   Multiple steaks were not cooked correctly. Very rare in the middle. Everything else was great. Salads and Desert were awesome.

   First class restaurant! The host was gracious and welcoming, our server was outstanding. Although a steak house we had sea food and it was delicious. My wife had sand dabs and I had jumbo shrimp over angel hair pasta, both out of this world. The restaurant has a great wine list, delicious appetizer’s (we had the escargot) and so many wonderful entrees. Highly recommend this eatery.

   We’ve always loved the Whaling Station. Alfredo has been there for years & makes sure the quality stays top notch. That is what brings us back over & over & of course the Waiters like Paul & Jum too!

    Waiter and his assistant very attentive to our needs. A little bit noisy. Had a Rib eye steak and it was cooked perfectly. My wife had the prawns and pasta, she really loved it. Overall it was a pleasant dinner but a little expensive.

    We celebrated our 50th anniversary. Our waiter and the floor staff did a great job of insuring our meal was as ordered and our drinking glasses we always full. The chefs in the kitchen did a great job of food preparation. The Whaling Station is our annual anniversary dining spot. We highly recommend the Whaling Station for your special dining place.

    There were many empty tables the night we ate dinner. There were six of us to include two people with hearing problems. The hostess chose to seat us right next to the bar. I asked our waitress if we might be moved to a table where it was quieter. Lots of empty tables, but for some unknown reason we just had to stay where we were. The food was excellent. The noise level next to the bar totally unacceptable. Be a long, long time before we return. Kevin

    Was a bit disappointed - I tried to arrange a surprise for a friend ahead of time. I was told this note was taken and when they brought the desert they did not bring it with the candle. So I stopped them, surprise ruined, but she was a good sport. I just expected more given the option to put a special request in while making the reservation and also talking to the host prior to my friend arriving. Otherwise food was good and I enjoyed the ambiance

    Wonderful service, great drinks and food! Great place to go if you want a steakhouse where most restaurants only have seafood in this area. They had a good variety of seafood too but we don’t enjoy that kind of food. Highly recommend!

    First time going there. Food and service were excellent. Starting off with a nice presentation of their meat cuts available. Ended up going with the filet mignon and a Wellington. They were both cooked to perfection! Could have eaten it with a spoon it was so tender. Nice classy restaurant where you could take a date or just have a casual drink with friends. We will definitely be back!

    I I had a group of 12 to celebrate my wedding ceremony and the service level was fair at best. My reservation was at 5:45 and we arrived 15 minutes early and still had to wait over 30 minutes for the appetizers that I pre-ordered. At the time that we arrived, the restaraunt was not full at all, and so I could not understand the slow service. Also, my steak was not what I remembered from past visits.....and I have eaten and enjoyed many meals at the Whaling Station previously. But this experience was not what I expected. Not sure if there is new ownership or a new chef? But I do not plan on returning for a long time.

    We enjoyed the excellent service Carl provided to our table. The steaks lacked flavor and were tough. We had one cowboy steak and one filet mignon. The short rib, lobster tail, salmon, and beef wellington were all good. Would recommend this restaurant and look forward to trying it again.

    Carl was our server and he was excellent. He was there to great us when we walked in. We had an amazing meal. The rack of lamb and the egg rolls were to die for. I was here to celebrate 1 year of marriage to my amazing husband! I had the best time. At the end of our meal, we were given a complimentary desert which was super cute. The whole experience felt very genuine and was traditional fine dining. We were never rushed through our meal nor pushed to buy anything we didn’t want. I can’t wait to return. :)

    Perfect place to celebrate our anniversary! Great salads and steaks, wide selection of delicious wines, excellent service from the Manager Alfredo, the hostess, our server, and everyone in the staff! It was a great evening! Thoroughly enjoyed our filet mignon! We even got a complimentary canoli to celebrate us! Highly recommended!

    Unfortunately, we weren't impressed with this steakhouse. Staff members were kind, but not entirely attentive. Our drinks were gone for 10 minutes before we had to ask for another. Cocktails are pricey here and not the best. As for the food, it was pretty good. My husbands asparagus was pretty much raw, which is odd. Mashed potatoes were great. Steaks were about an 8/10. If we were local to the area, we probably wouldn't go back again. Like I said, the staff were kind and welcoming, steaks were pretty good, but everything else was lacking.

    I come to Monterey once a year for a conference and The Whaling Station is always a must. The service is always outstanding. The steaks are fantastic. I got the 16oz prime rib this time. Very tender but could have had more flavor. Still very enjoyable.

    Everything you could want in a steakhouse. They actually bring the different cuts of steak to the table and explain the difference between them. Waitress was very knowledgeable and catered to all our needs. Same procedure followed with desserts and overall it was an excellent dining experience

    From start to finish it was wonderful. I can see why they stay booked. The minute the valet took care of our parking. When we checked in, we were about 30 min early but they were able to accommodate a lot earlier. The waitstaff were amazing. They were on it and our server as well. We went to celebrate my boyfriend birthday and they kept saying happy birthday - it was a minor detail but it was great for us! My boyfriend ordered the petit filet mignon & I ordered the Seared Crusted Ahi Tuna. It was delicious. My boyfriend said it melted as soon as you took a bite. Mine was just as delicious. We cleaned our plates. The server did come out with a delicious cannoli and sang a quick happy birthday. Beautiful and wonderful experience. I can’t wait to come back again

    Prime rib amazing. Ribeye was awesome but didn’t say it had a sauce of some sort. It would have been nice to know because my wife didn’t eat it because of that. $68 waste. Service was slow but good. Server possibly didn’t hear me but I ordered pelligrino water twice and never received it. ( not on bill ). Still highly recommend this restaurant. We will know how to order next time. Who puts sauce on a finely marbled prime grade steak without asking. Just saying.

    Very friendly waitress. Good martinis. Prime rib was ok. Ordered a twice baked potato instead of mashed. It was cold in the middle. They waved my corkage fee because of this. Next time I would do bar seating and order off their bar menu.

    The service was slow and inattentive. We spent $600 on a meal that was less than satisfactory. My steak was inedible due to over-salting and when I mentioned it to the server he just d he’d let the chef know. My co-worker felt his steak was also over-salted. This is a restaurant I’ve been to a few times and always had good service and food. It was very disappointing.
