The impressive accolades of Oxfordshire Restaurant of the Year and Best Gastropub, are richly deserved for the White Hart. Set in the picturesque village of Fyfield, The White Hart is the ultimate country pub and offers one of the finest foodie dining experiences in the county. Housed in a stunning 15th century chantry, customers can choose to eat under the soaring eaves of the great hall, up high in the minstrel's gallery, in the cosy bar by the fire or on the beautiful patio terrace.
With a passion for provenance, the kitchen sources food from the very best local suppliers and grow much of their own fruit and vegetables. Mark even fishes for his own crayfish and trout from the local reservoir! Cooking is modern British and menus change daily depending on what is fresh and seasonal - with the signature slow roasted pork belly, with foot long crackling, being a favourite.

Other reviews mention this is a place for "foodies". I wholeheartedly agree. The location is special, the food excellent and the ambience also very comfortable. We took my 94 year old father there for lunch. Despite being 94, he is still a boy with a sweet tooth. After enjoying the first course, he ordered the Trio of Deserts. He was (and we were) expecting a small tasitng portion of each of the three. But no!. We were served a full portion of each. (Even the staff looked a bit concerned!).. Yes each was delicious, but really this desert is for sharing and way too big for ordinary mortals, never mind 94 year old boys. Please consider this as an advisory.. It is certainly not a complaint! Thank you to the White Hart for a wonderful lunch.

We enjoyed the Wednesday dinning club! But it was also our wedding anniversary and my wife’s birthday! Staff were lovely and friendly with amazing food!

Great Sunday lunch experience, good food accompanied by a few cold G&Ts, enjoyed in the garden area on a sunny and warm afternoon. Overall an excellent meal.
