Located in downtown Old Worthington, The Whitney House serves made from scratch, refined yet rustic, American comfort food. We utilize fresh and local ingredients and constantly look for new and innovative ways to serve our community.

The Whitney House pays homage to the homes and kitchens in our past that welcomed all, treated everyone like family and offered drinks and food made with love.

We opened the Whitney House because we love our mothers. Our menu is based on the glory days of Sunday dinners when the entire family would pile into the dining room (and the living room if we ran out of chairs) to sit, catch up and enjoy a delicious meal together.

We want for you to feel at home when you stop by the Whitney House. We are looking forward to serving you!

We offer Happy Hour Tuesday-Friday 4-6pm in our Tavern

Our patio is open and is sat on a first come, first serve basis and weather permitting.

    Celebrated an anniversary and picked the WH because my wife and I had dined here a lot before the pandemic. The staff were very friendly (as we remembered) and although the main dining room was loud the cozy tavern section by the bar felt more secluded. My wife loved the Dropout Soda mocktail and my Manhattan was great. The food was perfectly executed and delicious even though the menu felt a little uninspired. Overall, this was great value for money and I know we look forward to returning at a later date.

    This place is an absolute gem! I found this restaurant on Yelp, and I’m glad I did! We came in between lunch and dinner service. We were the only customers. The tavern has a very quaint, cozy & warm atmosphere. The service was excellent! Very attentive and great suggestions. I had a Bell well drink which was very refreshing and good for you with ginger kombucha and lavender! For an appetizer we had the warm bead with goat cheese & honey. Yum! I had the salmon with fingerling potatoes, my daughter had the chicken sandwich which she said was delicious! Overall, a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back!

    The food and service at The Whitney House is excellent. We really enjoyed the cornbread, the mushroom gnocchi and the pierogis with short rib!
