The honesty and quality of food is very much our focus, with an emphasis on imaginative, modern British cooking, using fresh produce sourced by local suppliers. Our menus change monthly to reflect this. Our signature dishes include 6 hour braised beef ribs for two to share, and our bun & cheek - ox cheek braised in Worcestershire sauce, served in a brioche bun with hand cut chips and dipping gravy.
Drinks also celebrate in our entrepreneurial spirit, with 14 draught beers and ciders, and 5 changing guest ales, with a focus on London cask producers. Highlights from our wine list include Gamay "Thirst" with a vibrant pink hue, yet striking strawberry and cranberry aromas, or the Gifford’s Hall Bacchus Vintage, from Suffolk, England, a Riesling/Sylvaner cross. This variety has a distinctive aromatic, slightly flinty quality though each season brings its own individuality.
This is our go to venue for family celebrations....always good!
Staff were very good accommodating our extra guest
Been a few times now and Wilmington was as good as usual with excellent Sunday Roast (rib for 6). Really enjoyable relaxed aftrnoon
Perfect for lunch.
Lovely Sunday lunch. Very nice pub with a good selection of beers on tap. Also outdoor seating for warmer days.
Nice pub, pleasant and attentive staff and good food. Enjoyable Sunday lunch.
Excellent food and service.
Beef rib was absolutely delicious!
We had a very good dinner and the staff was very kind. It was a very nice evening
Really lovely and helpful staff, great food, quick service.
delicious food, nice atmosphere and great service!
Food was good, but not so well served.
Starters were very nice, and so was dessert.
Amazing lamb roast. Lovely service. I'll definitely be back.
Highly reccomend a great central London find for myself and my girlfriend. Will return regularly
Probably my favourite London pub. Great food, service and atmosphere.
Food was great, as always, but the service was fairly poor. Our table was placed in the main pub area instead of the dining room and it felt like we were forgotten about. Drinks orders were missed, we had to remind the waiter about other items of food that we had ordered and the wait for our dessert order was far too long. Would go back for the food though which was excellent.
Great food, wonderful atmosphere! We’ll be back
Tasty food, warm atmosphere, excellent waiter, Daniel, and good value. If you’re going Sadler’s Wells and can show a ticket you get a discount as well! Definitely will go again.
We always eat at The Wilmington when we go to Sadler's Wells, which is several times a year. Saturday's meals were as fantastic as always. Well done on everything you do
Fabulous Sunday roast with great service from friendly staff
Been going here for years. Never had a bad meal or bad service. They're always so tentative to your needs. Service, food and drinks is always spot on. Well done.
Great friendly staff, good food and booze selection. All served up with a heavy dollop of ambience.
Good food, nice dining room, great service. We'd recommend to a friend. Good location near Exmouth Market.
This was a perfect place to eat before going to Saddlers Wells. An interesting menu with some different choices. Our party of 4 all had good meals. Only gripe was that the side order of rosemary chips was very small, as soon as I mentioned this, a second portion was provided and I'm so glad they were because these chips were incredibly good.
Poor service. Got drinks and order wrong. Burger was greasy, not gastro standard. Didn’t come back to ask how the food was or take order for dessert.
Really noisy, photos looked more like the restaurant part was more separated.
Lovely roast dinner as always
We had a pre-theatre dinner here and it was excellent. Would highly recommend them.
We had an early meal and drinks before going to the ballet. We sat inside as it was a rare boiling hot day. Food and drinks were good and there was something on the menu for everyone in the group. What really stood out were the staff, very friendly and welcoming and on the ball. Definitely worth the five minute walk if you are going to Sadler’s Wells.
We chose the Wilmington due to it's proximity to Sadlers Wells and the interesting menu for a pre matinee lunch.
We were not disappointed on any count and it was quieter and cooler than many other similar establishments in the area. Hospitality was excellent from all the staff we encountered and the food was delicious and perfectly suited our requirements.
We would certainly recommend The Wilmington to anyone requiring food or drink in that area of London.
Nice dining area and good food . Staff v friendly and characterful
Lovely food. Quick service and very attentive. Place was quiet but we were early. Overall great. Will be back very soon.
great gastro pub close to Farringon/kings cross. Nice atmosphere and delicious fish!
An excellent gatropub in a fantastic Clerkenwell location close to Sadlers Wells. The menu choices are wide and imaginative and the dishes do not disappoint. The dining room is spacious yet cosy and intimate with tasteful wood tones and upholstered booths. Staff are friendly, attentive, courteous and knowledgeable, service quick and efficient. What's not to like?
Love this pub... it’s my favourite Sunday lunch spot. I head here at any opportunity.
We went to eat before going to Saddlers Wells. The staff were absolutely charming - food and drinks arrived quickly and were both great. And it was excellent value and a short walk to the theatre. We will definitely go again.
We always come here before or after we've been to a show at Sadlers Wells. Usually the food is the highlight for me, because it is delicious, but this time it wasn't just the food but the staff too. We were served by three different people at various points and they were all really friendly and really lovely.
the sticky toffee pudding was on point.
We booked beforehand for a Saturday lunchtime but there were a number of free tables. There were some unusual items on the menu and we both had Pig cheeks ragu with pasta. It was delicious! After my daughter had sticky toffee pudding which was unctuous and I had elderflower creme caramel with an enormous strawberry, delicious but you couldn't taste the elderflower! Service was very efficient and we were very comfortable. The bill came to £80 but because we were going to Sadlers Wells we got a discount of about £15! We will definitely go to The Wilmington again.
Very nice waitress and waiters- have good advice about food and were really friendly
Not our first visit to The Wilmington, but a first visit not at a Sunday lunchtime (always excellent) so a chance to sample the a la carte dinner menu, and, wow, we were not disappointed! All three courses from a varied menu - with some daily specials - were excellent, in appearance, taste and portion size. Really fabulous . And of course a wide variety of drinks to be had from the bar. Service was excellent too - friendly and courteous, but timely too. This is our dining location of choice when attending Sadlers Wells performances - and a bonus is the generous discount often available for Sadlers Wells ticket holders.
Food and service were good but it was incredibly noisy with the post work crowd.
The food was truly outstanding and excellent value for food of that quality. Good service in pleasant surroundings.
