We went for a my birthday dinner. The setting is stunning, the view over the marshes is really lovely. We started with some sourdough and whipped butter while we were waiting for our food. Unfortunately it wasn’t quite to our taste, the butter was a little tasteless and it didn’t work well with the bread which was a little on the sour side for my liking (I’m a baker by profession), but this is just personal taste rather than a fault with the bread itself. We went for pork sausages and fish and chips for the kids. Portions were generous. I opted to for the grilled seafood and my partner the pork chop. Both were nice but not outstanding and the seafood dish cost almost £35. Service was good and the waiter spotted that the octopus was missing from my dish before I did which was dealt with and much appreciated. If we were to visit again I think I’d been keen to dine outside and take more advantage of the lovely views.

Food tasted good but not much on the plate, very little vegetables. I didn’t get my complete meal either. I had the raspberry frangipan with the peach but not really why the peach was on the plate. It did not go with the rest of the meal. Waitering staff were a little miserable.

We had the pork and it was luke warm, so off putting. Should of sent it back but was to shy to say anything. The flavours were beautiful but it wasn't warm enough. Must of been sitting on the side for a while before it came to our table. By the time I had eaten half my lunch it was cold. The dessert was lovely but we waited nearly 30mins for it. We got to our table at 1 and left at nearly 3. There was a lot of waiting about..We only had a main each and dessert. We drove over 1hr to get here, definitely won't be coming back. Really disappointed!

Amazing restaurant, we were a table of four and we all had something different , everything was first class , don’t miss this restaurant it’s a foodie paradise .. service was excellent too

Setting and ambience is great, service too was good. However, food was disappointing and we had to return two dishes. The rest were pretty average too. We ate here when visiting last year and the food was great so not sure why changed so much, perhaps different chef?

Food was cold so out server took it back & advised would be 20 minutes to cook again. When replacement arrived the chips had been re-heated & were so hard they couldn’t be eaten. It spoilt our meal as there were only 2 of us & I had to sit & wait while my husband ate his. The staff were very apologetic but we were so disappointed as we had heard so many great things about the food. We were not charged for my meal but that didn’t make up for the disappointment. The portion size is very small for the cost. We will not be returning.

Fantastic evening spent both in the main restaurant and Marsh side enjoying the lobster & Fizz fest. Staff were brilliant, scenery gorgeous and live Shanty-Men group to polish off a great evening. Panfried Hake dish was delicious.

We came from Northampton on a recommendation to try the sea food plater , and what can we say just wow so fresh and tasty well worth the travelling . We will definitely be revisiting your fantastic pub/resteraunt thank you .
