I loved this place! Perfect meal and date night for a weekend getaway with my wife!
The view was amazing! The food delicious!
We have not been to the restaurant at "The Wharf" in probably 15 years! We heard the entire place, hotel and all, was renovated and remodeled but just hadn't thought of going back. Doing errands on the shoreline a diner we like was too busy and we were hungry, my husband says, "What about that Wharf place?" So, we went. We're very glad we did and will be back.
Sat on enclosed, heated outside porch with beautiful views on Long Island Sound.
Met a friend for lunch and had a wonderful time catching up. We never felt rushed and thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance and delicious lunch. I will definitely return for lunch and plan dinner with my husband soon.
The food was fantastic, and the staff was so friendly and helpful! They even gave us a booth in front of the fireplace so we could celebrate our anniversary in a more private setting.
Have never been a fan of the food or service at MBH. Went there for the view. Had dinner on October 26, 2019 and was pleasantly surprised that the service was vastly improved on every front and the menu had much to offer. My dinner was excellent. Funny, we go there for the view but at this occasion it was dinner and no view so we sat inside. First time I noticed the ambiance. Was rather bland. Nice room but no individual feel.
Lovely as always. Great place for an evening with friends or a special occasion.
Always pleasnt there. Just alot of flies in the Six-top table area on The Porch. Need to replace missing canvas at that end of porch.
I had the Osso Buco braised low and slow so the meat is "fall-off-the-bone" tender. My girl had the Halibut which was also outstanding.
The food is usually good and consistent
It’s always a pleasure dining at this restaurant. It consistently provides deliciously prepared food in an elegant but casual seaside environment.
Fabulous restaurant with great service
My husband and I made a spontaneous Sunday Brunch date at the MadisonBeach Hotel. We were so pleasantly surprised by the Brunch. The variety, presentation, ambience of the dining room, staff and view made it a memorable meal. Gorgeous carving tables, salads and the plentiful raw bar was a stand out. I will never forget the dessert table filled with such an attractive array of desserts - including chocolate covered strawberries! Such a beautiful facility where you are able to stroll seaside and sit on the deck to enjoy the unobstructed view of the ocean. We will definitely be returning!
I would Highly recommend the Wharf-Madison Beach Hotel Restaurant. The dining room is elegant. The menu has a wonderful variety. The food was delicious and plentiful. The value was incredible.
Always good especially dessert!
The new chef is absolutely incredible. He made a vegetarian meal for my husband that was exceptional!!!!!!! Can’t wait to go back
Amazing all around!
Good food, on the expensive side, great bartenders
I love sitting outside to enjoy the view and to be able to hear my companions. Inside is unbearably loud. The food, was good but not great. The service was a little slow, but there was a wedding that night. It was expensive. I would go,there again but not often.
Totally disappointed. Very unorganized. Had the wrong appetizers, meal and drinks delivered to our table. The crab was on toast that was so dry you could not eat it. Not the first class restaurant it used to be.
Had a nice dinner with another couple. We sat outside on the deck and it was a nice evening and the meal was very good. Service was excellent.
I've been visiting the Madison Beach Hotel and dining at its Wharf Restaurant for over 60 years. It has grown in several stages from a huge shack to a minor palace on the best beach location in CT. Food, service, and accommodations are all excellent. The Sound is beautiful, and the town is wonderful. I urge you to visit there; you'll love it!
It was truly fabulous!! Will go back again and again!
We had a lobster roll and fish and chips... nothing else was on the plate. The service tried but was not trained. The new round top glass is difficult to drink from and the chairs are too low for the tables.
We were fortunate enough to be able to eat outside on the beautiful deck the scenery was breathtaking and the night was perfect. Our waitress was wonderful she was courteous she didn’t rush us she let us take our time. And the food was out of this world
Went for romantic dinner. Dining room perfect with exception of noisy party at high top near bar. Food excellent. Staff very accommodating. Would return again.
Reservations were easy. The outdoor setting is beautiful. The staff is excellent. The service was very good. The watermelon salad exceptional. The halibut was perfectly fresh and very well presented; but lacking flavor. The diver scallops were not fresh and very improperly garnished for flavor though presented well. Presentation must be hand in hand with freshness and flavor.
Was never told it was a brunch buffet only....it was good, but not what we were looking for. Parking was only valet, not my style. Drinks were flavorful, but pretty much non-alcoholic....we got comped on those. Great views....we’ve had other great experiences....today wasn’t on of them.
The good: The view from the outside seating on the deck is lovely, especially at sunset, and the addition of outdoor heaters made it very comfortable after sundown. The service was attentive and pleasant. The not-so-good: I found the menu a bit dull and the food wasn’t great, especially for the price. I had three courses (watermelon salad, scallops with a very dry polenta “tile”, and the little shot glass dessert special of the day) and didn’t really enjoy any of them. My dining partners all had the Peruvian fish/saffron stew and liked it, so perhaps I ordered wrong. Still a lovely evening by the water.
Have eaten here a number of times, and the food was great. This last time some of the food was subpar. The scallop entree that I ordered was not cooked well, and the polenta was cold and hard as if it was made a few days ago. I found this very
inconsistent, since I want to be a regular patron.
The service was excellent.
Good food and a lovely view if you are lucky enough to get a table outdoors for dinner.
The Wharf turned out to be the perfect choice for our 4th wedding anniversary! We both loved our dinners and the presentations were impressive. Our experience was greatly enhanced by the very attentive and friendly waitstaff, and we were thrilled with a memorable dessert that celebrated our special occasion. We'll be back!
Food was excellent, and the presentation was creative. We enjoyed lunch this time but will plan to return for dinner for a special occasion.
Excellent brunch, well worth its high price, not least for the shellfish.
A idyllic day for a Sunday brunch overlooking the shoreline--matches with exceptional service, a lovely table on the Porch, and delicious selections. While the buffet space is quite compact, the dessert table was dazzling, a few other entrees tucked in niches might have been missed. Was there any bread for the cold salmon? any baquettes to accompany other dishes? I would recommend this Sunday brunch.
Beautiful place always! Took my sister to brunch with our husbands and they didn’t believe us how good it was until they got there! Amazing food, beautiful place, delicious food, friendly service. My third time since March to have brunch and I will definitely be back!
Met long distance friends for a catch up dinner on a Saturday night. Excellent table seating, beautiful views, chef accommodated a special food request and the service team was gracious and very kind allowing us to linger to chat.
Wish the menu included a few more choices for those that don’t eat seafood. 1 chicken dish, 1 meat not enough. I understand it’s a shoreline restaurant but another choice or 2 would be perfect.
Although the food was good, my friends raved about the mussels, service was incredibly slow. A half hour wait for cocktails is way too long. The restaurant was crowded and noisy and some of the waitstaff were practically running as they delivered the food. People at the bar were two and three deep and it looked like they had only two bartenders, and that clearly didn’t work. We probably should have expected the crowds and noise at a beachfront restaurant in the summer on a week night. Our waiter was personable and knowledgeable and the delays were not his fault. He did tell us that there were long delays at the bar and that we should order appetizers ASAP. The first martinis we ordered came in short martini glasses that were not even 3/4 full. The second ones came in the regular tall stem glasses and were filled to the brim, as they should be. They were delicious! Perhaps they should have more bar staff, and even special staff just to deliver drinks. The manager and the staff tried their best and I respect that. We might return in the fall when it’s less hectic.
