We had the best lunch at the wharf pub today. Our server was kind and attentive. The food was out of the world. The truffle tots are phenomenal! The sliders were perfect and the mustard aioli was great with the fries. This is a great option in downtown Newport.
Food was poor, was expecting a lot better.
Service was very good
Cleanliness was poor , our table was not clean and our clothes were sticking to the table.
The waitress was decent but the host and hostess were apathetic and unfriendly
Disappointed with the food quality and high prices. Service was decent, but the overall experience was not up to the level that many other places we go in Newport. Again, not terrible but there are many other choices for the same or less money.
Bad experience - inattentive waiter, very noisy and most important COLD burger
Great fun. Food was somewhat inventive. Good beer selection. Miss the cordial cocktails
The service was very good. The food was average. Would not rush back.
We were in New Port over the weekend. We were able to get a reservation which was great because everywhere around the wharf was on a hour plus wait for 2. Atmosphere was fun but our server was kind of well, rude. We got seated and he was at our table as we were picking up the menu we asked for more time since the drink menu has a lot of great things on it. He looked at us like we had 3 heads sort of mumbled and walked away. We had to ask for water 3 times and finally it arrived as we were finishing dinner. Pub Weiner was delicious but we were disappointed not more seafood with its location. But everything was tasty! Definitely a good vibe in there if you want to be around people:)
Good quick dinner in an expensive area. Great beer selection. Moderately priced food.
Had a dinner at the Wharf Pub. Great atmosphere for a true "pub-like" experience. Great beer selection, tight seating, live music, and a great Newport vibe. Food was very good - oysters and tater tots were especially good.
I had fish and chips and the fish was good but the chips were a bit small-sized and amount. Probably because we were there late, after 9 because we went to a different restaurant first.
Great location. Menu seemed interesting and fun. Tater tots were great but small portion (we shared.) Waited well over an hour for our entrees which were ok not outstanding - we all had burgers of some variation. Would consider trying again - maybe we just had an off night.
Had chicken and waffles. Chorizo was a bit overwhelming for the dish. Not enough chicken. Also had shrimp and grits. It’s was delicious but the Chorizo was almost too spicy and takes over the dish. Waiter was mediocre. Drinks were good. Overall We still enjoyed it.
The food was great. Not outstanding, but definitely tasty. The ambiance inside leaves something to be desired. I was disappointed that because we booked a rez on Open Table we had to sit inside. The outdoor patio is a real selling point of dining at the Wharf. I would go back to check out their beer selection.
Had the Yo Mama Burger -- with peanut butter on top -- excellent
Loved the oyster beer shot. The calamari and peel and eat shrimp were excellent. Great service, very attentive.
It was q slow night. We sat inside in a booth. The waitress was very pleasant and the food was good. I had read you should try the taters and we did. They were quite good.
they cater to gluten free individuals. a large drink menu must make a reservation though
The hostess was rude and said she could not honor our reservation becaue they were made 45 munutes earlier. She actually laughed at me. I showed her the conformation through open table and she said we have to wait until a table was available or we coould sit in community bar area. I complained and we were seates about 30 minutes later.
It took a really long time for the food to come out. But it was worth the wait
Visiting from New Jersey with friends and saw the Wharf had good ratings online. We were seated promptly at our reservation time and offered drink specials. Extensive drink selection. I went with a porter first and then the paloma after. Both were very good. We had peel and eat shrimp for the appetizer and the flavor was great. I ordered the BBQ brisket sandwich and the thing was a beast. So much flavor was packed into the sandwich and it all went together really well. Tater tots on the side were hot and crispy so that was a plus. There was some love music which was cool, and not too loud. The overall atmosphere and decor was cool too. Great spot to meet up for dinner, would definitely return if I’m ever back in Newport.
Very good gastropub. Everything we ordered was very good/ excellent. Tater tots are ubiquitous on menu. Who knew that was a thing?
Recommend cocktails menu and shrimp n grits.
Friendly server but terrible food. Beef Sliders were literally identical to my son’s kids meal but double the price. Another burger was totally over cooked and our request for ketchup went unanswered. All in all, a waste of money!
Fun atmosphere singer Billy was great. Good was very good.
This restaurant is great for tourists mass production and certainly not for an epicurean . Spoiled coming from new york
We had a tasty dinner at The Wharf Pub. Great location. Great selection of tater tots. Make sure you try out one of the varieties.
Authentic setting. Loved it! Shrimp and Grits excellent. JK Burger also great.
Our server was great and was spot on with recommending the grits.
As central as it gets in Newport. Basic pub food, very relaxed atmosphere. Happening and a party scene.
A computer glitch delayed our lunch substantially but they made up for it by deleting the charge for 2/4 meals. When we finally got our meals they were terrific. Great place!
Went to the Wharf Pub for my girlfriend’s birthday and had an amazing experience. The food was amazing and our waitress was extremely kind. They even threw in a free dessert for my girlfriend which was an awesome addition to our experience!
TOO LOUD! Laura our server was great. Singer was terrific. Just way too loud for conversation
Dinner while on a visit to Rhode Island. The beer selection was fanatic and there’s was great tasting food to satisfy everyone. The burgers were great, chops tasty and the chorizo and grits very flavourful.
Decent food, great location.
Great place to eat in Newport!♥️
My dinner was not prepared as described in menu and over done. My wife’s was raw and inedible. We both had different versions of their sliders. I’d go back for drinks but not to eat.
The Wharf is nice overall! We went to The Wharf because we heard they have great Chicken and waffles. I personally didn't think it was hit! It is quite dry and blend. I would also think they can improve in terms of cleanliness - I was getting condensed drops of water in my food from the ceiling AC pipes and the table where we sat was greasy.
Great for kids; relaxed atmosphere; loved sitting outside on the porch.
This place has become a must stop for me when I am in the Newport area. The service is amazing and the food is even better. Also, they have a great beer and bourbon selection! Definitely recommend!
Great food and service
My Boyfriend and I were looking for a low-key way to celebrate our 3rd anniversary, so I suggested to the Wharf Pub. He had never been, and I hadn't been there in YEARS, but I heard they had a large beer menu and my coworkers said that we "had to get the tots!"
Unfortunately, we were given 3 different beer menus, and the first 3 beers we tried to order from the menus were unavailable. Our server, Caroline was apologetic and amazing, and when she confirmed the menu, we ordered 2 beers, one on tap and one bottle. Later, when we tried to order something different, One keg was kicked so I only got 1/3 of the glass (which she gave me at no charge, but it would have been nice to have 1 full pint) and the other one my BF wanted was "unavailable." Finally, I went back to the first bottle I choose and my BF opted for water.
The food was good, but unremarkable and a little pricey, and because the only reservations that were available was at 6pm, we ended up having a 10 top seated next to us with 4 small children.
Having a boy myself, I know that kids can be rambunctious, but it was like a scene from Lord of the Flies.
Overall, I give the whole experience a "C-", saved only by the service.
It was disappointing, and I don't think we'll be back for a while with so many other good choices available in Newport. I'm sure this would be a great option for some people; it just didn't work out for us in this situation.
