WestRoom is your local in the heart of the city. This stunningly appointed bar is one of the city's best kept secrets with a reputation for great food and drinks. Located in the heart of the West End the bar has friendly staff and a relaxed ambiance.

Cicchetti is traditionally a selection of snacks served with drinks in Venice. Now served in city bars all over Italy, true Italian tapas, simple, fresh small plates to share or eat alone. The chef's seasonal fare is complemented by a great range of wine and beers alongside one of the best cocktail lists in the city.

PLEASE NOTE - We do not have a children licence at present, so we are currently unfortunately unable to allow anyone under the age of 5yrs.

Really enjoyed our set-menu 2 course meal with prosecco. Good value. The staff are very happy and friendly. Young man behind the bar, who was also serving, was very polite, happy and made the experience enjoyable. Good variety of tables, high-tables and bar area to choose from. Also, weather permitting, outdoor table and chairs.

Exceptional service, staff were amazing. Food was delicious and not an excessively long menu so easy to make choices. cocktails were great and the restaurant is really reasonably priced for being in city centre. Would definitely reccomend and will be back again!

My daughter and I are visiting and found this delightful gem. So glad we made a reservation last night. It’s a small space but really nice atmosphere. Small bar and a few tables. Lovely menu and service. We started with a wonderful tomato and peach salad. Delicious and so unique. I had the mushroom ravioli which was perfect - perfect meal! My daughter had an amazing risotto with zucchini and prawns. Very light and plenty to bring home. Also order the warm focaccia bread. Friendly and great service from Pooja.

I just love this little restaurant and so glad I found it. The food is excellent with good sized portions which are well priced. Friendly staff and nice selection of wines.

After being recommended the West Room several times, we were keen to try out this Venetian concept. We had an Itison voucher which was good value for a first visit - more in this later and I’ve a mind to write to Joanna from the Guardian Food. I booked through OpenTable to ensure I got one of the tables at the back. This booking was cancelled without reason. I rebooked but only had a high table option. Suck it and see I thought. I’m just over 5ft so getting on and off a high stool is not the most dignified of experiences but as we had a teenager-free day, I persevered. *spoiler alert - it was not dignified getting down, my partner found this hilarious. Service was fab and the waitress couldn’t have been lovelier. Top marks! Food - a huge let down. We had 2 courses - both had the nduja arancini which was overpowered by the sauce and missing nduja in 75% of the portions. A bit stodgy also but that happened with deep fried rice. We ordered the bread basket with oil and vinegar alongside because carbs - why not? While a generous portion, I wouldn’t like to guess how old the various toasted and fried breads were but were perhaps the driest of carbs I’ve ever had. The waitress kindly brought more oil. The oil was tasteless and the balsamic was that thick stuff from a wholesaler. The mains - I had the broad bean, courgette orzo. The courgette was huge lumps in contrast to the other ingredients and not fried off or seasoned so was bitter. Can’t remember what the sauce was but I left 3/4 of it. Likely because the delicious wine (very recommend the Pecorino) I was having was reconstituting the dried bread in my stomach. My partners pizzetta was swamped with caramelised onions and thick balsamic making it taste like BBQ bacon. He ate it, because he’s tight but complained throughout affecting my dining experience. I really hope this was an off day. I’m glad we didn’t pay full price. We won’t be back though and I’d recommend freshening up the toilet decor too.

Such a gem of a place. So happy we found it on our recent trip to Edinburgh. The cauliflower dip with the croquets was delicious and the truffle fries so moreish. Loved the small plates and cocktails. Highly recommend.
