   The staff and atmosphere are delightful.The menu does not change, and there are no specials. This is very disappointing to frequent patrons. However what is on the menu are generally very good and often exceptional,

   Came here for a birthday brunch with my family. The service was absolutely TERRIBLE. The restaurant was moderately busy but there were open tables. Once the server got our order, which was fairly shortly after being seated, we didn’t see her again until after our food had arrived. We got coffee but no spoons. She never removed the menus from the table. Despite being there to celebrate my birthday and them being aware of that, the server never acknowledged it or offered us dessert. The food was delicious but the experience left much to be desired. It was also very very loud.

   Good food and attentive service, to the point that it felt a little rushed. Pretty loud and crowded, when the server came to talk to the next table her ponytail was hanging over our water because the tables were so close together. The food was very good, but for the price we paid we expected a more relaxed dining environment, not a tavern with surprise Irish dancers asking for donations. Did I mention the surprise Irish dancers? I hate Irish dancing.

   We had a great experience! We were eating dinner with our 1.5 year old. The staff was very welcoming of her and accommodating! They put her order in early, talked with her and brought her a play towel for her to keep her occupied. The food was delicious and the ambience was laid back and comfortable. Highly recommend! We will be back. Great local restaurant.

   The "Sunday Supper" Rigatoni is very good and the portion is huge. Enough for two to share or to have leftovers to take home. Gnocchi with mushrooms was average. Service was attentive without being overbearing. A good neighborhood restaurant.

   Really miss the old snacks - especially the goat cheese croquettes. And the ruby trout on the old menu. Seems like fewer options for folks trying to avoid simple carbs. Love the new décor and ambience. Love the new desserts. Love the new non-alcoholic cocktails.

    Had this on our list for years and unfortunately was disappointed. We had to wait for our reserved table. Server was not knowledgeable about food or drinks. Food was subpar. Drinks came out after our food was served.

    The menu at The Witney House seems to be slowly going toward average gastropub and not the upscale offering it used to be. The new French fries are average, at best. The old wedges were superior. We are bummed by all of this because they used to be a great, slightly upscale, option. The service is always great. But the food options are getting more and more in the highly caloric/heavily sauced direction rather than what they once offered. Unfortunate.

    Service was excellent (thanks, Stacy!). Portions are generous- starters and desserts are definitely shareables. Crispy Brussel Sprouts and short rib sandwich were outstanding.

    We went to Whitney house on a Saturday morning for brunch. While the service was good the food was lacking which was a surprise. I’ve always loved this place. My husband got the steak and eggs and even though we don’t expect a huge porterhouse, the serving of steak was no more than 2-3 oz. It looked like an appetizer. There may have been 1/4 c of eggs on the plate as well. It was just such a small portion, we were shocked, especially for $24. I got the quiche which was so full of onions that’s all I could taste. I ended up giving it to my husband to finish. He couldn’t handle all the onions as well. Just not their best day. We’ll give it a try again for dinner sometime.

    Delicious appetizers- pierogis & salmon dip, and entrees- pan seared walleye & hash, & walleye sandwich. Excellent & friendly staff. Plus newly remodeled dining room all made for a wonderful dining experience.

    It was a pretty packed Thursday evening, which was good to see. We haven't had the Whitney House in a few years and so we really liked the menu changes. Only issue we had was we were celebrating and looked forward to having a few drinks but our waiter did not check on us frequently when our glasses were empty and pushed to the end of the table. Then we waited 15 minutes when we were done eating to see our waiter to ask for the check, we would have loved to stay longer for more drinks and dessert but we felt ignored.

    Gnocchi was a bit overcooked and; after ordering a barrel aged Manhattan (one of the reasons we dined here) we were told that, due to a shortage of product they were only selling this on the weekend but I could have 1 since they had taken my order. Due to this, we had 1 drink with our meal then went elsewhere for additional drinks. We would have had drinks at TWH but couldn’t get the drink I wanted. So TWH lost $40-50 in additional alcohol sales not to mention a bad experience. Take it off the menu or tell people up front.

    I’m not sure I’ve reviewed them before, but the Whitney House is an institution in Worthington for a reason. The kind of place that makes it abundantly clear that the team of staff IS the restaurant, and the owners understand that. Has the feel of a dinner party among familiar friends, but your friends can’t cook or bartend like this.

    Our server was attentive, but there were major problems with the timeliness of drinks from the bar. It took 20 minutes to get our drinks after we ordered them, and even then only 3 out of 4 showed up. The food was just ok. The potato chip appetizer had chunks of unmelted cheese and the chips tasted burnt. The entrees were ok, but seemed like more of a lunch menu than dinner. Overall the timing of the food/drinks was way off and seemed stressful because I could tell our server couldn’t control the pacing of the meal and was trying to make it a positive experience.

    No one should have to sit in the back corner near the entrance to behind the bar. There isn’t enough room and we were bumped into multiple times. This was our second time to the restaurant and the first was fantastic. This time half of the people including myself did not like the food. The seafood pasta was very bland. Service was good and they took the soups we ordered off our tab because they didn’t come out until the same time as our entrees. Will try again, but will make sure to request the front room. They even had a reserved sign on our table. If someone is making a reservation you shouldn’t stick them in the corner.

    The salmon dip appetizer was amazing as well as the Brussels sprouts. The Chef came by our table to ask how everything was. We were seated in the Tavern area and the tables were extremely close together. I felt like I was rubbing elbows with the guests seated beside me. Otherwise fantastic experience!

    New menu is great. Loved the beet salad. Sandwiches are great - fish sandwich has walleye which is a treat! Short rib sliders were packed full. I loved the Scottish tea cocktail. This was our second visit and it was better than the first.We will return again!

    We dined at The Whitney House for Valentine’s Day. The service was impeccable, the food delicious and the ambiance outstanding. From the moment we entered and we’re immediately greeted until we left hearing ‘have a Happy Valentine’s Day,’ we felt every associate cared about us and was focused on creating a great experience. And they did!

    Went for a Valentines Day lunch. They were short staffed so service was very slow. Took me 30 min to get my drink. Ordered a salad and it was literally an entire head of lettuce. We’ve enjoyed Whitney House in the past. Super disappointing.

    Good atmosphere. Getting used to the new menu and missing some of my favorites. Server, Evan, was good but spread way too thin. He couldn't attend to all the needs of his tables in an appropriate amount of time. French fries came out limp and on the cool side. My husbands fish sandwich was very good. My burger needed a little more char or some additional seasoning. I would recommend WH to a friend but would share my experience.

    I made the reservation to be seated in the Tavern section for our Valentine lunch and was quite pleased with our booth, service, meal…the cheddar cheese sandwich with tomato soup is always outstanding. Highly recommend it.
