The Whale Wins
Start out your meal with an appetizer like roasted squash or house pickled vegetables. Choose from a menu that is constantly changing but always offers dishes like the salt roasted half chicken, Hama Hama clams and the 32 oz double cut ribeye. Top off your experience with a homemade dessert at The Whale Wins.
Our experience was wonderful. Food and service were exceptional. We can’t wait to return.
Wonderful food, great service, great night out
Seated nearly 30 min past our reservation time. Food was good, but not interesting or special enough to justify the price.
Inventive, ultra delicious dishes, lovingly prepared and beautifully presented. Warm ambiance, exquisite service.
I love this place. They have the best bread and wine list, the most attentive and discreet wait staff, and an all around lovely restaurant.
Family in town. An item was forgotten, one of our party had severe allergies to nuts, we asked that no nuts came to the table, the next course arrived with a bowl of nuts. Overall good experience but the above incidents dampened the night.
Delicious food and a beautiful restaurant. A new favorite!
Celebrated my Bday at Whale Wins and had an incredible time!! The food was just as fabulous as every other time I've been and the bread pudding was to die for. LOVED it!!
Always amazing seasonal and local. Enjoyed the Carmen Ranch cote de boeuf and the ahi tartar.
Phenomenal service and food as always. The Whale Wins will always be a special place in the city of Seattle, and its a perfect gem in the Fremont/Wallingford neighborhood.
Every dish was exquisite, from start to finish. Best pork chop I've ever had. Service was perfection. I honestly can't wait to go back. I'm already dreaming of how to replicate the butter lettuce salad!
We started with the pickled vegetables the Sea Wolf bread and butter main course we had to salted half chicken With a side of smoked potatoes The food was excellent! The service was excellent! Great place for a date night
A lot of money for average food.
4 of us shared a wide variety of dishes from clams, chicken, herbed salad, broccoli and many more. Not one bite was left in a plate!! Excellent and also discovered a great wine!!!
Clam ceviche OMG. Great wine recommendations.
Wife almost almost yelled at the group of men beside us because she was eves dropping on them talking about colleagues worth cheating on their wife’s for.
We had a wonderful array of small plates. The flavors were terrific. We did eat too much, alas, but it was all so tasty.
So good. Love this place!!!! Course pacing was perfect, every dish delicious, everything was awesome!
We had wonderful service & a truly enjoyable meal.
Great food. Great service. Things that appear simple on the menu are very well done and delicious.
Great time. Super friendly staff- and really great Cote de Boeuf!
I really liked the ambience. Thought the food wasn’t worth the price.
Great food. I love that there are a lot of delicious small plates to share as well as main courses without paying an extra fee. That way, you can have more items. Also great wines, local as well as international ones.
The Whale Wins Is always a culinary delight. Amazing food from start to finish-digestively as well!
Pretty good food made with fresh and local products. Staff is really friendly and nice with kids.
Each dish was an amazing blend of flavors, textures, salt, heat. Generous portions. Great service. Best tap rose I've ever tasted!
Charming location, excellent service, mediocre food. We had the fixed price entree for two on a Monday night. Well prepared but uneven flavors and we both left disappointed.
We so very much looked forward to our dining experience, but the food was lackluster and just “ok.” Very few protein options and I’d say the service was average. Nothing about our experience aligned with the numerous top-notch reviews we read or heard beforehand. Unfortunately this was our first and last visit.
Meh. Not an extensive menu. Not very friendly wait staff. Food was ok, but portions were small for the price. The space is so cute and the kitchen is beautiful, which is why I wanted to try it, but we were not impressed.
Sometimes we purge. Other times we splurge. This was the latter.
Very attentive waitstaff, but not overbearing. Good recommendations on how much to order, we ended up with just the right amount of food. Everything we had was excellent, Chicories salad was the favorite.
Birthday was outstanding!
Easily one of my favorite restaurants in Seattle. Grand Aioli is a screaming deal, so delicious.
The food was excellent. The tuna tartare in particular was outstanding.
Beautiful space - especially the outdoor area. The tables were too close together and were bolted down, which made for some uncomfortable 'scooching' experiences to get past your neighbors and into or out of your seat.
The food was not impressive, especially at the price point. Expected more inventiveness with the flavors and textures that just did not happen. The tuna tartare was basically a grocery store tuna salad. The cheese plate was good but could've been constructed at home (three cheeses and a fig jam, plated in the most expected way and drizzled with Olive Oil).
Just a casual summer date night, as first timers we really enjoyed the offerings and experience.
Very limited but delicious menu. Only 3 entres to choose from all verry good. 4 great salads
Food was amazing but took forever to come out. Ended up taking it home.
Another great restaurant from Renee Erickson. We loved Walrus and Carpenter and this place is also excellent. We loved it so much that we couldn’t want to book another meal with my in-laws. We ordered the cheese platter, bread, clams and the rib eye steak. All amazing!
