Was having a conversation with a friend and the waitress would interrupt every 3 minutes TK check in on us. While her drive to make our experience enjoyable was appreciated, we would have the interruptions more subtle.
Table was ready on arrival and food and service was excellent as always
The service was poor with a long wait for the server to come to our table to take our drinks order, errors on the food order, and accidentally spilling a drink. They did offer us desserts on the house (mine was excellent - peppermint crème Brule), but ultimately it was not enough to reverse my overall impression that the service was very poor. The meal itself was fine (dessert was the highlight for me) but I would not recommend the restaurant because of the poor service quality, especially considering that it is relatively expensive.
Filet wasnt as good. Made me question if it actually was a filet cut? Anyway, crab cakes, mussels, she-crab was all great as always. Service is always good!
Excellent customer service, our waiter was very attentive, the food was great me and my husband had the filet migon & lobster tail, asparagus, mash potatoes, and bacon mac & cheese. We were very satisfied and will be returning!
Unfortunately we were disappointed. The food quality was poor. The lobster was rubbery. The service was rushed and inattentive. I was overall not satisfied with the experience.
Went for lunch on National Crab Day and it was awesome. The crab cake lunch special was done just right as well as the scallops with crab socutash. Very tasty and Julie was great! Another great dining option in Old Town. We’ll be back for dinner!
Based on other reviews and the prices, I expected more. The crab cake was quite good, but the salad was overdressed with ranch dressing. Our server was friendly and attentive and we enjoyed a very nice wine which she recommended.
Excellent service with freshly prepared and tasty dishes.
The wharf is a great place for a romantic or date night
My husband and I loved the food. The service was great ...but the food was really wonderful. The portion sizes were good and we didn't leave stuffed. I would highly recommend.
Service and dinnerr was amazing! The food came out fast, fresh and hot! Stephanie was very sweet and attentive. It was our first time there, the manager came to the table to ask how everything was. We'll definitely be back.
Made reservations for early afternoon. It’s cozy and has an old fancier tavern feel. Wait staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. Started either the PEI mussels with citrus cream. Amazing! The oysters were nice and plump. The sauce was creamy yet light - probably due to lemon peel. Also had the she-crab soup and the seafood chowder - which was in a tomato broth. I had the blackened scallops with crab succotash. It was a special. Superb. The 5 beautifully seared scallops were on top of the succotash that contained lump crab that was in a light cream sauce. Not heavy at all. Also had the shrimp in butter sauce over thin linguini. 5 huge shrimp. Perfectly cooked pasta. Oh - and the meals came with house salads. BTW - the blue cheese dressing is homemade and wonderful.
The she-crab soup was very good
We really appreciated the ability to have a conversation without shouting - my party of six was seated in the back in a quiet nook so we could share some special time with my 91 year old grandmother. The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed what they ordered.
The wharf is a great old time seafood restaurant, one of the few left in old town. The lobster was superb and the scallps&shripm dish was equally good. I'd recommend it for anyone who loves seafood
Great restaurant and food
The food was very good! I had the garlic shrimp over linguine. The touch of red pepper flakes gave it that something extra! It was so good I finished the whole thing, whereas I usually take some home. Our server may have been new. She was genuinely trying hard, but was not polished. The atmosphere (upstairs) was very nice and fairly quiet. Even the conversation from a big group next to us wasn't overpowering. It was easy to carry on our own conversation. The great food and atmosphere made it a nice place for the two of us to celebrate my husband's birthday. We would certainly go back for special occasions.
We had dinner with two older relatives who need walkers and the staff was prepared and accommodating. The manager was especially helpful and courteous. We will be returning!
Great seafood, fantastic service, above and beyond expectations!!!!!
Historic building with early American ambiance. Excellent seafood dishes. Service was excellent. Chocolate Mousse for dessert to die for. Great location to stroll King Street before or after.
