One of the best meals we have gotten in the area. The service was amazing and the food was really good. Highly recommend for a quiet date night.
Food was on the very low side of average. Calamari was rubbery, oily, and didn’t have enough flavor or breading on it. Scallops were very rubbery, crab cake had too much saucy filling and not enough crab. For the price point, this wasn’t worth it at all.
It was a little bit of a wait, but that was expected since it was Valentine's day. The server was very friendly and attentive, and the food was amazing. We both enjoyed our experience and plan on coming back
Food was decent but very overpriced for what it was. Since it was Valentine's Day and they were trying to cram people in, we were seated at what I can only assume is usually a waiter's station, as two sides of the table were against a wall. Very tight space and my wife was bumped by waiters going in and out of the kitchen several times. Our server was very nice and knowledgeable which was a plus. My wife and I were both disappointed with our experience and agreed we wouldn't be going back any time soon.
She crab soup - great
Crab fritters - too much batter, over fried
Crab cakes - very good
Norfolk platter - very good
The experience was good, however I think the Warehouse is better for the same price range
Very nice seafood restaurant in the high traffic part of Alexandria on King Street. Menu focused on shellfish and steak. Food was very good and would recommend it, but it was a little pricey for drinks and it wasn’t the best steak/seafood I have had in the area at that price point.
The food was amazing. Our waiter was super friendly. Try the mango Martini
Waiter very helpful, efficient, and courteous. Crab cakes were wonderful.
I have enjoyed many dinners at the Wharf . This Thursday was not one for the records. Had the raw oysters, and she crab soup for starters. The soup was luke-warm and bland. I ordered the sea bass which was horrible.
The best thing about the dinner was the bottle of wine and the company.
Exceptional seafood -- soups, oysters, broiled seafood platter. Service from Donny was efficient, professional, and fun.
Thanks so much for the kind words! I'll make sure he knows he did a great job and I hope you'll come back to visit all of us again soon.
Familiar place, in Old Town Alexandria and one of the few that specialize in seafood in this "Port City". Very good meal with the Broiled Seafood Platter and accommodating on substituting the vegetable! Nice meal!
Thanks so much Alexandrian, gotta love some fresh seafood in our little port city! Hope to see you again soon!
We love this place!! The Waite staff are always so personal and attentive. Great food!!
Lobster was excellent, if pricy. The special seafood platter was somewhat disappointing - shrimp were overcooked, and I wasn't a fan of the sauce on the crabmeat. If everything on the platter had been equally well prepared, it would have been a decent value.
Service was excellent and it's a lovely old restaurant.
Hi there, thanks for providing your feedback! We strive to provide the best seafood and service in Old Town and I'm sorry to hear we missed that mark. I'll make sure our staff is aware of the preparation you experienced and trust that we'll do our best to prevent that in the future. Thank you again and I hope that we'll be seeing you soon!
Food was great location is premier old town service was outstanding I loved it.
Excellent dining experience and great service, as always!
Our server was so friendly.
The food is always pretty good! I wold recommend this restaurant.
The layout upstairs was cramped on one side and the food was subpar at best. The shrimp and blue crab fritters were fried too long making the crust extremely tough to cut through. The salmon was not completely cooked through even though I asked for well done, the asparagus was overcooked and the mashed potatoes had no flavor. I decided to check this restaurant out for restaurant week to see if I would mike it enough to make this restaurant a regular of mine, however I will never go back.
Great night out. The service food and atmosphere all were perfect. I had the salmon my wife the crab cakes. Both were fantastic. Appetizers or fried oysters and she crab soup were also incredible. Great wine as well. Nice place classy excellent server. A very pleasant experience. Thank you.
Excellent service and delicious food.
We are definitely returning.
It was an extremely enjoyable experience, and we plan on returning.
Thanks so much Stephen, we look forward to it!
This iconic seafood restaurant in Old Town Alexandria is at the heart of the old city and full of ambience, including old stone walls and roof beams from long ago. The space is fantastic, and the food measures up to that high standard. Always a fund place to dine, we'll be back again and again!
She crab soup was delish. Big chunks of real crab meat. Went for restaurant week. Good value, good food.
Really enjoyed the food, service & atmosphere was cozy. I will return again!
Went for restaurant week, the crab cake were great. Service was very prompt and friendly.
Very good food and experience. Drinks from the bar were terrific. Would definitely come back.
Excellent service and the crab cake are the best in DC!
Birthday dinner. Service was great. Food was good and the ambiance was really nice.
Our waiter was very thoughtful and patient with us since we had to delay ordering. Restaurant Week
Menu was a great value.
Thursday was a great evening to got for dinner and the Warf provided a casual dining experience with good good. Would recommend it for a date night.
The food was amazing! I ordered the crab cakes and my boyfriend had the garlic shrimp pasta, both amazing dishes!
Great food and service!!!
Food came out fast and was very delicious.
Great food, great place, oustanding service, 100% great
Over an hour wait with a reservation. An hour wait for the food. One dish was severely undercooked, the other sat under the heat lamp for a very long time. Hosts and waiters were rude. No reason to patronize this restaurant again.
We had a 9:30 pm reservation but it took an hour for a table to become available. Service was a little haphazard but food was good.
This was our second New Year's Eve dinner at the Wharf. Last year, due to the government shut-down, the restaurant wasn't that crowded. This time, even though we had a 9:30 reservation, we waited until after 10:00 to be seated. It wasn't any fault of the Wharf staff...just that other diners had finished eating and paid their bills but just weren't leaving their tables! However, once we were seated in a nice, cozy table near the back, we received speedy, excellent service. Our food was delicious. We all had raw oysters...yummy.. and for entrees two people had Ahi tuna, one had salmon and one had the surf and turf. Rave reviews from all diners! We shared desserts of key lime pie and still made it to the fireworks display on the Potomac (only a block away) in plenty of time. We will be back at the Wharf again next New Year's, and would highly recommend it to anyone in the area.
The Restaurant is great for fine dining. The food is amazing. The only thing we didn’t really like, was how busy it was. We got our reserved table 30min later than supposed, as ghey were delayed. And it was all served pretty fast, cause they had still a lot of people waiting. So we expected to leave later and were almost “shown” the exit. For a New Years Eve it wasn’t what we actually expected.
New Year's Eve dinner was outstanding and we were so pleased at how quiet the restaurant was so that we easily could talk. Our server, Edwin from Guatemala, was excellent. We are so pleased that we were able to get a table. We will go back many times for special occasions.
