates and then waited 30 minutes for the bill. This time the waitress compared our wait to having chemotherapy, meaning that it could be worse. All in all, outside of the food, it was pretty bad.
Staff was friendly. Server was very attentive and bartender was quick. Food was great as always.
Sadly, this was one of the worst meals I’ve ever had. The service was terrible. Our reservation was at 715. Our food did not arrive until almost 9. One of the dishes was incorrect and had to be sent back. I asked to speak to a manager and was informed the manager was not working tonight, a Sunday night, during the busiest time of the year in Saratoga. Incredibly disappointing. We will not be coming back.
friendly staff . Food was great .
We met the owner the second night there and she was very friendly
We found this place by accident and loved it.
I dine here every time I visit Saratoga Springs. Excellent food, wait staff, and wine. The ambience is relaxed and enhances the dining experience. Visited on 7/18/18 with a friend and Terry/Terri, our waitress, was great. Extremely knowledgeable about the menu and her suggestions were spot on. She suggested a number of dishes and I had 3 of them: the heirloom tomato salad, the Diver Scallops, and the Stracciatella gelato. All were fabulous; the Diver Scallops with Jonah crab and corn risotto, chanterelle mushrooms, and chive oil was phenomenal. Terry/Terri also recommended a dry Rose as the glass of Rose on the wine list was sweet, which I don't care for. What she suggested was excellent and the same price as the sweeter Rose listed on the menu. My friend had the Gazpacho, Salmon, and Fresh Berries. She also was very pleased with her meal and enjoyed everything ordered.
There is an outside patio and although I've never sat there, it looks lovely and on a nice night I'm sure it would be a great place to dine (no reservations are taken for the patio) and people watch.
Highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to dining there again during my next visit to Saratoga Springs.
Terri took great care of us. She knew the menu and wine list perfectly and made excellent recommendations. Would definitely go back.
Food is great, wine selection is eclectic and the service is on point. Doesn’t get much better.
Super appetizer selection, fantastic entrees, wonderful desserts... superior wine selections.
