NEVER AGAIN!!! I am a longtime resident of Old Town and I guess I forgot how bad this place was...it is meant for tourists...food was Ok to good, she crab soup was warm and unfortunate. Crab cakes were not great...just good...service was atrocious and I Don’t say that ever. Waiter was rude, barely spoke English, didn’t understand what we wanted...I spent $480 at dinner and was embarrassed ...my business clients walked away with a very unfavorable impression. Close your doors and try again...you are doing a disservice to the history of the Wharf.
There were six of us for dinner. We were upstairs in a larger room that was not squeezed in. Was a nice environment where we could talk and enjoy ourselves.
I brought my friends to The Wharf to celebrate my birthday, and went off of a friend's recommendation. I am gluten free, and there were multiple options clearly listed on the menu, which eliminated the guessing game I sometimes have to play when it comes to finding something safe to eat. The food was excellent and our server was timely, attentive & efficient. We enjoyed the food so much that my entire party cleaned their plates! Will definitely be back to try something different on the menu!
The service was impeccable! The food was outstanding one of our best meals ever!! When I made the reservation I mentioned we were celebrating a special anniversary and they surprised us with s complimentary dessert. We will definitely be recommending this restaurant to our friends.
Delicious! Great seafood and unique setting. Absolutely delightful.
20th Wedding Anniversary
Always fantastic service and food. Setting is in a historic building giving it true Old Town ambience.
It was our 9th anniversary. Our server was great and the food was delicious!
The food was great. Neat old building.
The lobster was fine. The soup excellent. The calamari tasty but greasy. The scallops excellent. The shrimp overcooked. The crab stuffing sauce unappealing, but the crab tasty. The glass of whine was a bit on the small size.
Wonderful staff and food was delicious..
Excellent food and service. Edwin our waiter was also incredibly friendly.
The restaurant was ok. It seemed as if they had updated the upstairs portion of the restaurant but not the bottom floor.
Excellent food and good prices, especially Thursday nights when wines up to $50 per bottle are half off.
Went to The Wharf for Restaurant Week lunch - excellent selection and great value. We enjoyed the shrimp and crab fritters, she-crab soup, crab cake sandwich and shrimp with linguine (which is spicy). Our server, Tim, was personable and very attentive.
Good food, service and experience during restaurant week. Really enjoyed!
I went there this past weekend with a friend that was visiting from out of town since we heard such good things about the food. We had a reservation at 7:30pm and I called to let them know we would be 5 minutes late due to our uber. Once we arrived at 7:35pm and checked in our table was not ready yet. We were not seated until 8pm. The service was absolutely terrible! It took them 25 minutes to even come over and take out orders. My friend and I did not leave until 10:20pm. That's almost 2.5 hours for two people to eat dinner on a pre fixed menu! TERRIBLE! I will not be returning here, the food did not outweigh the experience. My soup was cold and my entree was great but the sides were cold as well. NO NO NO
Delicious food, great service. We enjoyed our trip there! Parking was right around the corner but expensive.
Loud child nearby, surly service when we weren’t ready to order the first time we were asked, delicious food, should not be rated $30 and under. It is $30-50.
My husband and I ended up here for restaurant week the day after our wedding (on our "minimoon"). The food was fantastic-- he got the surf and turf, I got the crabcakes-- both dishes were remarkable. The service was fantastic, too!
Great meal and good service!
The Wharf was nothing less than excellent food and amazing service! ❤️💯
I had my Mother’s 65th Birthday brunch here! The service and food were amazing. Thank you to the management team and the waiting staff for making this a special day!
Recently enjoyed an outstanding dinner at the Wharf. My date and I dined on the restaurant week special, surf & turf, which included salad, beef filet medallions, grilled shrimp with a sherry cream sauce and Key Lime pie for dessert. The waiter provided very attentive service and was charming & engaging. Will definitely return soon !
It's a really nice place with a great selection and very friendly staff but did not pull through. I got surf and turf and the beef was satisfactory but the shrimp left much to be desired. My date said she did not care for her meal either. That being said, we also got two appetizers which were both FANTASTIC and a dessert that was unique and well done. I dont know if this was just a bad night for their main courses or what, but for shelling out $150 for a meal I expected it to at least be good if not great. All in all, i think I'd go back for drinks and apps, but not a full meal.
The food was both beautifully presented and delicious. The staff was very knowledgeable about the dishes and they were very attentive. We would eat here again!
The food was mediocre. I got the seafood sampler. The shrimp was over cooked all 5 of them and poorly seasoned. The scallops were ok, the lobster was overcooked and the vegetables were just ok. Its a seafood place so the least you would expect is better than fair.
I took my family expecting to pay a lot of money and it was very reasonable. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I hope to get back to the area and enjoy another meal here.
The crab cake was very meaty which was the highlight of the meal. Everything else, including cocktail, was just “ok”.
I would stay away from the pasta, lol. But the seafood was fresh!
We had a wonderful evening, we celebrated the premonition of a friend and had the best table in the house. One of my favorite places to eat, been going for many years.
Everything was perfect from opening the door to closing it after dinner.
Thank you for lovely evening.
I will highly recommend the The Wharf.
Food was very flavorful. The portions were a little weak for the price. Nice ambiance but gnats were a distraction. I made a note that it was my wife’s birthday in the reservation but it wasn’t acknowledged nor was there a slice of cake on behalf of the restaurant. Kinda mediocre if you ask me.
The seafood dishes we had were excellent as was the salad. Although not inexpensive, we felt it was an excellent value. The ambiance and service also was excellent.
The food and service was outstanding! Very friendly and professional staff! We will return!
Loved this place!! Great, historic location & the food was amazing, as was the service! Best crab cakes we’ve had in the DC metro!
My wife and I have celebrated our wedding anniversary at The Wharf the last couple of years. We love the food and the service. The prices is high, so we splurge this one time a year.
The server was very pleasant and the food was well prepared and tasted great.
Really delicious salmon and mashed potatoes and spinach. Pear martini is so refreshing. Key lime pie is great too.
