Fresh calamari rings and tentacles and wonderful rack of lamb, both perfectly prepared. The halibut was fresh, pan seared and then baked to puff into a very flavorful meal. The fresh wild mushroom soup was pleasant and not overly salty as many soups often can be. Great selection of cocktails and wine to complement all. The valet parking makes it convenient, but the location is in the heart of the Wave Street and Cannery Row area, easily within walking distance to many activities and attractions.

We love the tableside Caesar salad but know that there is a Tom of garlic and anchovies! It would be better with more lettuce but deliciously done. Service is attentive and it's a classic steak house - expensive and indulgent!

The US prime beef is awesome. The porterhouse steak was simply perfectly grilled and seasoned.
Value for money is very good.
Good and diverse wine list of local producer.
Place to be recommend.
Good and friendly staff.

Best resturant in Monterey and the surounding area!

Ask for the waiter named Jumbo and order his table-side tossed Caesar. He puts on a show that you can find on YouTube.

The steaks are great, but their risottos are really tasty too.

Whaling station claims to be the best Steak house in Monterey and they deliver on that promise. The food is excellent and cooked exactly right. The service was outstanding and although the prices are a little on the high side they more than deliver on the quality. I had one of the best lobster tails I've had in a long while. An actual Atlantic lobster none of those small pacific lobsters. Also the steaks were high quality and cooked to perfection. If you don't mind spending the money you will get a truly excellent meal at Whaling Station

Overall food quality and service was very good. Staff was friendly and welcoming. A bit pricey for frequent dining, but great for a special occasions.

The staff, food and location are great but 3 LOUD WOMEN and their group destroyed our evening!!! We all want to have a great night out but if you want to take over the restaurant, rent a room!!!

Oh this place was great ! Food came out in a decent amount of time. The quality was great had a 12 oz filet mignon. Veggies and salad were fresh as could be. I'll be back !

The steaks looked fantastic when they showed them to us at the table and they were cooked well, but the flavor was sorely lacking. The prime rib was unremarkable. Service was rushed. Not what we were expecting.
