Took the family here for dinner whilst at the the hotel . Have to say the experience wasn’t very good. Service was terrible, the food came and was over salted . Overall not a nice time . We’ve tried the grill room and enjoyed it . So if your interested in dinning in hotel , chose the Grill Room .
We took the free shuttle bus from Whistler Village and were delighted with the surroundings at the Fairmont Chateau. We quickly found the Wildflower Restaurant where we were made very welcome and shown to our table. The food was fantastic and the service, by Anna, was excellent. If we are ever in Whistler again, this place is a must. A little pricey to be honest, but no more than I would expect for food of this quality, so good value in my opinion.
Excellent food and impeccable service are the hallmark of all the restaurants at the Fairmount. The Wildflower is a good example, although it is one notch below its next door neighbor, The Grill. Great salmon, bland cioppino, fantastic mushroom and other sides.
We thoroughly enjoyed our birthday dinner for 3. Any reservations we may have had about a restaurant in a hotel were blown away quickly by the front desk staff, our coats were taken for us, and without asking , were given an improvement on our table location. Our server, Martin, was great; he was entertaining and very personable. Oh, yes, and the food was really superb.
Loved the 3 course special meal they had for conference attendees. The seafood chowder was substantial and mouthwatering. The Caesar salad was pretty good too and was creatively presented. I liked the concept of shared main course and the BC seafood grill was well presented and tasty. The cakes were the weakest part of the meal - they had too much heavy buttercream. The restaurant should put the shared mains on its regular menu in future.
We decided to spend Thanksgiving in Whistler this year, and despite searching high and low, the only recommendation I could find online for a place to eat Thanksgiving dinner was The Wildflower! The menu online was a couple years old, but figuring it would be pretty much the same experience, I made a reservation- the only time they had available over two weeks in advance for the 5 of us was 8:30 pm, so reserve early to avoid disappointment, or overly hungry tummies!! The restaurant was decorated beautifully, and the service was exactly what we have come to expect from Fairmont properties. The food was delicious, and the kitchen certainly didn't skimp on the turkey! The only cons to our experience was the price and the amount of food- it was almost $60/person, for which I would have expected a starter course, but there was only the main. As well, for anyone who is not a fan of pumpkin pie, there were no other dessert options included. However, overall it was an amazing experience, and doubly nice in that I didn't have to cook or clean up- or deal with massive amounts of turkey leftovers!
Visit to Whistler happened to start with Thanksgiving. Stayed at another hotel in the Village Centre area. I'd never celebrated Thanksgiving in Canada, and decided a week ahead to make a reservation and walk over to Upper Village to have the Fairmont's featured Thanksgiving dinner. Took a late reservation, but the house was busy and full. Staff were cordial, professional, good-natured, and accommodated me well even though I was dining alone (they placed me at a table for 4). Servers were attentive, asking whether I'd like some reading material (I declined, it felt odd to sit and read. I wish The Fairmont still offered Wifi to their President's Club members, even when they're not staying at the hotel).
The server who worked with me was patient, good-hearted, pleasant and helpful. The food was temperature appropriate, good flavors that were familiar yet some nuances (it's Thanksgiving, I expect Turkey/Dressing/MashedPotatoes/CranberrySauce but can handle a bit of creativity). Mashed potatoes had substance--not fluffy, it could have been from a home kitchen. Starter was a _delicious_ bread with butter, interesting salts on the butter. I chose a beer for the meal, it was good and a healthy portion. With pumpkin pie (nice touch of whipped cream and a piece of chocolate), I asked for peppermint tea--a great tea, as I'm accustomed to having at Fairmont.
The restaurant's interior is themed for the mountains and the Canadian West, very nice. I understand they'll redecorate a bit, I will be interested to see what they choose.
My sister, husband and I were visiting the Fairmont Château Whistler for the first time. We had a lovely, relaxing dinner at The Wildflower Restaurant and returned for the delicious breakfast buffet in the morning. (I will be putting bits of goat cheese in the omelettes I make at home from now on!)
Next time we visit the Château we are aiming for a warmer day to enjoy the beautiful outdoor seating area of The Wildflower (check out the photo of it from our 10th floor room)... the water feature is a pretty little waterfall!
Very nice- I had the char and my husband had the bison on the recommendation of the waiter. Bread with herbed butter was excellent could have had a bit more
Meal was nicely prepared and presented and hot.
Waiter Martin was very friendly and attentive- lots of fun - he really enhanced our experience

The food and service were great, as well as the nice location on the patio. Unfortunately we were sat by a table of 10 of the loudest people I have ever heard. They sat by us through appetizers and I was just about to get us moved when they finally left. We did the sharing menu, a great deal for the money and amount of food you get. The seafood was excellent, even the octopus which we normally would not be a fan of. Wine pairing that was recommended was perfect too.
We love what The Wild Flower has to offer overall. The service is always wonderful, and the food delicious! The ambience is warm and cozy, and great for a nice meal with family. The Cioppino is one of our favourites here, and the kid's salmon is a nice healthy and hearty option for the little ones. Another excellent experience at The Wild Flower tonight!
We enjoyed the service, atmosphere, and dinner so much that we booked a second reservation before we left from our first meal. Mack was our server both times and he was amazing. I was very happy when I found out that Mack would be serving us a second time. I was very impressed that many of the selections on the menu could be made to accomodate my gluten intolerance. I especially enjoyed their gluten free rolls with chive oil butter. I had the Bison Flat Iron Steak when we sat indoors and it was very tender and flavorable. We sat outdoors the second time right next to a beautiful waterfall and ordered from a family style menu for two that could probably feed four hungry adults. We took home leftovers and bypassed the included dessert because we were too full.
