The White Buffalo Club Ratings and Reviews
The place is small, when busy you are sitting right on top of each other. The size of the meal is definitely not worth the price. They let you pick your steak knife but the knives are duller than a butter knife. Hands down the worse place we tried while here .
We stayed in the hotel itself and made reservations prior to being in town due to other’s recommendations. We. Were. NOT. Disappointed!! This was probably my (and my wife’s) favorite meal of all time! The food was incredibly creative...delicious...and perfectly cooked! We’ve been to more steakhouses than we can count, and this was our favorite one by far! From the hostess, to the server, to the chef, not one person was a disappointment. We would go back again and again...and will now make this Jackson Hole trip an annual one...and plan to include dinner here multiple times each and every trip. One word...amazing.
Actually had reservations but decided to set at the bar. Can’t remember the young lady’s name that was the bartender but she was wonderful. The steaks were amazing and the atmosphere was just what you’d expect. We will be back and we will certainly recommend to friends traveling to Jackson WY.
The staff was extremely helpful and attentive. My steak was served exactly the way I like it (medium rare.) Dessert was quite good, I had the beignets and my brother shared some of his vanilla ice cream.
Note, this place is modern American style, so the plates aren’t huge. This means that you might have room fore one of their fine desserts.
The food was excellent as always, the service was clumsy and overstated. The new manager needs to take a lesson in FOH interactions. I'm not there to chill with her and I'm also not particularly inclined to share my views or opinions on the food with her. If I feel like it, I'll tell you what I think about the food and in the mean time leave me alone to enjoy my meal. Her service was inattentive at best, which was strange because they did not seem busy. And when I did have her attention it was prolonged and inappropriately personal without feeling authentic.
The food and service was awesome .Streaks were cooked perfect. We had oysters on the 1/2 shell very good and great presentation.
We also had beef tartar and went back the next day and had it during happy hour.
But the best thing we had was the patron margaritas. We went back again for them.
Service was excellent
The White Buffalo was laughably overpriced. My husband ordered 'accompaniament' of onions with his steak and got two slices of onion. His $12 Caesar Salad consisted of two whole leaves of romaine lettuce. .....no kidding! The service was slow but attentive. My corn soup was served with a flair, but just what was in those little balls of meat that unravelled into long strings that could choke a horse as I ate them.....scary! I would not return to this place...once is enough of an experience.
We were celebrating a birthday, and this place was awesome, from beginning to end. We were greeted warmly. Hannah, our server, was super-busy, but she gave us the impression she had all the time in the world to guide us skillfully through the menu. And what a menu it was! We started by sharing the duck prosciutto Caesar salad and assorted breads. Excellent: fresh and flavorful. Next we shared the mussels. Yum! Very fresh with an Asian/lemongrass broth. We sopped it up with the delicious bread. My husband had the squab special, that really was! I had the perfect bison short ribs that fell off the bone. We ordered the Brussels and mushrooms, which are not to be missed. And the amazing chocolate cheesecake had a candle and a bit of bubbly to top off the perfect meal. The excellent French wine was very reasonably priced. We thought it was a great value. We will be back!
Our experience was outstanding! We had cocktails at the bar, where the bartender was friendly, helpful & knowledgeable, telling us about the special cocktails. We also enjoyed a lovely wine with our dinner. The service was exceptional & the waitress explained the menu perfectly. The amuse bouche was a little morsel with a lot of flavor. We then had the mussels in a white miso, lemongrass & sake broth, which had a delicious balance & flavor. We ordered extra bread to get every last drop! Grilled Idaho Trout was the best preparation I ever tasted, with a napa cabbage & bok choy slaw. We had 2 preparations of bison, the Short Ribs and the bavette. All were cooked to perfection! For sides, the wild mushrooms and the Chinese long beans were great accompaniments to our meals.
I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an amazing meal in Jackson Hole. The staff, the food, the intimacy of the restaurant all made for a wonderful experience!!
Great food, awesome atmosphere. The restaurant feels like a classic New York steak house, but with a facelift. It has all the cozy-ness and warmth, with dark woods and deep rich color on the walls, but none of the stuffy-ness. The staff was nice, and very accommodating, especially to a large and rather obnoxious (read demanding) group next to us. The food was wonderful. One of the first menus I've really been excited for in Jackson. My partner ordered the swordfish, while I had the Poussin, both were great. The brussel sprout side is a must! They are known for their steaks, unfortunately we didn't try those, but I will be back to try them for sure!
