Wonderful dinner. Crab cakes were great!! Wish they had just sautés flounder. Desserts were excellent!!
The service was nice but the food was bland and overpriced.
Great place, excellent food and service
First time here. Took my son and family for son's birthday. I'd definitely come here again.
Excellent food, great ambience and great service great location
We typically don’t go out on Thanksgiving and were looking for some place quiet. We loved that they had 4 menu options rather than a generic turkey dinner. Loved the beet and pear salad! The pumpkin pie / chocolate mousse dessert was amazing!
I would recommend The Wharf to anyone looking to eat out on Thanksgiving. However I do not recommend the turkey, as I had that last year, and I did not like it. The turkey was cut in big tasteless junks. I like my Turkey thin and juicy, with a crispy edge, and gravy. However this year I ordered the crab cakes, and they were excellent. I had crab soup which was also excellent; creamy with sherry, and I believe a lot of pepper. The roasted potatoes were perfect, and I like the Spinach. I ate a whole basket of hot fresh baked bread, with a big serving of butter. The pumpkin pie and chocolate mousse were excellent. I also had a cup of coffee, which tasted fresh, and was excellent. I was waited on immediately, and the waitress served each of my courses as I finished one by one. I also didn't have to wait for my check, which I appreciated, as I like to eat and leave without delay. A convenient parking garage is only a block away. I recommend The Wharf for anyone who likes seafood for Thanksgiving. I will be there next year.
Third time at this place upperclass will go again and again
The seafood was amazing and staff were friendly and attentive.
Food was pretty good, might have like something else, but I tried something new. The people and atmosphere was very nice though!
My wife and I both grew up in and around Alexandria, but we had never tried The Wharf. All I can say is it was really, really good, and you should try it too.
Ken our waiter was so terrific again - he’s friendly, courteous and so on point. We went back to the Wharf because of the service we received from Ken the first time. He’s a great person and a real asset to the Wharf.
Had a very good meal at the Wharf, the food was good, the service was very attentive, my water glass was never empty. Overall value was very good. One note, I was unable to get cell service in the restaurant. This could be an issue for some, there was a guest wifi but it was password protected.
Excellent dining experience as usual. Lobster was delicious.
Excellent seafood and service. Mrs and I both ordered a special consisting of a ½ crab stuffed Maine lobster, grilled scallops and grilled shrimp. The food was excellent: fresh, very tasty, and perfectly prepared. The service was attentive throughout – excellent. We will be back.
Great place.. I found tH food to be verY good, bt priced a bit y
This restaurant was charming, you can feel the history, everything I ordered was delicious, staff was great
The ambiance is nice and our waiter was polite. He wasn’t much of a digital butterfly, but that was okay. The restaurant is a good choice. The food was good. I don’t feel as though it was a home run, but it wasn’t bad. I think they could kick it up a notch. We will probably go back.
Service was good, but menu is about 30 years out of date. My wife's dish, rockfish, was supposed to be pan seared. It was actually mostly baked, the skin was on but nor crispy, and did not taste fresh. My stuffed shrimp was fine, but nothing more. They comped us on the rockfish, but we would still not return.
The restaurant is in the best location in Old Town Alexandria. The food and the service were great. You must try the cream of crab soup, it was perfect. We will return again soon.
I really enjoyed my Norfolk Combination dish.
Every visit to Wharf is better than the previous time. Keep up the good work. Thank you!
Wonderful dining experience! Excellent meal choices on the menu.
They sat us in the worst table. It was loud and expensive. Not at all what we were hoping for in Alexandria.
The food was excellent! The flounder stuffed with crabmeat was AWESOME! It was fresh, moist and flakey! My family and I will definitely visit again....Mrs. Queen
Great location on lower King Street, nice, quieter atmosphere on second floor. Filet Mignon was very good, a bit small. New York Strip was low quality, seemed like USDA Choice at best. Sauteed spinach, and nice Birthday dessert were excellent, as was the Sonoma Cab wine. Salmon was Awesome! Staff moved around so fast was a bit of a distraction. Will surely return for seafood!
Great service from the minute we walked in the door. Wonderful drinks and food. Will definitely be back again!
Great steak and shrimp. All very fresh in great setting
Had dinner there with some colleagues from out of town. The food was fantastic. I was especially pleased with the filet. The setting is exquisite. I quite enjoyed the whole experience.
We came back a second time after having a rehearsal dinner on Friday. The service was excellent and the food matched the service. Very professional staff, friendly, efficient and helpful. I had great experience.
Excellent customer service and food was great
Family visiting from out of town
Visited twice in the last month. Sat both on the sidewalk and inside; great atmospheres. Service was attentive with the right amount of interactions. Food was excellent. Will be going again for special occasions!
Great restaurant but parking difficult.
Went to Valet parking. Was charged $5.
When they saw which restaurant we were going on they changed price to $15!
Actually a family get together. Food was great. The personality of our waiter, Ken, made a big difference. He was engaging and made it a fun time.
The Wharf is always a pleasure, which is why my wife chose that place to celebrate her birthday. We like the casual ambiance, and the food and service are always excellent. My only reservation is that a meal is becoming quite expensive. Two entrees, with salads and a glass of wine each runs to $100 or more. That begins to get at the limit that we are willing to spend on a couple of meals out each month.
Service was very good (thank you Mohamed), the food very tasty! It is a nice place for a date or special occasion.
Great food, experience, and service. Totally enjoyed myself