Something has changed at The Wharf, and I think it's the menu. I had the Triple Norfolk (crab meat, lobster meat, and shrimp w/mashed potatoes and veggies). Crab meat sat on top of a slice of baguette (that has been soaked in butter), the lobster meat was the prawns (do not expect the tail), but the shrimp was good. They did, however, bless us with a free dessert for our anniversary, but the item we selected Bourbon Pecan Pie, was very dry.
Love the ambiance, but food selection and taste is very important. I'm sure I'll go back again, but not sure when or why.
Excellent food, service, and ambience. Would highly recommend and plan to visit again.
The Warf is a great restaurant for that night out with your special someone. The atmosphere was quiet and elegant, the food was delicious, and the staff were amazing. I would definitely recommend it to friend or colleague.
Chicken was dry and the seafood was way over cooked! The shrimp, calamari, and scallops were like rubber. I would not recommend this restaurant!
First time, enjoyed the food. Celebrated my 60th Birthday with family and friends, will be sure to visit again.
All four diners gave two thumbs up on the dishes we ordered: Chesapeake Bay rockfish (2x), yellow fin tuna, and crab cakes. We were seated by the bar on Friday night, the locals were boisterous, but obviously it’s “their” place to hang out on a Friday night, so a bit noisy. Three before dinner cocktails, bottle of wine, 4 entrees, was $50 per person, so average score on value for money.
Food was delicious. Great service. Love the quiet and pretty ambiance
Our waiter was very friendly, informative and attentive. The food was enjoyed by all 4 in our party. The stuffed flounder was very good as was the salmon and the portions were just right. The warm bourbon pecan pie with ice cream on top was delicious although not 'warm' as advertised. It was too good to send back to ask that they warm it. Could not let it leave the table because it was so good. (smile)
Quiet atmosphere. Food was plentiful and delicious. We went for restaraunt week and received a 3 course meal for only $20. Service was great. I would definitely go back.
Great food, service and atmosphere. Crab cakes are fabulous, as was the she-crab soup.
Our server was great! Food was great as well. Super fast. Great price for restaurant week three course meal.
Awesome. Would go back again and again.
The food was great but the service was a bit slow. There was miscommunication with the wait staff on who was going to our table so we sat for over 15 minutes before anyone came over. There where several large parties that made it very loud.
I really enjoyed it. The atmosphere was good. The staff was very helpful.
Fantastic experience. They accommodated a group of 9 family members arriving separately from Philly, Brooklyn, and Manhattan, aged 6mos to a 92 yo w a walker, for my sister's 60th birthday. All staff were patient and pleasant, especially our server. And the food was superb. Lots of choices. I highly recommend the ahi tuna, crab cakes (no fillers) and coconut pie! Go! Find out for yourself.
Our server, Andea (?) was awesome. Delightful and very accommodating of food allergy questions. Food was excellent - the she-crab soup remains one of Old Town’s signature appetizers. Monkfish risotto, tripe Norfolk, crusted salmon, all excellent. We’ve been coming here for years and it remains our go-to when guests want seafood. We took a guest from overseas and she said it was the best seafood she has had in the US.
Our 2 couples really enjoyed the warm atmosphere and cozy ambience of The Wharf on a cold early February evening. We've been to this restaurant several times in the past and it is on our 'regulars' list but for the first time we were seated upstairs where the atmosphere and views of King Street, with the lighted street trees sparkling outside the windows and we enjoyed what is obviously an updated scene up there. The food is always good, whether a seafood specialty or the filets, and this evening was another notch in a well adorned belt. The shrimp and linguini are an especially wonderful dish. Just right!
Of course, we'll be back!
The food was excellent. The fish was very fresh, presentation was very nice with wonderful service. We sat upstairs which was much more quiet where you could have a nice relaxing dinner. I highly recommend this restaurant.
A wonderful experience at The Wharf! I've been wanting to try this restaurant for several years and I was finally able to visit this past weekend for a birthday lunch. Wow! Old world charm and historic interior. Staff was very courteous and professional and welcoming! Our server, Julianna was excellent! I wish we had servers like her where I live and work! Great food, outstanding menu and selections. I will definitely be back! They do a very nice gesture for a birthday at the end of the meal. Pricey, but worth the visit!
